  1. Hi Ami, I'm in the low ferritin club too. Mine was a lowly 2 at diagnosis and was only up to 9 at about 7 months post diagnosis. It was still that low even after taking 50 mg of iron bisglycinate daily(I think that's the same type of iron that is in Slow FE), but my CBC numbers are much better now. I was still have a lot of low iron symptoms and talked to...
  2. We had those rules too when we first brought home our fur babies. They were to be crated at night and we were going to board them for a week every year so we could vacation at our favorite resort that is not pet friendly. They of course sleep in our bed now and we don't board them, but instead find a VRBO that allows pets so they can go on vacation with...
  3. Thanks everyone for the great advice and tips! I am in Michigan, so we don't have some of the places that were mentioned, but the self serve frozen yogurt trend has finally made it's way up here and I am seeing them all over now. One local chain in particular claims all of their yogurt is gluten free and I have asked about it several times and am always...
  4. Hi Kareng. I'm glad to hear you get TCBY and Dairy Queen soft serve. If you eat it, I feel safe eating it . I'm guessing TCBY has a good procedure to clean between flavors, but I will ask at my location just to make sure, in case a flavor with gluten was in the machine before a gluten free flavor. I see McDonalds soft serve vanilla is gluten free too...
  5. Hi Everyone, I am just wondering if there is anything you know of that we can safely eat from Ice Cream or Frozen Yogurt Shops? When I was first diagnosed, I ordered some hand scooped frozen yogurt that I was told was gluten free, and then my husband pointed out that the scoops they use to get the frozen yogurt out are used in all of the tubs, so there...
  6. Thanks everyone for all of the great products suggestions and for clearing up to tocopherol issue. I am definitely going to try the products all of your recommended. So, here is something new that came up regarding my hairspray and I am wondering if anyone knows if this should be a concern. I wrote to make sure it was gluten free because I get a little...
  7. That's great to hear that tocopherols are not something I need to worry about. I had read in a few places to make sure that they weren't sourced from wheat, but it sounds like that is just a myth. I'm not sure what ingredient I react to in most products, but am so happy that I can use my products that don't cause a reaction even if they have tocopheryl derived...
  8. Hi All, I am a newbie and am in the process of trying to change all of my skin care and make up products to Gluten free, especially the products that come in contact with my mouth. I have very sensitive skin, sinuses and eyes and it has literally taken me years to find products that I don't have a reaction to. The problem is that those products may contain...
