#872853 Battling No Food

Posted by NotMollyRingwald on 05 June 2013 - 01:25 PM

Well, I was going to say something (I've been gone all day and just saw that UC has returned to read all our posts)..but I am too late because you guys have said it all. I'll just say "what they just said".

Kiddo, GO SHOPPING and stop glutening yourself. :) Your attitude about this is all wrong.
It's not the worst thing on the planet to be a celiac.
Not by a long shot.

Guys who have a full fridge and a full bar and know how to cook are a helluva lot sexier than guys who do not.
Trust us women on this one.

Amen to that!

#871005 Disappointing Endo Results

Posted by NotMollyRingwald on 27 May 2013 - 03:20 PM

I can understand your disappointment.  It's so backward, isn't it?  To be disappointed when a disease has been ruled out??  I've begun preparing myself for "normal" results, too...caz, as weird as the normals would think this sounds, I know having Celiac would justify all the pain and suffering, and maybe make me seem less crazy to them. To "only have IBS" just doesn't seem to mean enough.  The important thing to consider is Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity/Intolerance (I see the terms used interchangeably, not sure which one it really is).  If you have seen improvement on the gluten-free diet, that speaks volumes. More importantly, if you decide to go back to gluten, and your symptoms come raging back, are worse, or change significantly, you'll have an answer.  Celiac or NCGS, gluten really messes with many people.

Anyway, I hope your disappointment is short lived, and things improve for you.

((HUGS))

ET correct spelling...but there are probably still lots of mistakes. LOL  :P

#868634 Favorite Emergency Food

Posted by NotMollyRingwald on 14 May 2013 - 09:19 AM

I always have these on hand: nut butter (w/apples or just straight off the spoon), handful of almonds/walnuts/pecans, corn chips with guacamole (I should really own stock in the "Wholly Guacamole" brand!), baby carrots, bell pepper slices, eggs, berries & bananas. My purse/car is stocked with Larabars, just in case and I almost always have a banana in my purse...my hubby calls me a hard core snack hound. :)

#867599 Read This If You Could Use A Chuckle :)

Posted by NotMollyRingwald on 09 May 2013 - 04:51 AM

This morning getting ready to take the kiddos to school, I put my pants on over the shorts I slept in not realizing what I was doing until I catch myself tucking the shorts in because "something didn't feel right!" Looked over my sweater three times hanging on the coat rack (who would find it there?!) I mean I looked on the rack three times! How did I miss it? Sometimes I feel like I'm on the Truman Show, I start looking for hidden cameras! It's gonna be ona dos dayz....

Too funny! I guess two layers is better than going out WITHOUT pants though! ;)

#867110 Read This If You Could Use A Chuckle :)

Posted by NotMollyRingwald on 06 May 2013 - 09:55 AM

I've totally walked straight into a glass door at a shoe store. It was open when I went in! My friends didn't let me live that one down for a while, and damn my head hurt!

When brain-foggy, I'll often think I've done things I haven't, or assume I haven't and do it again. I do a lot of walking into the kitchen instead of the copy room here at the office (next to each other) to, you know, get my printing from the fridge.

Lately I keep putting my clothes into the washing machine, walk away while its filling up, and come back an hour late to discover I forgot to put the lid down! argh!

But yes, definitely less brain-fog idiocy when not glutened. The rest is just natural.

Hahaha Keeping the copies in the fridge should be standard practice. That way I could always find them!  ;)  I feel you on the washing machine, I just ran an entire cycle WITHOUT the clothes in there. FACE.PALM.

YO! NotMolly AMY!

How are you doing hon?? Still okay?

Hey Irish!  Yeah, I'm still ok. Physically, if not mentally. HA!  Hanging in there and counting down the hours.
