A Little Bit Of D

23 January 2008 - 02:41 PM

I've had two instances of loose bowels the last week, and I noticed that the two things that coincided with these incidents were onions and also high fat consumption the day before (good fats, but fats nonetheless). Anyone see anything similar?

Dairy Intolerance
Hey... hope everyone is enjoying the fall... my favorite season.

Over the course of the last 6 weeks, I've gone dairy free - completely - and have seen the problems I've had with my, well, #2s go away. This is a major buzzkill for me. I don't care about milk itself, or even cheese, it's all the other foods - such as pamela's mix - that have helped me since I've been gluten-free. What's interesting is that I don't think I had any problems with dairy before being gluten-free.

I was wondering if anyone has been able to go back to dairy - at least in limited quantities - after being gluten-free/DF for a while. I've been gluten-free for a year and a half now. Once my system has had a chance to heal for a few years more - I hope I'll be able to tolerate more foods that I might be able to now.

Thoughts? Experiences (better)?

Thanks!

Gluten-free Weight Gain Bars

18 September 2007 - 05:57 PM

Hello!

I've been diagnosed and gluten-free for the last 18 months. Over the course of the last month, I've also gone dairy free. While my bathroom issues have improved (I'm trying not to be graphic on the baking forum!), I'm still trying to get my weight back up since I went gluten-free. I'm almost 20 pounds lighter, even though I'm feeling better (mostly). Does anyone have recipe for a high carb, protein bar that is gluten-free and DF? If it's whole grain, that would be better!

Thanks!

Bm Problems

24 August 2007 - 05:55 AM

Hi, All.

I think this might win the "graphic post of the week" award.

I am currently having an issue with my BMs. Usually they are normal. However, sometimes they start normal but then they end up somewhere between normal and diarrhea. I have stopped eating dairy to see if it's the issue, and it's gotten a bit better but has not gone away.

I have gone to one of the best celiac doctors about the issue, and he has not been able to identify the exact issue. My blood work is normal, and my villae have grown back to normal since my dx and move to gluten-free diet 16 months ago. If it were a gluten issue, my blood work I think would have reflected it because I was tested and had the repeat biopsy while I was having the problem.

Looking for suggestions!

Thanks!
