Are Omniceft and Polytussin gluten free

My 7 yr old son is sick, he was prescribed Polytussin and Omniceft.  The pharmacy can't find a way to look up the meds to see if they are gluten free.  My go to pharmacist isn't there today....  Do you have any information on these medications?

These two drugs are not listed in the glutenfreedrugs.com list that is one source (see link below).  You probably need to call the manufacturer yourself or check their website.  Your pharmacy should be able to call for you or at least call their pharm representative.  I would ask another pharmacy and stop shopping at this one?  Or you could ask your doctor to write the presciption to say gluten free and to not specify a brand.

i am sorry that there is not an easier solution.  I had to call six pharmacies before I found a gluten-free version of amoxicillin in stock just two months ago.  What a headache!

I was able to get the ingredient information along with seeing the bottles from the pharmacy.  The Polytussin is labeled gluten free on the container as well in the ingredients.  Omniceft had gluten free ingredients, I called the company that makes it and they stated that it was gluten free.

Glad it worked out.  Hope your son feels better fast!
