Newby With Cross Contamination Questions

26 January 2013 - 06:46 PM

I am New to this site, only 1 week or so, I would like to ask a question about cross contamination...I have a spouse that has many health issues and I don't believe that he can go gluten free (waiting to hear from his doctor) so there fore I would like to be able to continue making his food that he loves and needs for him and also make gluten free for my self. I find that when I even heat up soup for him I feel some sort of sigh of cc. Would I need to protect my hands and have seperate utensils for my preps? Please help me someone, I so not know anyone gluten-free around me that I can talk to. Thanks in advance! Mediators, sorry for my errors, I am New and did not know better...slap, slap on my hand! Lol thanks

What Kitchen Things Do I Need To Toss?

Can you get cross contamination from the wooden spoons used in cooking? I guess I should throw them away and get New ones. What about the rest of my plastics and wooden bowls? I am so confused with this New diet!!!

Doing Better Gluten Free

23 January 2013 - 07:45 PM

I do not have insurance and I tried taking the gluten out and all seems to be going much better for me. No hyperthyroidism, diminishing....pains in the stomach, diminishing....constipation, diminishing...I feel so much better. I already have vitiligo and I went through some stress about 4 years ago and have been suffering since. Now all I have to do is put some weight on and I will feel much better. I could not go the gluten route any longer, I was on the brink of malnutrition.

I'm New Here (Split From Wendy's Frosty Topic)

19 January 2013 - 04:03 PM

Hello everyone, I am New to the gluten free scene. I self diagnosed my gluten sensitivity and I feel free. I feel as though I have been reborn to some degree. I had been having problems for the past 4 years and never ever thought of celiacs disease. One day a friend of mine had been listening to me complain (being a true friend) and all of a sudden she says are you sure that you aren't gluten sensitive? I said I don't know, never really thought of it, so I gave up all gluten and I cannot tell everyone enough how well I feel! I also have Vitiligo which is also an autoimmune disease and after doing my research figured what my condition was. I also am suffering with a hyperthyroid which gives me a lump in my throat and I feel as though I am speeding(this is also part of the autoimmune community) That is starting to feel better also, I am so very happy to be feeling better. I know it will take a little bit to get my immune system back on track but since I have found this site I am extremely happy, I can eat again!!! Yall have a wonderful day and happy days are coming!!!! Lol
