High Iga After Going gluten-free?

10 April 2013 - 09:06 PM

My 7 year old was diagnosed with Celiac via blood test and biopsy over a year ago. At the time, when he was eating gluten, his IgA was normal, but the other two (TTG and something else that I can't remember now) were super high. Since going gluten-free, those two have returned to normal, but the last two blood tests show his IgA as being high now when it wasn't before. Is there another reason why this particular marker would change when it appears that his Celiac is under control with the other two negative results and no symptoms. He is pretty sensitive to gluten - usually gets sick within 24 hours of ingesting it -- and it doesn't have to be a lot to make him sick. So, I'm pretty sure there's nothing sneaky going on. What else might cause this? Any ideas?

Delimex Taquitos Are No Longer gluten-free

02 January 2013 - 10:50 AM

This is my first post, but I've found myself here many times while searching "Is [insert name of food I need to know RIGHT NOW] gluten free?" I've gotten a lot of help from all of you, thanks! I was just heating up some taquitos for the kids (I have 2 Celiacs) and thought it was about time for another verification, so I called the company and they told me that none of the Delimex taquitos are gluten free anymore. I asked why because I didn't see any questionable ingredients and I knew they used to be and she said it might be because they are on shared lines now - they did used to be gluten-free, but are not anymore. I apologize if this has been mentioned before, but everything I searched said that these were gluten free and they are not - at least according to the company. Now I have to figure out what to make for lunch - and I have a whole big Costco box of these - to feed the hubby now, I guess!
