Celiac.com 05/14/2012 - Petit Bites Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Coconut Nibbles are not your traditional coconut macaroon, and maybe that's why I might just consider it my favorite.

They have a beautifully golden shell on the outside, and a soft and chewy coconut inside, mixed with enough chocolate chips to satisfy any chocolate lover. The best part is that I don't feel guilty after indulging in a few. They are made with only five pure ingredients (sweet potato is actually second on the ingredient list, but you'd never know) and are free from preservatives, trans fats and cholesterol. They are a must try if you love coconut and chocolate!

Great news for anyone who is not only on a gluten-free diet: Bold Organics Veggie Lovers Pizza is also dairy-free and vegan. This pizza is topped generously with organic roasted peppers, onions, shiitake mushrooms and Follow Your Heart's vegan mozzarella cheese. My kids didn't even question the dairy-free cheese and just dug right in. This thin crust pizza baked up beautifully, and we all loved the flavor and the texture! Not to mention that this is a wonderful treat for those with additional food allergies for it is also free from peanuts, tree nuts and eggs.

I am not a fan of any flavored gluten-free instant oatmeal, but Apple Pie Flavored Instant Oatmeal from Bakery On Main is the exception to my rule. There are no artificial flavors and they only use real dried apples and cinnamon which gives it a true homemade comfort taste.

Who said gluten-free frozen foods never taste good and fresh? When I had my first bite of Amy's Broccoli and Cheddar Bake I could not believe that it was a frozen product. The tender rice pasta was coated with a creamy, aged English cheddar sauce, and the green organic broccoli tasted very fresh and crisp, and it was a very healthy addition. This product is not only gluten-free, but is also high in protein, vitamin A, C, calcium, and good source of iron, so it's very nutritious.

I would defiantly feel good serving it to my whole family at any meal time. It is very easy to prepare—I simply just remove the over-wrap and put the bowl into the oven, wait a few minutes and our meal is ready! I would recommend cooking these in a conventional oven for an even better taste.

I'll keep these on hand for my family. I would say that this is a five star gluten-free frozen food, and the best broccoli and cheddar bake I have tasted. I would like to say thank you to Amy's for creating this gluten-free meal with all the flavor and goodness of homemade cooking.

I recently discovered Bold Organics gluten-free and dairy-free Meat Lovers Thin Crust Pizza. There are very few gluten and dairy-free pizzas on the market, but I have to say that this was the best that I have tried to date. I just put the frozen pizza on the top rack of my oven for about 20 minutes, and you could almost tell when it was done as the aroma drifted into our living room.

Open Original Shared LinkThe crust was a beautiful, crisp, and thin crust, and I had no idea that non-dairy cheese could actually melt the same way as regular dairy cheese. This pizza was prepared with plenty of pepperoni and Italian sausage to cover the entire pizza, and there was no skimping on ingredients!

Once I cut myself a slice I was in disbelief that this was not only a gluten-free, but was also a dairy-free pizza. The taste, texture and the quality of the pepperoni and sausage was top notch, and not that of your typical frozen gluten-free pizza. Even though I do not have any issues with dairy, I will definitely be purchasing this pizza again. Thumbs up from my whole family!

Celiac.com 03/09/2012 - I just discovered a gluten free Kosher (for Passover) Cookbook that is primarily based for those who follow Ashkenazi traditions. It has over 90 gluten-free passover recipes and is the first recipe book that I have found to be kosher as well as gluten-free. The content of this book ranges from appetizers to main dishes, including vegetarian meals. I really liked that most of the recipes have a "variation" at the end of the section which allows you to change the recipe based on dietary requirements and taste preference. It could only be improved by adding "gluten-free" to certain ingredients that are used in some of the recipes.

Celiac.com 01/31/2012 - Traditionally, Matzo (also known as Matzah or Matza) is an unleavened bread that is eaten during the week-long Jewish holiday known as Passover. However, I just found an amazing gluten-free matzo that I will be sure to have on hand year-round.

Yehuda's Gluten-free Matzo is imported from Israel and is not only Kosher for Passover (Orthodox Union Parve), but it is also certified gluten-free! These crackers are made as a large cracker sheet (approx 7” x 7”) and they have such a wonderful crunch and flakiness to them, and contain just the right amount of salt. Compared with most gluten-free crackers I've had these are lower in both salt and sugar, and they would be perfect to set out for any guests on any occasion (gluten-free or not).

Other than the size of the gluten-free matzo, their taste and texture are the closest thing to a "Saltine" cracker that I have tried since going gluten-free over nine years ago. My only complaint would be that there were a few pieces of the gluten-free matzo that arrived broken, but I would have broken them down into smaller pieces anyhow, so it wasn't a big deal.

