This is a good time for birds in Delaware. I spent most of the day in Bombay Hook NWR. It was a bit windy but there were still lots of birds. There are lots of good birding locations up and down the Delaware coast.

We enjoy the Lancaster, Pa. area. Very scenic, good antique area, lots of nice little country shops. Nearby is Hershey, Pa. If you like outlet shopping, there's plenty of that, too. Live entertainment, tours of Amish country, etc.

Well the two places are so different, I go to Boston about once or twice a month at least (I'm on Cape Cod) and I went to college and lived right in town for 20 years... and I'm not tired of it yet. Its a fun city with lots of things to do, from shopping, art musems and galleries, science, aquarium, children's museums, tons of historical stuff, of course a bunch of touristy stuff (duck boats, harbor boat rides, walking tours) we have a few really nice big parks in the city (Espanade, public garden, Boston Common) and small pocket parks all throughout the city. We have great eating... cheap, mid and very expensive, plus the North End (Italian), Chinatown, because of all the colleges directly in the city we have virtually every type of ethnic dining you can imagine and great people watching.

Its a smallish city but still I'd come armed with a plan, I travel a lot and I've found when visiting cities if I arrive without a general plan of what I want to do I wander around and miss a lot of stuff.

Susan
