"tummy Aches" In 4 Yr Old 1 Month Gluten Free

Recommended Posts

My 4 yr old has been gluten-free 1 month since being diagnosed with celiac. She is still complaining of "tummy aches" every now & then, but not every day. Is she getting gluten accidentally? Or do I just need to be more patient and this is normal?

I'm paranoid I missing something and feeding her gluten!

You may just need more patience.  Unfortunately, one month gluten-free isn't very long.

Is she dairy free?  From personal experience I can confidently say that milk can really hurt a stomach.  Lactose intolerance is extremely common among celiacs at diagnosis. Many celiacs can eat dairy again after 6 or more months gluten-free.

Best wishes.
