Homemade Yogurt Resolves Irritable Bowel Symptoms in Most Patients
Celiac.com 01/24/2018 - Irritable bowel syndrome can be a frustrating condition for both patients and doctors. It can be difficult to diagnose, and the symptoms can be unpleasant, to say the least. For many people with IBS, medication does not adequately treat the symptoms. Many people just suffer and live with the IBS and its symptoms.
Now, a new study may bring some hope to people with IBS. The study was conducted by Manju Girish Chandran, and colleagues from the Mary Breckinridge ARH Hospital in Hyden, Kentucky. For the study, 189 patients consumed 2 to 3 cups of homemade yogurt every day and recorded their symptoms. Their responses were assessed every 2 months for 6 months.
At the end of the study, 169 patients saw their IBS go into remission within 6 months. And these weren't...

Chobani and Over a Dozen Top Gluten-Free Yogurt Brands
Celiac.com 04/29/2021 - We get a lot of questions from celiac community members wondering if certain products are gluten-free. We recently answered a question about Chobani yogurt, which offers numerous gluten-free options.

    Is Yogurt Gluten-Free?
Celiac.com 07/06/2022 - We get a lot of questions from celiac community members wondering if certain products are gluten-free. Lately, we've seen a lot of questions about which top brands of yogurt are gluten-free and safe for people with celiac disease.
Specifically, is yogurt gluten-free and safe for people with celiac disease?
Yogurt is one of those foods that is usually formulated to be gluten-free. So, unless gluten ingredients are added during processing, most all yogurt is likely to be gluten-free, and safe for people with celiac disease.
Exceptions will be yogurt products that include wheat, barley or rye ingredients, for example yogurt with granola included, and any gluten ingredients will usually be clearly labeled.
At the end of the day, we regard ...

    Brands of Gluten-Free Pickles
Celiac.com 11/01/2022 - We've been seeing a lot of questions wondering if pickles are gluten-free? The answer is that most are. Here's the rundown.
Pickles are wonderful things. Nearly every culture makes some kind of pickle. Pickles are probiotic, delicious, nutritious, and good for your digestion. Pickles can be made with just vegetables and salt, but often include water, vinegar, various herbs and spices, and sometimes sugar.
In the United States when most people think of pickles, they think of the dill pickles they see in stores. These pickles are made with cucumbers, saltwater brine, distilled or other vinegar and spices, including dill, garlic, peppers, and are usually naturally gluten-free.
In reality, nearly any kind of vegetable can be pickled, including ...
