    Gluten in Medicine Disclosure Bill Hits the Senate
    Celiac.com 01/29/2020 - After a long time in the making, and much effort, a bill that will require drug makers to label gluten in drugs is now officially in the lap the United States Senate. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) recently introduced S.3021: Gluten in Medicine Disclosure Act of 2019 to the Senate. 
    The proposed law makes it easier to identify gluten in prescription drugs. We've written over the years about gluten in prescription drugs, and how to find out if your drugs or medicines contains gluten.
    Under the Proposed Law
    Drug manufacturers would be required to label medications intended for human use with the list of ingredients, their source, and whether gluten is present. Sorry, but there is no coverage for pet medicines just yet.

    FDA Issues New Guidelines for Celiac Drug Trials
    Celiac.com 07/04/2022 - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a set of new guidelines for companies doing celiac disease drug trials. The agency noted that the guidance is intended only to provide clarity regarding existing requirements, and should be viewed solely as recommendations, unless they mention specific regulations or laws.
    The FDA directs sponsors of trials for clinical drugs to ensure the following regarding celiac disease patients on a gluten-free diet:
    Trial population
    Patients should undergo diagnostic esophagogastroduodenoscopy, with multiple biopsies to confirm celiac diagnosis. The biopsies should include one or two samples of the duodenal bulb and at least four samples of the distal duodenum.

However, I was unable to do the full reintroduction process because I went off the AIP diet when I got pregnant and was experiences chronic nausea...

      They did. I was doing a lot better on the AIP diet.       Hi Trent! Thanks so much for your warm welcome and questions! They do, but these symptoms have been ongoing for a long time before the pregnancy. However, it's hard for me to know what's a celiac response vs. a Hashimotos one. I haven't, maybe it's worth getting those checked again?

      Welcome to the forum, @Maura Gissen! Don't those same symptoms often come along with the territory when pregnant? And then throw in Hashimoto's. Have you had your celiac antibody levels checked recently?
