Topics I've Started

Curry Powder

06 February 2015 - 12:09 PM

Which ones do you guys use that is safe? I am looking at the McCormick one which seems fine but wanted to double check whether anyone had an issue with it.

Xifaxan For Sibo

12 January 2015 - 09:09 AM

I have been diagnosed with SIBO (methane type). My doctor prescribed Xifaxan but the manufacturer cannot tell me whether there is any gluten containing ingredients. This is not the typical response, no gluten ingredients used but we can't guarantee statement. This is we can only give you the list of ingredients and cannot tell you whether any of them is derived from wheat etc. My pharmacist got the same response.

Has anyone had this drug recently and had a gluten issue? I am not sure that risking it is a good idea given the issues I am having. The one ingredient that seems a bit suspect is sodium starch glycolate.

Glutened? How To Handle?

01 January 2015 - 05:49 PM

I accidentally started eating a chip that was not gluten free. Realized the mistake and spit it out before I swallowed. Afterwards I brushed my teeth, flossed and rinsed several times. Can I be glutened even though I did not swallow the food? Having a very tough time recently due to antibiotic usage and some accidental cross contamination issues during holiday travel and am kicking myself for this happening in my own home!

This is the first time I have consumed an actual gluten item in two years. Do charcoal tablets work? Anything else I can do to help? (I am off probiotics for the time being due to an upcoming SiBO breath test so cannot do that)

Edy's Ice Cream - Pumpkin Flavor

Has anyone had luck with this brand? It says gluten free on their website but not on the package and they do have some gluten flavors.

Frozen Fruit - Earthbound Farm Organic

03 December 2014 - 08:01 PM

According to an email from them their frozen peaches are gluten free but made in a facility where wheat is used (in a different area). Has anyone tried their frozen fruit before? Not sure if I should risk it.
