Glutened?

Hey everyone! My names Shelby, I’m 21 and I went gluten free about 3 weeks ago. My mom has been gluten free for 8 years and now I chose to do it as well following a rash outbreak that my mom said looked like what she used to get before she chose a gluten free life.

So I’ve done really well with gluten free eating and I’ve been feeling so so much better. So last night my husband and I went out for dinner at a local restaurant, and I ordered all gluten free foods and then baked beans. The baked beans were thicker and i took a big bite of them and didn’t think about whether it may or may not of had gluten until after it was consumed.. oops. Fast forward to today I felt fine up until about 5pm..  I now have a migraine, dizziness, brain fog, my joints and muscles are stiff and sore, I have not had a good bowel movement today (constipation), I’ve been very irritated all day, and tired. My stomach has ached off and on all day today but nothing crazy. I should add that since going gluten free I haven’t had a migraine or headache and my other symptoms have lessened significantly! So do you guys think these mystery baked beans had gluten in them? Or maybe I’m just catching my husbands sick germs he’s had? Thanks!

Edit : All their food is made in house. These are not canned baked beans.

Maybe they were thickened with flour--a way to extend them at low cost. Hard to know at a restaurant, especially a local independent.  Cross contamination from other dishes prepared in the same kitchen is also a possibility.

Up til 3 months ago constipation used to be my major indicator for CC issues, a would up my dose of Natural vitality calm a bit to (Magnesium Citrate) to loosen it up a bit back then. Had to change to a glycinate recently as I now deal with D. Anyway the C in part is from magnesium difeincy is is made worse by damaged gut and glutenings.

What else did you have at that restaurant? They could have thickened the beans with flour or cooked them in the same pot they did pasta in, or used a shared ladle for serving them etc. You want to avoid eating out at non dedicated or trained restaurants for a while when going gluten free. Reactions for many become more sensitive and severe after going gluten free and starting the heal.
