Strange Sensation In Neck, Anyone Have This?

I was hoping someone on this board might be able to relate and point me in the proper direction. :)

Over the past few months I have had a strange sensation on the left side of my neck. Sometimes it' s near the base of the neck and sometimes near the jawline? I am thinking maybe a muscle. I went to the doctor for this and he recommended a specialist. My lymph nodes were not swollen and I tested fine for thyroid issues. The feeling is not really a numbess, not really an ache and not really swollen. It's a combination of those feelings and something I've never felt before and not able to explain properly. :)

So, of course the ENT thought I was crazy and was more concerned with my sinus issues. Maybe related? I don't know.

I don't really know if this is related to Celiac or not but I was just curious if anyone's ever experienced anything similar and could point me to any reading about it.

When it gets really bad it keeps me up at night. I also get this feeling in my arms. Not really numbness and not really pain. Like a heavy/goosebump/flushing feeling. My mind also starts racing and I have to calm down and just go to sleep. It takes a while.

The only thing different in my life is that I did get a kitty recently who I've been keeping in the spare room until I can get here on the grain free food. I've pet her and shown her love a couple times but be sure to wash my hands after. But who knows?

Thanks for any advice!

Could be a pinched nerve? That's the first thing that comes to mind, especially if you're having tingly fingers too.

Some Celiacs do have peripheral neuropathy (tingling/numbness in extremities) as a symptom, but I have no idea if that affects other parts of the body.

Not sure if sinus issues could cause neck pain like you're describing, but I do know that food sensitivities (for me its dairy/soy, on top of gluten) can cause/aggravate sinus issues.

As for your kitty, if you're being careful and washing your hands after feeding/playing, you should be ok.

Hopefully someone else will have better advice.

Don't know if this is it of course, but some people with celiac develop Hashimoto's thyroidits.  it is an autoimmune condition that attacks the thyroid.  Your doctor can test you for TPO antibodies to check for Hashimoto's.  Sometimes people report a warmth on the throat, or swelling.  The thyroid wraps around the base of the neck to both sides.  Symptoms can be on just one side at a time tho.

I have MS and i sometimes get a sensation that goes down the back of my neck. It feels like when you get your reflexes checked. Like a buzzing electrical jolt. It's called L'Hermmittes sign i think. It happens especially if you bend your head forward.
