Hi

I live in the US. we use Corn flour and amaranth flour to make roti. There is any other flour to make roti. bcoz amaranth is a little expensive for us. and being punjabi we eat roti a lot and parantha too. so if anyone knows in US. from where we can get flour to make roti on cheap price. or any other website from where we could get all flour on good price.

Hello and welcome!

my first thought is to try to find a spice store near you. Here where I live there are 2 spice bazaar stores that sell spices, flours, rice, etc in bulk, making it much cheaper than a grocery store. We love curries, so we are always going there to try new blends.

Hope this helps a little!

ps could you post your roti recipe? We also love breads ! Naan, paratha, etc are so delicious. I would love to know how you cook  breads for celiac.

I can not help you with a cheaper price (google it), but if you have celiac disease, I would make sure the alternative gluten free flours are not milled with gluten flours by calling the manufacturer.    I personally make sure that my gluten-free flours are certified gluten free.  I do not worry about a can of tomatoes.  Odds are the contents are just tomatoes and have not been exposed to gluten during the manufacturing process.

Be careful about buying from open bins in a store.  Chances for cross contamination are great!  We had a member here who smartly requested access to unopened bags each time she went into a store and bypassed the open bins.  The store was really nice about it.

Try to order from Indian Sweets and Spices  in the Silver Lake Area of Los Angles.  Also many stores in Chicago that have millet and amaranth. I make  Ragi roti  but buy the  ragi in LA

good luck
