Do Legumes Cause Inflammation?

Recommended Posts

It depends.  If you are having trouble digesting foods high in lectins, then yes.  If you tolerate legumes, then eat them -- they are an excellent source of nutrients.

Haven't had beans in days now and feel better...So I'm unsure. Could have been just too much fiber I guess. It's hard to say. Right now I'm eating salmon...sweet potato and carrot. I'm eating moderate to low salicylate food. Perhaps I will test out low lectin moderate to low sal while trying to get variety and then add something high lectin and see what happens.

If you feel better the past few days...I suggest you leave them out for a month...then trial them for one day...waiting three days before you trial anything else.
