It seems like everytime i find something i like my hair starts falling out again, or my skin breaks out...and if i quit using it it stops. I think it is possible i have celiac and the gluten allergy. which makes life so much better. Is there like a group or club for people with celiac, because I need some serious knowledge fast. I am feeling alot better now that I am on the Gluten free diet, but there are still so many questions on what is okay and what isnt. Right now i stick to what my mom let me eat when i was a child, and call her and ask her if something is okay, but since she is far away, it would be nice to have people who know here to help me out and other people around the area.

Christmas Presents

Okay so me and my boyfriend totally cheated and opened our Christmas presents early! since it is after all just us and our dogs, neither of us has family out here in North Carolina, so we decided what the heck...Anyhow to the point, he is the sweetest, he got me the book, Living Gluten Free For Dummies!!! now a lot of people laughed when i told them that is what he got me, but i absolutely love it! It shows that he put some thought in to his gift, and that he wants to help me be successful in going gluten free! I guess people who can eat it all just dont understand, also my boss went to a Mediterranean store here in Fayetteville and bought me a bunch of gluten free food for my present, again people laughed, but I absolutely love it! its nice that the people around me are so thoughtful and willing to put out the money so I can live a healthier life. For those of you who are just starting gluten free diets, I suggest this book, it has a few recipes, there is also many gluten free cook books which are next on my list. I have only read a few chapters from this book and have already learned so much from it. I hope all of you have an amazing holiday season! and a blessed new year!

Jodi

Shampoos?

I forgot to add this in, has anyone else had a problem with shampoos and conditioners? I was using Treseme, and my hair started falling out really badly, read the ingredients and number 2 on the list was wheat something, I have quit using Treseme completely and my hair is growing back... I was told as long as you don't ingest it that it wasn't supposed to harm, so does anyone know why that would happen? I mean the results are clearly that i cant use it, since my hair was falling out, im talking clumps here, and now it is back to normal.... Any thoughts?

Random Thoughts

Ok so I was at Walmart a couple of weeks ago and was looking at the rice cakes, which are like stale cardboard (but since I can eat them I love them) and ran into a lady who's daughter has celiac as well. It was really amazing, I had never met anyone with the disease, other than myself of course, and being new to North Carolina, she gave me some really good advice about where to shop. I know she will probably never run across this, but I just wanted to thank her for all her help and great ideas, she made me realize that it is not a punishment to have to eat different than everyone else, that I too can have the "good stuff", I just have to learn how to make it. So to her, Thank you and GOD BLESS!
