Endoscopy looked normal? Does this mean it’s not celiac?

There is still a chance that when the biopsies are examined under a microscope the pathologist will diagnose celiac disease.  Some newer endoscopes have better magnification than others and can see the villi during the endoscopy.

My GI told me that everything looked great on my endoscopy, but my biopsies revealed significant damage.  You have to wait for the pathologist’s report.  When I had a repeat endoscopy, my new GI had a scope that had a much more powerful magnification.  So, it depends on the scope.

Waiting is hard!

My GI told me the same. When he looked at it he said the villi looked healed after one year on a GFD. I found that odd since my blood work still indicated some antibodies were still present - improved but still not normal. However, the biopsy showed mild to moderate villous blunting. Results indicate that it was healing but will take time. Lot depends where the GI took samples which can vary. Please let us know your results.
