So Confused

My DD is 8 and had an endoscope and blood work done 4 months ago that came back negative. Dr said to try gluten-free for a month and see what happens. Well she has been on it for 4 months and is much better no more diarrhea, stomach pains and even her eczema is better.  We were at a birthday party last weekend am they served pizza and cupcakes. My daughter knew she couldn't have any of the food served there and packed her own snacks like she usually does. Well after seeing all her friends eating that stuff she whispers to me can I have some. i explained to her that it is her body and she would be the one in pain if she had a reaction and she was willing to go for it. up until that day she has not had anything with gluten and I honestly always wondered what would happen if she did eat it so I know what kind of reaction she would have after being gluten-free for 4 months (not that I wanted my DD to have a reaction I needed her to learn that if you eat something with gluten you will get a reaction). As she ate 2 pieces of pizza and half a cupcake I was preparing myself for a long night and possible no school the next day. 

 

Hours passed and even days NOTHING happened. I don't know what to think or what to say. She has had a few things hear and there I wont let her dive into the Gluten full blast because I am afraid of what will happen.

 

Has this ever happen to anyone out there. I am having a hard time understanding if she just has a gluten sensitivity or intolerance or none at all. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Just bought a bread maker and am looking for simple recipes. I don't want to experiment with different ones was hoping to find a foolproof one so I wouldn't have to waste all this expensive flour. Thanks in advance.

Is It Normal To Lose Weight On gluten-free Diet?

Hi, my 8 year old daughter has been gluten-free for 6 weeks now and she has lost 3 pounds. Everyone that hasn't seen her in a while notice quickly that she lost weight. She of average height and weight, just wondering if anyone's child also lost weight while going gluten-free. We eat pretty healthy even before starting her. . She does have less stomach pain while eating and the diareha is gone. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Do You Give Anything To Help Ease Pain When Glutened?

My DD has been gluten-free for a couple of weeks now and I wanted to ask if your child has been glutened or is having symptoms do you give them anything to help. There have been a few times when DD is complaining of her stomach hurting but she hasn't had any gluten that I can think of. We are attending a family birthday party this weekend and so I am trying to prepare myself for a " what if" instance. I do keep snacks with me that she could have but was wondering if anyone has a kept secret...lol to help get over the pain.

Oatmeal?

I have avoided giving my 8 year old DD any oatmeal because I couldn't get a straight answer about it being gluten-free. I have read a lot about cc and that is what I was worried about. She has been gluten-free for two weeks and it has been such a wonderful two weeks. She isn't celiac but has shown a gluten intolerance or sensitivity we are in the process of figuring it out. This morning she looked upset staring at my bowel of oatmeal, and asked when she would be able to have one. I explained the reason of cc, and that I don't know if this falls in that category or not. Then I asked her if she was willing to give it a shot and she was all for it. She at her whole bowl of strawberry oatmeal and had no reaction to it. So my ? Is do many of you eat oatmeal?
