Reaction To Rice Cakes, Rice Chex

Recommended Posts

So I wish this journey was as easy as just cutting gluten out of my diet. I also found out I am allergic to dairy and soy. so even with that, just cut them out, don't eat them. that's what I thought then. well, no, not that easy now.

I guess I am super sensitive, hooray.

when I first started after my diagnosis's I had no problem cutting these things out. I was so happy not to be sick, that I actually didn't mind at all. I never eat out really, always bring my own food. I am getting used to it, so is my family. I was eating things like rice chex, rice cakes with no problems.

now, after I had these a few times, I am noticing feeling low level glutening. not full out, but definitely a feeling of nausea and fogginess.

I guess I know that rice is an issue, I am just feeling like every week I cross more things off my list. hope you didn't mind my unloading here. have a great day.

Rice chex has vitamins that are derived from soy.

Rice cakes can be cc'd.

Try a plain bowl of rice and see how you do.

thanks!

the rice cakes are Lundberg, allegedly gluten-free facility

I will try plain rice

Once you start reacting to other things, it can be a long process to figure out exactly what it going on.  It is very helpful to keep a food/symptom journal.  Sometimes you want to go back several months and it is just too hard to remember.  It can be contamination with gluten, or it can be other intolerances, or even other conditions.

In my case, it was low level gluten contamination.  What helped me was to go to produce and unprocessed meats.  Later on I had to go further, but my that time I had an understanding of what was going on which made that process easier.

Once you get things figured out, the improved health really makes it worth all the trouble.
