An unusually late period

I have been gluten free for 3 years. Before I was diagnosed with celiac, my period would last 3 days and only happen once every other month. It started to normalize once I took gluten out of my diet.

Recently, I believe I’ve been glutened somehow because I am extremely tired, my head hurts, and my anxiety seems to be through the roof. Not only that, but my period is two weeks late. I’m curious as to whether or not one instance of being glutened has be possibility of wrecking my cycle? Or maybe this is just a rare instance in which it truly is late and all my symptoms are because of it being late?

Note: im not malnourished nor is there any chance of me being pregnant.

the only way to be sure you are not pregnant, is that you were totally abstinent.  something has altered you hormones, see a doc.

What ended up happening? This same thing is happening to me right now, I got glutened and my period is super late.

@Averypolk- I bet that gluten can mess with your cycle by stressing your body.  I never had a period during finals week when I was a student.  Same thing happened to my teen.  Stress can get you, mental or physical.

Of course, there is a possibility you could be pregnant.  But only you would know that.

Welcome to the forum, @SuzanneL! Which tTG was that? tTG-IGA? tTG-IGG? Were there other celiac antibody tests run from that blood draw? Was total IGA measured? By some chance were you already cutting back on gluten by the time the blood draw was taken or just not eating much? For the celiac antibody tests to be accurate a person needs to be eating about 10g of gluten daily which is about 4-6 pieces of bread.

I've recently received a weak positive tTG, 6. For about six years, I've been sick almost everyday. I was told it was just my IBS. I have constant nausea. Sometimes after I eat, I have sharp, upper pain in my abdomen. I sometimes feel or vomit (bile) after eating. The doctor wanted me to try a stronger anti acid before doing an endoscopy. I'm just curious if these symptoms are pointing towards Celiac Disease?

I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through. It must be really frustrating and uncomfortable. Have you talked to your healthcare provider about these sudden sweating episodes? It might be helpful to discuss this with them to rule out any other underlying issues or to see if there are specific strategies or treatments that can help manage this symptom. Additionally, staying hydrated and wearing breathable clothing may provide some relief.
