I just heard and confirmed that Pat's Pizza in Orono, ME has gluten-free whoopie pies. I asked if they had them at any of the other Pat's around the state, but the person who answered the phone didn't know.

I have been cooking Asian foods for a while and have a smattering of Vietnamese recipes in several cookbooks, but I just bought my first cookbook devoted to the subject.
Sweet heaven, there's no wheat, barley or rye.
Does anyone else do this? I cooked my first pho with the first onion that I grew from seed last weekend. Homegrown basil and mint, too.
I love firsts. :)

Your Favorite Throw-together Dinner

I'm almost afraid to ask because I'll be tempted to do this more often in the future and that's not good, but every once in a while I have to cook when I don't really feel like it. And I love to cook when I do feel like it and don't want to ruin that. So what's everybody's favorite dinner that involves little more than opening this or that?

I can think of a can of beans, some hot dogs, cole slaw from the deli and some of George's brownies for dessert for instance. Any others?

Gah, can almost feel the cc now...
