Wheat and gluten free - made with italian chestnut flour. Needed to add to mix: unsalted butter, eggs, water. Each package makes a single 9-inch pound cake.

A perfect blend of gourmet flours coupled with the finest, all natural ingredients. They've carefully selected premium flours to bring you something more flavorful. Packed with the natural goodness of fine white rice flour, the nutty sweetness of italian chestnut flour, and the silky smoothness of tapioca flour.

A tender and flavorful cake made with imported Dutch cocoa and finished with a light touch of pure vanilla powder. Scrumptious without frosting and simply irresistible with frosting.

Ingredients: Granulated Sugar, Gourmet Flour Blend (Fine White Rice Flour, Italian Chestnut Flour, Tapioca Flour), Cultured Buttermilk, Imported Dutch Cocoa (alkalized), Baking soda, Pure Vanilla Powder, Salt, Xanthan Gum, Aluminum Free Baking Powder.

RECIPE:
ADDITIONAL INGREDIETNS NEEDED:
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
2 large eggs, at room temperature
1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp warm water

PREPARE:
Preheat oven to 350 def F. Lightly grease 9 inch round cake pan or use parchment paper, trimmed to fit bottom of pan.
MIX:
Place contents of the white sugar packet in a large mixing bowl. Cream sugar and butter with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time to sugar mixture and beat until blended. Scrape down bowl. Beat 5 seconds at medium speed. Reduce electric mixer speed to slow. Alternately add the
Brown Flour Packet and water into sugar mixture and blend. Scrape down bowl. Blend thoroughly but DO NO OVER MIX. Batter should be fairly thick. Pour into prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake immediately.
BAKE
For a single layer cake, bake for approx 30 min or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.For cupcakes, bake approx 15 min. Cool for 5 min in pan. Remove from pan and place on a rack. Cool completely before frosting. Keep covered.

Not only the best gluten-free cake I have had but by far the BEST chocolate cake I have had also. My family loves it with a coconut pecan filling and frosting though I love it just plain and warm. The hazelnut flour makes all the difference.

The only PROBLEM... we can't stop eating it! Absolutley the best GF Cake "we" have had. LOL and my husband isn't easily impressed with GF anything. He isn't gluten sensitive and does eat most of what I prepare. But if he likes it this much, we will be buying more!

The Dowd & Rogers cake mixes are hands down the BEST GF cake mixes I have ever found, and I've tried all of them. Moist and dense (which I find perfect, because I prefer dense and moist vs. light cake), with great flavor. Who knew we liked chestnut flour?

Love this product, it must be the Italian Chestnut flour that makes the difference. Does not taste like most GF cake mixes do. Very rich and moist and does not crumble. Made it in a 6-7" pan, so it came out high, sliced in half and filled with Whole Foods GF chocolate fudge frosting, and also on top. Then sprinkled crushed candy cane over the chocolate topping. This product is a keeper.

I've made this mix several times..usually as cupcakes so I can easily freeze them and defrost when needed. Even friends and family who can eat gluten, love these...they don't have that "gluten-free" taste. I've served the cupcakes with whippped cream and strawberries and also frosted with chocolate frosting but the truth is they taste great even plain with just a dusting of powdered sugar. So this mix has become staple in my Gluten-Free pantry.

This is my absolute favorite gluten free product! It is also one of the best cakes i've had- gluten free or not! (and I was always a bit of a baking snob...) The companies chestnut flour has a great flavor and texture, so of course the cake is amazing. Being celiac can be really frustrating timewise and financially, but sometimes I think that I would not be eating this amazing cake If I hadn't been diagnosed.....

I love this cake mix. I've made cupcakes and cakes from this mix and it always tastes great. It's not dry or mealy at all. In fact, my cupcakes/cake always comes out moist and delicious using this mix. The main ingredient is Italian Chestnut Flour, I think that it makes for a really tasty mix.
