How Looooong?

Recommended Posts

How long did it take you to get your energy back and for the deadly fatigue to go away!!???

How long did it take you to see even slight improvements on a gluten-free diet?

How long did it take you to be able to go back to your previous activities that you were involved in prior to being sick?

Is just over two weeks too short of time to really see improvements?

To your last question OH YEAH.

Took me over two months to feel better, but the acid poops stopped within a couple of weeks, but the D continues, even today after 6 months. Although it comes back when I feel that I have been glutened.

I took B-12 shots once a week for about a month and they really helped with the energy level.

We are all in this for the long haul. I don't expect to be physically and emotionally adjusted for at least a year.

At six months, I am now in a new stage. I feel very fragile, a little withdrawn, introspective and seriously in need of a self-pep-talk. I think we all go through stages. Take your time, be patient on press on. You will have up times and down times. In the beginning your are so busy learning and riseing up to the challenge. I still enjoy the grocery store as it is a challenge for me. There are a many bumps in the road. That is the real challenge.

I think that I am talking to myself. ....Hope this was helpful and not too down. I kinda feel that way today.

Keep on keeping on, that's the only way to go. :)

I didn't start to feel close to 100% better until about 1 year on the gluten-free diet. I was having major energy problems up until then.

I started to notice some improvement after 6 months on the diet.

I took about 2 weeks off of soccer when my energy levels were near zero. Other than that, I kept working on my master's degree throughout the whole thing and never really took any time off (maybe a day or two here and there). I probably should have though.

It's been 10 months for me and I am just now saying that I am feeling better. I am still not feeling 100% but hopefully will eventually. It was awhile before I had more good days than bad. Hang in there. It is a slow process. Be patient and stick to the diet. It might take awhile but you will feel better. :) Fatigue was one of my main symptoms. Give your body time yo heal! Your energy will come back.
