I work at a grocery store as a grocery clerk and have celiac disease. I am often putting out baking flour products or front facing the baking aisle, I sometimes find that when I am facing the baking aisle or putting out baking flour at work  it makes me super itchy. Any tips tricks or idea of what could be my problem ?

I was not clear on a previous post. I tried to make a post on something similar to this but I was missing important information, so I am making a different post with updated information and better description of my problem . All ideas and info are welcome.

as of 2021 I still have not figured out why I am getting itchy and I 100% know that I don’t have a wheat allergy, don’t have a food allergy, don’t have seasonal allergies, etc I was tested and was negative for the tests. With this information I am suspicious I might be getting some sort of gluten exposure? I am aware that I have to ingest gluten to get my normal symptoms.   I 100% know that I don’t have neuropathy. I’ve taken antihistamines and they help temporarily but never permanently make my itching go away. Itching can be gone for weeks , then come back for months. Places I get itchy on my body are : my back, my chest and stomach. The itching is similar to  a normal itch , but with a light sunburn feeling ,nothing visible to see, sometimes I even get really hot, but the itching never permanently goes away.

I take multivitamins and never intentionally eat gluten . The people I live with still eat gluten but they don’t use my gluten free stuff unless they are making something gluten free , when they use gluten they have separate equipment. When using gluten baking Flour they use it when I am at work or not home, they tell me when something has been contaminated and clean up well after done using a gluten food or ingredient. What is going on?

If the bags of flour you move leak and create dust, perhaps it gets on your skin, in your month, etc., which may cause an issue, but it seems unlikely to happen unless a bag is leaking. I would wash my hands well after moving such bags, and perhaps consider wearing a covid-type mask at work.

If you have DH you will likely also want to avoid iodine, which is common in seafoods and dairy products, as it can exacerbate symptoms in some people. This article may also be helpful:

I don’t have dh at least as far as I know, unless dh can give you invisible symptoms .

thanks for your help.

DH would definitely involve, at the very least, some sort of very itchy rash, usually with tiny, hard, clear blisters.

I do not get blisters, or a rash, so likely not DH

@Scott Adams I would say it means , no it is not verified gluten free. I am extremely sensitive and I also have OCD. So that answer is entirely too vague for me. However , if it suits others then I am happy for those individuals

Have you considered eating plenty of gluten from now until your capsule endoscopy? If you truly have celiac disease that would increase the chances of damage being seen.

I just want to reinforce what Scott said and that is we have tended to think in these neat little black and white categories of it's either celiac or NCGS when in reality it may not be quite that neat. There's just a lot we don't know and the immune system is very complex. I often wonder if I had been gluten free as a child if I would have avoided developing celiac disease as an adult. I think there is also this misconception that if you have NCGS, gluten is not harmful, it just creates discomfort and inconvenience.

I am actually in the middle of this article currently already!   Thank you.  This website is extraordinarily helpful.

This article has some detailed information on how to be 100% gluten-free, so it may be helpful (be sure to also read the comments section.):
