REFRESHING INSTRUCTIONS: These instructions are given as a guide only. Cooking appliances vary. Can be eaten straight from the pack, or for fresh baked flavor refresh as follows:
CONVENTIONAL OVEN: Wrap two slices of bread in foil and place in a pre-heated oven at 400 deg F for 4-5 minutes.

This is without question the best gluten-free bread I have found. I make sandwiches with this without toasting it, and can finally pack my lunch in the morning and have a delicious sandwich at noon, not a soggy mess. It does not crumble, does not taste weird, and has a normal bread texture. I also love it toasted with some jam or as french toast. It has a fantastic shelf life when unopened, so I make sure to keep a lot on hand. Once opened, it keeps well in the refrigerator. The pieces are smaller than normal bread, but other than that it is almost indistinguishable from normal bread. For anyone like me who is allergic to xanthan gum, it is also xanthan gum free, which is great for those of us with multiple allergies.

This bread is just okay. Way too crumbly when it is not toasted, which is a huge negative for me. I also find that for "multigrain" bread it is nutritionally lacking.

I lived off of these when I was living in Germany and thrilled to see it in the US. It has already been improved and the result is great multigrain bread for those without time to bake. Nice texture, best stored in the fridge. Great toasted for a BLT or grilled cheese sandwich.

Dr. Schars Multigrain bread is one of my favorites! Once again you have to toast it before use. I use it for toast, sandwiches, hamburgers, and hotdogs! (The multigrain bread tends to have larger slices than its white counterpart.

This is the best bread I have tasted in a long time. In Germany it is still Glutano, but the packaging is the same. The texture of the multigrain is much better then the texture of the white. Again, it has to be toasted to get the best flavor, but is is worth it! I really recommend trying it if you have not found one you like yet.

This is by far the best gluten-free bread I've had. It tastes almost exactly like regular multigrain bread, and it doesn't crumble that easily. However, it does need to be heated/toasted as it is a bit dry, and it is a bit smaller than regular bread.

The best gluten-free bread, hands down! My family loves this bread because it doesn't require heating, can stay on the counter for days, and best of all, it tastes like regular bread. This amazing bread tastes like regular soft multigrain bread, and can be used for sandwiches and toast. Be careful not to leave it out of the fridge for too many days, as the bread gets dry and crumbles.

By far this is my favorite GF bread. I've tried them all and would be constantly frustrated by all the crumbling. I'd breathe a sigh of relief if could get a slice out of the toaster without it falling apart. I was personally disappointed with this bread for several reasons. I thought it was dry and towards the end of the loaf, I felt like it wasn't worth making myself eat, so I tossed it. Also, the slices are of a "normal" piece of bread's thickness, but the dimensions are approximately 3" X 3 1/2", so it is a fairly small piece of bread.

This bread is really good, great toasted. My only gripe is the loaves are not bigger and white bread is the only flavor. This is the only bread I can eat, allergic to flour, gluten, wheat, soy, etc. Making it in a larger loaf would be wonderful. It would hold a sandwich much better. I use about 4 loaves a week, so it seems I'm always reordering. Help me out here! Thanks....

This bread is not that great. It's a bit bland and dry. But it is not that bad for sandwiches, especially for warm ones. If you eat it without heating it it's not that great. But if you heat it, whether it be on a hamburger, or in the microwave or toasted, then it is not bad at all.

Best ever! I stopped buying other gluten free bread because of taste and texture issues. This is the closest thing to regular bread that I have ever had since diagnosis 2 years ago. I agree with others that the ultimate would be a slice that was larger and thinner, but in all honesty, there is nothing to complain about with this bread.

This is a really good gluten-free bread. I agree with some of the other reviews in that it is definitely a thick (farmer's) type bread, but it is great toasted and the taste is yummy. It is also good as a side to salads and soups (toasted or not).

my six year old only diagnosed 9 months ago, and she does remember the taste of regular bread will only allow this brand in her lunch box. It is the only one that tastes good when it does not have to be refreshed as it is put on the labels. The white bread is also excellant. this one hes a rye flavor to me.

Dr. Schar multi grain bread is very good. The slices are smaller than an average slice of bread but they are a little thicker and do not have a tendency to crumble the way other gluten free breads do. This bread has a better texture than most Gluten Free breads also.
