Delicious bread with a hearty, thick texture. I love it! Easy to make and yummy to eat. Schar's breads and pastas are amazing!

Very good flavor when hot. Very heavy, did not rise good. Maybe would be better if you added more spices etc. to make the flavor better. Does not last long enough.

I recently bought 2 boxes of Dr. Shar Classic Bread Mix and both boxes came out horrible. I have made other bread mixes before of other brands with no problem. Both batches came out like bricks and took hours to rise. Very dissapointed in the product, would not recommend.

Great in the breadmaker! It was Perfect! By far the best gluten-free bread I've ever made or bought. It's a great light spongy texture, not crumbly at all.

I actually like this bread! It tasted good but looked terrible. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my bread didn't rise, and it's white on the top like the flour didn't mix or something. I'm going to order a few more boxes and try again.

This is the very best bread mix we have tried! I love the wonderful bread smell that permeates our house when I bake it, and the kids come running when it comes out of the oven! Straight out of the oven, I doubt anyone would know it's gluten and dairy free. After a day or so, it can dry out a bit - something easily fixed by popping slices in the microwave for a few seconds. Even better, slice and freeze in meal-sized amounts on day one, then remove and zap in microwave to thaw - still soft and moist!

Schar Bread Mix has been a staple for me for 15 years, when I first discovered it as "Mix B" during a trip to Europe. I use it for pizza crust (best if you let it rise once, "punch" it down, roll it out, and then allow a brief second rise) and a variety of dinner rolls that I freeze and reheat in the oven as needed. Years ago I used to smuggle Mix B into Canada when returning from Europe. Too bad we can't get Mix A (Magherita), an easy, not overly sweet flour mix for cakes and tarts, and Mix C (for sauces and homemade pasta -- it makes a killer spaetzle).

This is absolutely the best and I think I've tried them all! Usually I would start eating a burger and then 2 bites, take off the bread and eat it with a fork because I couldn't get past the taste and texture. Not this bread. It's like a wheat based bread. My former 15 yr old bread queen, bit into a slice and said, "It doesn't taste like anything." She explained that usually the breads taste really funky and gives you a weird after taste. Not with this bread. The whole family was impressed with how the bread didn't crumble in their lunches like others do. And I made a stuffing using cut up cubes that tasted divine. My hunt for the perfect bread is now over!

Was skeptical because this bread called for no eggs. Although the crust is tough to cut through, the bread is delicious! I did however use 2 1/2 cups of water because the mix was too dry with just 2 cups.

This was very good. I kept it whole in the fridge and sliced as needed. It held up very nicely and was great toasted with some peanut butter.

I have tried every gluten free bread mix on the market and this is by far the best. The folks who had problems probably did not calculate the measurements correctly, it is from Italy and use metrics. This bread mix makes an excellent pizza as well. I make the whole mix, let it rise, and then freeze the dough. I take the dough out the night before I want to make a pizza, and it is much easier to work the dough on the pan when it is cold, also use a lot of olive oil while working the dough spreading it in the pan. I am Italian and my mother was a professional cook, so when celiac hit me it was pretty devastating since we always had homemade bread, ravioli, etc. This mix so far is the closest to regular bread I have found. I actually bought one of every bread mix on the market and made both bread and a pizza with each to compare, this one is the best. For the folks who had a problem with it be sure the measurements you are using are correct, and also all the ingredients need to be room temperature any time you make bread or cakes.

We were a little disappointed in the bread mix - Although the inside of the loaf was very soft and moist, the crust was nearly impossible to cut through. I put the dish of water in the oven as instructed, but it didn't help at all. Overall flavor was actually pretty good anyway...

If you follow the directions on the box and use only 2 cups of water, you court disaster! After one batch ruined, I used almost 3 cups of water instead of 2 cups. The result was a perfect loaf of bread. So I think that you should note on the box to use 2 - 3 cups of water.

I made this gluten free white bread and was very disappointed. I used my bread machine on the gluten
free setting and the directions said I could do. The bread came out stark white in spite of the fact that I set
the machine to make a medium crust. The bread was extremely dry and tough. I think it had way too much
starch in it. I won't buy this again.

This "Classic White Bread Mix" appears to be a repackaging of the old "Mix B" for the US market. I'm so happy to see it here today. It is my absolute favorite mix for white bread, Italian/French bread and pizza/calzone/stromboli dough.

BRAVO!!!!! Somebody finally got the bread thing correct. This bread is moist, tasty, sweet, PERFECT. My kids love it and they do not have celiac disease. By far the BEST Gluten-Free Bread. Make sure you make it in a 12" pan. 10 stars. Marsha Merton Maryland

10 out of 10!
This mix is simply the best!!!
(A friend told me also for use with the baking machine).
2 years ago when we came over to the states from Italy I was trying hard (and baking a lot) to find a bread for my 5 year old son (no egg, no lactose and no gluten), but I missed my Schaer Mix B so much, that than I started to order it from Canada.
I bake all of it in a 9X13 Pan (there are some that come with a plastic cover: for the time to let grow the bread it is perfect), than the next day I cut it all in slices and put it in the freezer and take out what my son needs for the day.
Thank you for selling Schaer.
