New Years Eve Drinks

Hello Every one

Well, New Years is coming up, and I haven't had any alcohol since my diagnose. I have a few questions and would appreciate it if you guys can help out. Is all wine gluten free? (if not can suggest some that are) How about rum and vodkas? One of my favorite drinks is Malibu Bay Breeze (yes i am a fruity drinker) which contains Malibu® coconut rum, cranberry juice, & pineapple juice. Would that drink be considered gluten-free? Also, are fruit juices gluten-free? Sorry for all the questions, but new years is coming soon and I just want to prepare.

Has anyone had reactions to alcoholic drinks, not because of gluten issues, but because their stomachs were too sensitive. Thanks for all your support - renee

To my knowlege, all wines should be gluten free. Light rums should ok, but I've heard that gluten can be added to dark rums. Beer is definatley out of the question. Any other alcohol you should contact the company since most other alcohols are usually made from gluten. Some people can have hard liquor made from gluten because the distilling process eliminates gluten. I personally won't drink alcohol made from gluten just in case.

As far as I know Malibu is gluten-free (but not 100% so you might want to double check that). As for vodka Smirnoff and Ketel One are gluten-free. I'm sure there are others but I basically stick to Ketel One.

Renee,

I too love Malibu Bay Breezes (I'm a girly drinker, and a light weight, so they work for me!) and I've heard that Malibu is gluten-free. Cheers!
