Bath and BOdy EOrks

I have used bath and body works products for years. On Saturday I bought a new product from then and used it. It is the Cocoa Shea Cucumber. After being in the cold gor 2 days, I lathered this all over myself. The next morning I had to miss church because I looked like an Umpa Lumpa. My entire body was swollen and I had rashes and hives.

I have never ever reacted to anything like this. I ALWAYS watch what’s I eat. I looked at the ingedients and it didn’t say the normal “this product contains wheat milk and soy”. The ingredients were so small I couldn’t read it, my husband had to.

To my disbelief...they put WHEAT in this product. I checked all the other lotions from BBW in my house and none of them had wheat!

Now to further extend my disbelief, because of this 1 product, I am now the proud owner of 2 EpiPens and a prescription that would have cost me $564.00. Thank the lord that I have insurance.

I love my BBW but you better believe that we are in talked about warning labels on their items.

I am sorry that you had an allergic reaction.  It is so frightening!  Are you sure it was wheat?  If yes, you must be extra careful about everything that surrounds you.  Celiacs need only worry about gluten that is ingested.  An allergy to wheat?  Just touching your skin can cause a reaction.

You can be both celiac and have a wheat allergy!  Though this is not common.

Please, take the time to train your family on how to use your EPI pen.  Consider keeping one in your purse in a small brightly colored bag (labeled) that can easily be found.  The other can be secured to the inside of your kitchen cupboard.  Make sure everyone knows the location of them.   We have used EPI pens many times in our family.  I hope your pens expire and that you never need to use them!

Consider a Road ID (check out their website).  It might be useful if you were ever unconscious or traveling through Kansas!  ?

Take care!
