Jessica,

I know this is probably too late for you to read, but I just wanted to post to support you and let you know that it really isn't as bad as you think....... the prep work is worse than the actual procedure!!!

Please post and let us know how you are doing afterward.....

Hugs and good luck!

Karen

Jessica-

Don't worry!! An endscopy is pretty painless--being hungry is the worst part! It is a quick procedure to go thru to end up on a road to better health. Don't worry about going gluten-free either. Take it one step at a time. There are literally hundreds of people here who were in your shoes, overwhelmed, not knowing where to start, and now the gluten-free lifestyle seems 'old hat' most of the time. You will figure it out--it will take some time, but you have some great resources here. Also ck into a local support group in your area...and I highly recommend buying a copy of "Wheat Free, Worry Free" by Danna Korn--it will educate you on many facets of the diet and lifestyle. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Jessica, The prep for this procedure is actually worse than the actual procedure. Once I got past the prep and the IV, and was wheeled into the room, I talked to my doctor for a minute, and BAM! I woke up and it was over. I have had worse trips to just go and have my blood drawn. Believe me, it is not that bad. I am pretty new to this forum, but you will find that there is alot of support here, and everyone will help you along the way with your diet and the emotional side of this whole thing. Just know that once you start this new lifestyle, the way you start feeling, will be the biggest driving force to keep you on this diet and way of life. It will be difficult, but some people handle it much better than others, and you just may be one of those people who just takes it with a grain of salt!!! I, myself, on the other hand, am one of those emotional wrecks, but you will find that sometimes the ones feeling the same way are the ones who give you the support you need.
