Thanks for this tip. I was wondering if there was anything that could be done.  How long do you soak it for?  Does it matter how much water you use? Sorry - just want to make sure I'm doing it right.

I've not been doing it either, but I've just read the BBC research and have resolved to do it in future! I like rice and have the coconut milk which is rice based too. So I'm probably as at risk as anyone...

You need 5:1 water and pre and post rinsing as well as the soaking. This blogger has collected the advice:
