Anyone know if this herseys xl almond bar is gluten free? Their site says just the 1.5 oz but no word on xl? The ingredients on the bar look okay.

Strange Sensation In Neck, Anyone Have This?

18 November 2013 - 04:40 AM

I was hoping someone on this board might be able to relate and point me in the proper direction. :)

Over the past few months I have had a strange sensation on the left side of my neck. Sometimes it' s near the base of the neck and sometimes near the jawline? I am thinking maybe a muscle. I went to the doctor for this and he recommended a specialist. My lymph nodes were not swollen and I tested fine for thyroid issues. The feeling is not really a numbess, not really an ache and not really swollen. It's a combination of those feelings and something I've never felt before and not able to explain properly. :)

So, of course the ENT thought I was crazy and was more concerned with my sinus issues. Maybe related? I don't know.

I don't really know if this is related to Celiac or not but I was just curious if anyone's ever experienced anything similar and could point me to any reading about it.

When it gets really bad it keeps me up at night. I also get this feeling in my arms. Not really numbness and not really pain. Like a heavy/goosebump/flushing feeling. My mind also starts racing and I have to calm down and just go to sleep. It takes a while.

The only thing different in my life is that I did get a kitty recently who I've been keeping in the spare room until I can get here on the grain free food. I've pet her and shown her love a couple times but be sure to wash my hands after. But who knows?

Thanks for any advice!

Ttg Iga - Just Curious

15 November 2013 - 07:41 AM

About a year ago my doctor told me that my TTG IGA score was 700. However, I haven't seen anyone else with that high a number floating around here. Is that even possible or was he exaggerating? (I was never released this test. I didn't even think to ask for it)

I then dropped to 45 after going gluten free. (I now keep my tests on record).

Now I'm at 15 and shrinking. It's been a month and a half so hopefully my next test will put me at reasonable levels. I was just more curious if I actually dropped from 700 to normal levels in a little under a year.

Feeling Miserable Today But...

16 October 2013 - 03:19 AM

I got my latest test score back...

T-Transglutaminase IGA AB score: 15.

So I'm trending in the right direction and that makes me happy. Off the charts to 45 to 15 in 6 months on a gluten free diet. Let's hope some of these symptoms lift in a few more months!

Take care Celiacs!

Good Gluten Free Doughnut Recipe?

26 September 2013 - 08:22 AM

I'm an avid Columbus Blue Jackets fan and it has been tradition for 8 years now to have what we call a "stinger doughnut" before the opening game. This is basically just a tim horton's plain doughnut with green frosting and blue sprinkles. Nothing special. Well, 8 years until CELIAC decided to be like Walter White and come knocking. I was pretty bummed about this but I decided, you know what? To heck with that. I'm going to fight fire with fire and I will just make my own.

The problem is: I have no idea how to do that. So I figure I will buy a doughnut maker on Amazon. Anyone have a good recipe? I've searched for some online and it looks like I just need to find a good flour. I'm a horrible cook (but learning). All suggestions are welcome! :)

Take care my friendly Celiacs.
