Rachel--24

Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Recommended Posts

Julie--I've not checked on the Redi Tabs as I've not ever used them. I was talking about the regular Claritin pills. Maybe the Redi Tabs are better? Would the citric acid=corn? I'm so confused

I hate to hear such things about chocolate  Dumb histamine :angry:

Patti,

I have been using the RediTabs, they disolve under the tongue and go to the blood stream quickly. Maybe they are free of dairy then? The citric acid and gelatin most likely=corn, but I need to use them right now until I get the histamine down with my reactions.

Yes all the good things are problematic when it comes to histamine, totally sucks :(

Hey, but it's been almost two weeks since I've had a bumble bar!

God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to step away from the bumble bars...

...and the chocolate

Are we going to have food anonymous meetings in Rachelville? :P

Premature post....still 5 pages to read.

Susan -- No it was not flippant. As far as the Canadian Forces is concerned, there is no way to get what I want without going to Greenland or Norther Northern Alaska for a year by myself first. They are such small remote places there is no room for families. Even for the Americans and Danes in Greenland.

Everyone else. There is a bit of history with my wife and I that I am not quite ready to get into just yet...I will tell one day, as it will be relevant while I am gone, but not today. Neither of us are thrilled about me being gone for a year, but there is nothing I can do about it, excpet turn down the Colorado Springs thing, and that is HUGE for my career.

Julie -- Thanks for the tip about the bakery...I'll check it out.

Back to reading.

Patti -- I may turn to you later for advice on the military seperation thing and how to dela with it.

Ryan--

My husband isn't in the military. He just got transferred a lot with his job! The year I told you about was the longest separation, but there were other times while our boys were young that he had to move on ahead of us. When my oldest was in 2nd grade, we had just bought a home in South Jersey, got settled in and they asked him to take a position in Atlanta. It was not really a "request" if you know what I mean ;) So, for the rest of that school year, we were in NJ, and he was in Atlanta. It was crazy, but we learned to be flexable

Still, if there's anything I can do to help, please let me know :) I guess for whatever the reason, the separations feel the same.

Hi, y'all! Everyone is so witty today! Love it!!!

So many postings, so many comments to make, so little time. It's overwhelming me!

Welcome, David, Rachel's friend-but-not-boss.

Susan, possibly msg (Auxigro  ) in the broccoli?

Cecile, I miss you.

Donna, citric acid = corn.

Lynne, where can I find the wedding post?

To all who feel bad today, hugs and prayers.

Beverly, UCCF is University of Celiac ????? Somebody! Help!!!

Guess what! I got the results of my tests from Entero Lab! Yay!!!

I've spent all day trying to translate, and composing an email to send to every member of my family who has a computer. At this point I'm mentally exhausted, so it's early to bed for me tonight.

Cissie

GOOD GOOGLY MOOGLY- I'm out having a crisis for four hours and I come back and so much to read. I love the good googly moogly! I was sure I had heard it somewhere before so I asked my hubby (thought it was a "Flanderism" from the Simpsons but it's not. i guess it has a long history!

OK- let's see. Susan- Blue Diamond is NOT my friend and they should not be yours. I ate them New Year's Eve (my very kind friend bought them for me for her party). I had to do a polar bear swim the next day in the ATLANTIC glutened as all heck. Poo on them. But they do taste good.

Christine- I have TMJ and bruxism. I have a mouth guard from the dentist that I wear at night which prevents damage. My physiatrist (I love them- great doctors as they really attend to the whole person and not just the bones/muscles etc) also prescribed skelaxin which is a non-narcotic muscle relaxer. I take one at night and poof! The grinding disappeared. It may be worth asking about. I cut out all soy at the same time so it could have been the combo of both.

donna- I have been chocolate free for over a month. It stinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :( i live for the day I can eat a Reese's

Ok- thanks for all the concern and goodness. I am going into Boston tomorrow for a quick colonoscopy so it looks like I'll be hanging out a bit in Rachelville tonight (between trips to the bathroom as i sip the lovely everage they have concocted for me). My GI called today (she is AMAZING) and said i've been suffering too long and she's going on vaca next week so she put me in for 8:30 tomorrow. Hey maybe this stuff I'm drinking will evacuate whatever's making me sick!