In my opinion the taste of these gluten-free crackers is wonderful. They can be enjoyed on their own, or topped with cheese or meat, or you could crumble them up and put them on top of your favorite dish. I am just so happy to finally have found a gluten-free cracker that tastes great and is versatile, and one that my picky gluten-free two-year-old actually likes to eat as well. I also can't wait to get creative with them in the kitchen and begin using them for things like breaded coatings for fried chicken, toppings for soups and salads and as a basic ingredient in my favorite recipes.

I recently tried Jovial Foods' Gluten-Free Organic Brown Rice Penne Rigate Pasta and was looking forward making my Grandmother's baked ziti dish using this penne rigate pasta. Since I am super sensitive to gluten, I love the fact that Jovial Foods make their pasta in a dedicated gluten free facility and that it is also certified gluten-free.

I cooked the pasta just a few minutes under the required time on the packaging, since it would also be baked after. When I sampled the pasta by itself, I was very pleased by the taste and texture. After my tasting of Jovial Foods gluten free pasta, I had high hopes that my Grandmother's dish would finally turn out—not only for those that are gluten free in my family— but one that I can serve to those that are not on a gluten-free diet.

When I took the dish from the oven it looked beautiful! When I scooped out each serving, the pasta held its shape remarkably well, and everyone was excited to dig in. Jovial's Brown Rice Penne Rigate was a success and sadly we didn't have any left overs, but I know I will be making this dish with Jovial's pasta again soon.

Needing extra protein in your gluten-free diet? Then I would highly suggest trying biPro's gluten-free unflavored whey protein. It is usually hard enough for me to find a gluten free-protein powder, but it is even more difficult to find one that is versatile and doesn't clump. Recently I tried biPro and I decided to just pour some of the protein powder in my cup of chocolate milk and just mixed it up with a spoon. Unless you try this for yourself, you probably won't believe me when I say that the chocolate milk tasted just like chocolate milk and the powder dissolved beautifully.

I was very surprised when I received a care package of Hail Merry's gluten-free blonde macaroons. I absolutely love coconut and have always had bit of a sweet tooth, but in the past I haven't always had the best of luck with gluten-free macaroons. Usually, I find macaroons to be way too sweet, high in fat and calories or the texture is just wrong. Despite the charming packaging that contained these macaroons, I still had my doubts – but who am I kidding? I love coconut!

Open Original Shared LinkWhen I took my first bite I noticed that the texture of these macaroons was soft, slightly chewy, but not overly sweet – I guess they read my mind about my usual complaints about most macaroons – they tasted great. I found the size of each macaroon (just short of the size of a golf ball) was just the perfect size to get satisfaction for a sweet tooth like me, but the best part is that they only have 70 calories and 5.5 grams of fat each! How can this be?

Upon further reading of their packaging I noticed that Hail Merry didn't cut any corners when they developed these little bites of goodness! The ingredient list is short , wholesome and surprisingly these macaroons are not only raw and vegan, but are only lightly sweetened with maple syrup. I must also mention that shredded coconut has twice the fiber of oats, and that coconut oil is known to contribute to healthier hair, skin and can help aid proper digestion.

I absolutely loved the taste of these macaroons with their real coconut flavor and texture! These macaroons give a "junk food" taste with the quality and nutrition that you wouldn't expect from such a nice little treat – in my book they are definitely worth trying!

Celiac.com 11/04/2011 - I had to do a double take when I saw a that JD's Best made a gluten-free microwave or oven baked personal sized pizza! How in the world can they make a gluten-free microwavable pizza? I was a bit skeptical since it is hard enough to find a gluten-free pizza that I can pop in the oven and fully enjoy, let a lone one that I could microwave. I decided to give JD's Best Microwave/Ovenbake Personal Gluten-Free Pizza a try – one from the microwave and one from the oven.

Included in their packaging was a silver disk that is used to crisp the crust for those who choose the microwave method. After 15 minutes the oven pizza was ready, compared to only 2.5 minutes for the microwave version. Both pizzas had ample sauce (which is usually one of my biggest complaints about packaged pizzas), and the cheese was bubbling, hot and flavorful. Both pizzas had a crispy crust on the bottom, and the only real difference I noticed was that the one from the oven was a bit more crispy on the top compared with the microwave version.

What a great option for anyone on a gluten free diet!

Amy's recently came out with their "Sonoma" Veggie Burger, which is not only gluten free, but soy and dairy free as well. The Sonoma veggie burger is packed with organic whole ingredients so there was a level of comfort knowing exactly what I would be putting into my body. I am not a vegetarian, but I am trying to eat more health consciously, so I thought I would give them a try.

I piled on the fixings and was about to dig in when the smell had lured my two non-celiac, meat-eating children into the kitchen (despite the fact that they had just eaten). I gave them each a bite and both girls said it was good. My youngest actually requested that I make Amy's veggie burgers next time it's burger night – no lie!
