The Cravings Place was created by Juli Walton of Bend, Oregon, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York.

After many years of eating all the foods that she loved, she discovered that she was intolerant of products that contained gluten, wheat, dairy, beans and nuts. Relying on her culinary background, a passion for food and DESPERATION, The Cravings Place was created.

Most of the products can be ready in 20 minutes to an hour by adding water and dairy free margarine or oil to the dry baking mix.

All products are produced in a dedicated gluten free, wheat free, dairy free, egg free, bean free and nut free location. Only quality nonallergen products are used from reputable suppliers.

Ingredients: Brown Rice Flour, Vegan Beet Sugar, White Rice Flour, Dutch Cocoa Powder, Vanilla Bean Powder (vanilla beans, corn based dextrose), Non-Aluminum Baking Powder (sodium acid pyrophosphate, bicarbonate of soda, corn starch (from non GMO corn), calcium acid phosphate), sea salt, Xanthan Gum, Baking Soda.

Another superb mix by Cravings Place. We like to make cupcakes with this mix, and top with either vanilla or chocolate frosting. They are always a big hit at my kids' birthday parties. For my daughter's 15th birthday, I made a cake with this mix, topped it with chocolate frosting, and sprinkled with allergy-safe mini chocolate chips. It was so decadent! A must-try!

Having tried other mixes from The Cravings Place, I was looking forward to trying this cake, and I wasn't disappointed. It was rich, full of chocolate flavor, and moist. I wouldn't say it was as dense as a flourless chocolate cake recipe, but it was a heavy cake. The best thing was that unlike other cake mixes, it made two layers, not one, so you get a true chocolate cake. My husband, who isn't allergic to gluten, loved it too!!!

Having been on a gluten free diet since 1982 and having to deal with the lack of mixes/foods available over the years... it is nice to know there are now those products to enjoy, which reflect back to what I was once use to. This is one of those products that can be savored ... it is moist, flavorful and with a good texture. This is one of those you will enjoy... it is also easy to mix up/bake.

This is really a great mix for those with multiple sensitivities. You can make all kinds of substitutions (mix does not require eggs) to enhance the flavor and the cake still bakes up nicely. It has a better texture than many gluten free cakes, but is dense. It is best used as a layer cake rather than a single loaf product.

My husband made this for our daughter's birthday-used the double chocolate variation and put raspberry preserves between the layers. A drizzle of glaze around the edge and voila! WONDERFUL! Stayed moist,very good flavor, not dense AT ALL. The whole family loved it and I am the only celiac! Great taste, great texture.

It created a very dense cake for me. The smell as it was baking, and the initial bite is not pleasant. There's an overpowering beet taste, which I can see by the ingredients that beet sugar was used. And I like beets, but not in this cake mix I as found out. With some ingredient adjustments I think this mix could be much better.

Thank heavens for Cravings Place! This cake is delicious, not only for my son with allergies but for the entire family! I too have tried to make gluten-free, egg-free and dairy free cakes from scratch and from other manufacturers' mixes. Using melted coconut oil and water ( no egg replacer!!!!) this cake is smooth and chocolately with a nice texture and no weird aftertaste. Try the other Cravings Place mixes too as they are consistently delicious!
