Can CElilac disease cause hair to fall out!  Mine is getting thinner and Thinner . And i am not sure what is causing it.  Had a blood test to see if lack of Vitamin D might be the cause but by vitamin D levels were good!

Hi Jeannette,

I also experienced hair loss. I believe mine is due to an iron deficiency from Celiac Disease - my ferritin was in the 20's for some time (which is odd because I am a male and eat meat) but I have been supplementing for two months and ferritin just got tested and is at 63! I would check your iron levels. I wonder has anybody else experienced this symptom?

Jeanette,

I had been experiencing hair loss & thinning hair for a couple of years & thought it was the result of chemo (I had been bald) some years ago.  My HB had been very low but not my ferrite.  However, once diagnosed as celiac (biopsy) in April '18 I started taking sublingual B12 twice a day & my hair is really thickening & much more healthy looking.  No bald patches!  BTW I'm 73 years old so this makes me very happy!