She asked me what my chief complaint was and I told her that besides the diarrhea, it felt like a system melt down. Exhausted, nauseous, no appetite, joint ache, headache, irregular peeriod. Uhm.. did I miss anything? Oh yeah- foul noxious gasses  I kinda feel like I felt before i went gluten-free only now I'm gluten-free, soy and legume free and currently lactose free. I mean all I've put into my body over the last month are chicken (antibiotic free) rice potatoes, veggies and spices (organic all) and I still feel hideous. No brain fog, but definitely moody biach. My poor hubby. He's been so good and he's struggling with his own stuff at the moment.

Oh yes- hubby could definitely be involved in the town computers with Vincent- they'd get along great- both have long hair :P He also plays guitar, bass, keyboards, drums and is very social. He could actually run the Rachelville Lounge (all food and drinks gluten-free). he'd LOVE that!

Anyhoo.. Lynne- I know just fine what F-I-N-E fine stands for. :P But right now for me it's frustrated, incensed, gnarly (silent G) and emotional. :P:P:P You silly girl.

It's good to be here and Julie- I think your new pic looks so pretty- you look LIKE a queen.

Hugs to all- it's gonna be a long night. Beverly

Bev - this is rubbish that you are feeling this way! OMG I vividly remember that poison one must drink and the FIRE HYDRANT D following - - that should clean you out but glad you're having the procedure tomorrow and hopefully you can find out what's wrong! But could it be Lyme or some mysterious thing like that??

Cissie - - hi there! You must also (well you must only do so if you want to of course) tell US your results as well!

Where's Andrea today? is she being mommy/teacher?

Cecile - - I see you and am glad you're on finally......

have to venture out and get some safe food now....ugh.....

Ryan - - share when your'e ready - wise to be discreet and I remember you saying what a big deal the 3 1/2 year anniv. was - sounds like you have a very special relationship. (dang. I am an over-sharer here, you poor people, I have used this thread as my freaking personal online journal  and will stop - could attract stalkers, though, come to think of it, that wouldn't be so bad, I would be really flattered to have a stalker now.........:lol::lol:

Hi Celia--I've missed you today! Wondered if you were ok :)

Sorry about your arm :( Can't believe you have to go through that every day.

Yep--I think "Good Googly Moogly" is the new "Have a Nice Day" or "Don't Have A Cow"--it will sweep the country! Celebrities will be using the term on the late night talk shows! No one will know where it came from but us :D

Tony sounds like such a sweetheart! We have to find my husband a job in R'ville so they can get to be friends, too.

Awww Patti you are so nice to me and you don't mind my drama  ... oh and no I only have my injections every other Monday... I'm just a baby about it :lol:

Ohh and do you mean "Mister"? He's a trouble maker :o:lol:

What job would you give your husband?

I love drama! :D

Oh, every other Monday is better than every day, but still--ouch

Uh oh--you're still calling him "Mister" I was thinking about what Mark could do. He's an Operations Manager, so I don't know. His hobbies are old cars and toy truck collecting. Help me here...I really can't live there without him--I mean we're married and everything. :P

Floridian- is patti really your twin sister? Like in real-life? Or Rachelville life? Sorry about your arm.

Oh Lynne- I meant to tell you that my tenured post was at UCCF (University of Celiac something something) Rachelville. Best job I'll ever get!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Bev...he needs to answer the questions on the application. I posted one for Dave on page 305.

If he passes (which I'm sure he will) then I will add him as Computer Tech and One Man Band. :P

I would need him name too.

I sure hope you get to the bottom of whatever it is that's got a hold of you.

Thanks Susie, no I didn't see your post. I am so far behind on reading I just jumped in and didn't go back. You know how scary it is going back in Rachelville, lions, tigers and bears....

