Ok, so my mom comes home with these cool lemon burst organic food bars and they said gluten free and she said to try it. So I looked and it said gluten free so I took a bite. Ok, so I decided hey this is good let's see whats in it....it said GLUTEN FREE OAT FIBER!!! Ok, they should not be clearly labeling it gluten free with that in my opinion. I wonder where they got the oats and if it was the "contaminated" or "pure" ones...it doesn't really matter because I did start feeling bad...so all of you beware about this. They will be hearing from me very soon

ALWAYS check the ingredients before eating it...even if it says gluten free.

Wow Kaiti--thanks for the heads up! How do they get away with putting gluten free on the label and using oats? Can't wait to hear what they have to say. Feel better :)

Yikes Kaiti, thanks for the heads up, although I think I had run into a problem with that company and their labeling before (they had labeled something gluten free that had WHEAT STARCH in the ingredients) When I called them they said that was the old formula but the labeling hadn't been perfected yet. I told them I don't trust them and never will.

Thanks for the heads up. It is stupid and unfair when companies do that - yes, individuals need to take responsibility for what goes into their bodies, but it is so easy to slip up and not read, esp. when they so obviously labeled it gluten-free. Not fair, esp. considering what we have to go through to avoid eating gluten ..... For our sakes, I hope you aren't too nice to them about it  Shhh....I didn't really type that ;)

Anyway, hope you feel better soon.

I am so sorry! I hate that!! I had seen something once that said gluten free/casein free and on the ingredients whey and caseing were listed!! What the heck? IT is awful! Thanks for the warning!

What was the brand name of those bars? I hope that you didn't get too sick from them and are feeling better now :( I'm very dissapointed in the companies that stamp "gluten free" on their products when they really do have gluten in them. I have also been glutened by a product with gluten free on the label.

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.

My daughter has celiac disease and has had for a long time. She fell loses strictly gluten-free diet and recently got rid of all cutting boards in any gluten in her house at all. She just had a stool test and it came back showing of gigantic response to gluten in her diet. What could be going on since she doesn't eat any gluten and is very careful about any kind of hidden glue? Help!
