    Celiac.com 10/24/2014 - Here are ten recipes for make-at-home Halloween treats that are guaranteed to put smiles on the faces of your young ones, and help you to breath a sigh of gluten-free relief.

    The recipes are gluten-free, or easily modified to be gluten-free. Remember to double-check ingredients, such as caramel (I use Kraft caramels without any issues).

    Also, many of these recipes list ingredients that acre fat-free, sugar-free, low-fat, and/or low sugar. I always ignore such instructions and include full-fat, full-sugar alternatives, but prepare according to your own tastes.

    Great ideas and I've always avoided Nestlé chocolate chips (the fudge recipe is what I'm referring to) so am glad to see they're now gluten-free. (Not the butterscotch, though.)

    It also turns out that scientists with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in Manhattan, Kansas, have developed a process that produces a high-quality, gluten-free bread.

    Celiac.com 02/08/2013 - In an article for Fox News, Hans von Spakovsky, a senior fellow at the right-wing Heritage Foundation, ridicules the idea that the Department of Justice (DoJ) should use its weight to force colleges and universities to accommodate students with food allergies under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
    At issue is a settlement the DoJ obtained with Lesley University in Massachusetts, which had allegedly violated the Americans with Disabilities Act by not adequately accommodating students with food allergies.

    Celiac.com 11/29/2013 - The worldwide market for gluten-free products market will continue to grow, reaching $6.2 billion by 2018, according to a new report from Markets and Markets.
    Gluten-free bakery and confectionery products represent 46% of total gluten-free product sales, followed by gluten-free snacks at 20%.
    The North American market racked up about 59% of total global gluten-free sales, according to the report.
    Conventional sales channels accounted for the highest volume of of global gluten-free product sales.
    Also, the trends show that major gluten-free players like Hain Celestial, Inc., General Mills, Inc., Amy’s Kitchen, Inc. and Boulder Brands will continue to have a heavy market presence into the foreseeable future.
