J.D.'s Best Gluten Free Pizza is Handmade

J.D.'s Best Gluten Free Pizza is Handmade -

Celiac.com 03/03/2010 - J.D.'s Best Gluten Free Pizza really lives up to the name. Handmade in a dedicated gluten-free facility, J.D.'s Best Gluten Free Pizza is incredible! Even my gluten loving boyfriend said it was one of the best pizza's he had ever eaten, gluten-free or not.

As all pizza lovers know, it is impossible to find a gluten-free pizza that actually tastes like real pizza. Too often we choke down the gluten-free versions of so called“pizza” and accept begrudgingly that gluten-free also means flavor and texture-free. J.D.'s Best Gluten Free Pizza puts that theory to shame, and proves that gluten-free pizza does not have tobe flavor or texture free.

    Celiac.com Sponsor (A12):
J.D.'s Best Gluten Free Pizza crust is perfect, not too thick, not too thin. The texture, as all good pizza crusts should be, is crunchy and chewy on the outside and soft and fluffy in the center. Each pre-sliced piece is as good as the next, loaded with delicious sauce, plenty of cheese and the option for meat if you so desire.

Not only does J.D.'s Best make some of the best gluten free pizza's around, they also deliver anywhere in the U.S.A., directly to your door. Convenient and delicious...truly a gluten-free pizza lovers dream come true!

Finding a good gluten free ice cream cone turned out to be a real obstacle for me. Either they held up well, but tasted like cardboard, or they had a good flavor but were extremely brittle.  I almost gave up on my search for a great gluten-free cone, but then I tried Joy's Gluten-free Sugar Ice Cream Cones.  Joy Cones have such a nice crisp texture and are strong enough to hold up to my eight-year-old's scooping skills. Not to mention that they taste amazing!  I even catch my non-celiac kids dipping into my stash.

For my first gluten-free baking experience, I made vanilla cupcakes with orange-flavored frosting using Gluvana Complete Gluten-Free All Purpose Mix. I also made a batch of gluten-containing cupcakes using the same recipe to allow for comparison. I didn't do blind taste testing or anything like that, but I can honestly say that the cupcakes made with Gluvana's flour were better.
Open Original Shared LinkThe gluten-free cupcakes had a pleasant consistency and a hint of a cornbread-like flavor that complimented the orange frosting well. The wheat flour cupcakes seemed dense and flavorless in comparison. I'm going to try subbing Gluvana into some other recipes to test its other applications, but thus far I am very impressed!
Note: be sure to omit baking powder from your recipes, as Gluvana...

I tried Bold Organics' Deluxe Gluten-Free Pizza yesterday, and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. It includes pepperoni, Italian sausage, roasted peppers, onions, Shiitake mushrooms, etc., and it tastes great. As with their other pizzas, they use soy cheese which makes this pizza also milk/lactose-free, as well as gluten-free, so many people will be happy about this. I really could not tell that the cheese on this pizza was non-dairy, as it melted perfectly and tasted fine.
Since many celiacs also have issue with casein, I am certain there will be a lot of happy customers for this pizza!

Guthrie's Original Sin In A Tin Chocolate Pate Dessert is a wonderfully decadent treat that is perfect after any meal—it will make any occasion feel like a special one—including birthdays, holidays or any other day that you would like to make more memorable.
The taste of this wonderfully chocolaty confection reminded me of my favorite flour-less chocolate cake, but it was even better because it was more creamy and less dense. This is the type of dessert you would typically associate with a fine dining establishment, after paying too much for a meal, but now you can have it at home—and just in time for Valentine's Day!
