Hi ladies

Does anyone have a list of ing. to avoid for a gluten free diet

This is new to me...

I picked up Shoprite brand rice chex for my ds..i think he may be reacting to them

I called Shoprite and asked about ing and allergens and was told they are GLUTEN free....the 2nd ing. is barley malt extract..

Thanks, Kim

Whoever told you that those were gluten-free is sadly misinformed. Barley is an excellent dietary source of gluten, and malting does not change that. Avoid anything with barley, which frequently appears in ingredient lists as simply "malt flavor."

Here are the links to the safe and forbidden lists...

That cereal is gluteny.

The only regular brands of cereal I know of that are gluten-free are the Post fruity and cocoa pebbles. Other than that, you would need to find the ENVIROKIDZ brands... Most are gluten free. They are in lots of regular stores these days, but definitly in "health food stores".

Thanks so much

This makes me so mad....I didn't even ask specifically if they were gluten-free..when I asked about allergens the rep told, and her exact words were...they are GLUTEN FREE

I decided to double check the box for myself

I already got him 2 varieties of envirokidz cereal but I guess like a typical toddler..what he loves one day he hates the next..so I am always looking for something new/diff to spark his interest...and easy, since I also have a 9mnth to take care of

Thanks again...Kim
