Ken,

Thanks for posting this......I think ?.    I subscribed and am now appalled at the amount of recalls for allergens (FDA and USDA).  .  Glad there are recalls, but still......   Maybe ignorance is bliss!

Ditto as cycling lady says. However not to bring scary to horror level but....

I too am glad about them too but my fear is sometimes quite a bit of damage can be done to more people then their should be etc. Before that  recall occurs. Transparency, vigilance of sourcing and testing, and proper record keeping. The regulator can't regulate if the above measures are lacking or sub par. So at least the ones who can do a recall at least keep records but must look at sourcing/testing etc.

That's a whole other discussion.

My other pet peeve is the regulatory agencies not acknowledging corn should be added to the list aka the 9th.

But most on celiac.com seem to be loyal to the brands that are loyal to us and consider transparency good business. Some business are less so and possibly use the loop holes and give the run around since only the 8 allergens of labeling are required. They need options of sourcing and to label so strictly is not desirable. Sigh

I am thankful to the poster who talks about Larabars (I think might be you cycling lady?)

They have become a safe staple in our house (for myself and my son) and on the go.

Keep the recalls coming Ken. We appreciate it.