:lol::lol::lol:

Julie, I do think histamines are a problem for me, I know it means sacrificing the bananas for a while. :(

Susan, I'm in Manitoba, Canada. It is incredible to think that just one thousand dollars can buy so much but in these little prairie towns there are houses that sell for five and ten thousand dollars.

I got really sick after eating broccoli last week but I had also taken liquid vitamins so I wasn't sure but it lasted for several hours. Sounds like it was the nut thins though.

I couldn't help but notice the correlation between you and Rachel. She goes on an ice cream binge, tries veggies she know causes problems and feels miserable. Take things slow, add only one item at a time with at least a week in between, preferably longer.

So true Andrea. I think I've just wanted to live in denial. I focus on the ways I am feeling better and don't take the time to just heal. Last night I finally phoned a friend I was planning on travelling to see to say I wasn't going to come. I'm just not up it.

Great post Robbin.

gonna curl up with a bag of frozen spinach and lay down for now.
:(:):( Sorry you are feeling so bad.

"Listen here Mister! (Oh yes..when he's in trouble I call him "Mister")... I said, "You better watch that kind of attitude or you will get kicked out of RACHELVILLE"..... and I came on here to play.... I can still hear him giggling in the livingroom.

That is hilarious.:lol::lol: But so sorry about your arm. :(

I'm off to read about the wedding, I'm glad to hear it was a wonderful day.

Yes, Cissie, please share.

I posted this morning Susan and was on here way too long. I'm back for a bit and will be off and on the rest of the day. I usually just leave the connection up in the afternoon/evening until bedtime.

Susan.....the stalker must be a gorgeous male speciman and not hurt you.:lol::lol:

Thanks for the welcomes, everyone - that was 10 pages or so back! OMG do you guys move fast, and there are so many of you it's really hard to keep up. Seemed like every time I got to the bottom of a page another page had been added.

Christine - way back there with the teeth problem - I know it sounds cranky but please do some research into bio-compatible dentistry (google) and consider not having root canals. Check out my post on another thread here. I had six root canals, three of which ended up necrotic because the infection in the jawbone couldn't drain and my compromised immune system couldn't cope. There is no point in 'saving' a tooth if it's going to become a locus of infection, and peeps with immune disorders do not want additional burdens on their health.

Donna - the itch, did the dermatologist consider Dermatitis Herpetiformis? It's one of the first things s/he should consider when a Coeliac presents with an unbearable itch! On a 0-10 scale of itchiness DH is around 12. I have been known to wake up with a completely raw arms where I've scratched off several layers of skin in my sleep. It starts with little raised red lumps and progresses to blisters filled with fluid. It's usually, but not always, bilateral on the body, meaning if you have it on one leg you might find it in the same place on the other as well. It's aggravated by gluten and dietary iodine (too much salt or seafood).

Which reminds me that some posters in other threads use DH to represent Dermatitis Herpetiformis and others use it to mean Darling/Dear Hubby (or something similar) and I find that a bit....confusing!

I'm back from the store, and I have nuggets  help me....

YOu know that man, the one that's supposed to be here holding my hand and soothing my brow - he needs to also hide the nuggets from me

I'm so embarassed. :( How could I, Distinguished Chair of Celiac Literary and Historical Oddities Department at UCCF, have forgotten the name of the esteemed university to which I have dedicated half my life, my fortune, and my sacred honour. I bow my head in shame. Let us now observe one minute of silence in solemn acknowledgement of my mental lapse.

Okay. I'm all better now. The pretty asterisks cheered me up. What a terrific comedy team we have, broadcasting unrehearsed repartee here, there, and yon!

I'll share my test results with all and sundry tomorrow. Might even do the signature thingy.

Good night and pleasant dreams!

Cissie

Susan,

You want to be sick tomorrow too!!!!!

If I lived closer to you I'd come hide them myself.

I don't know where you are, aren't you in Central Cali. I know a friend in high school (many years ago and before speed limit change) said it took 19 hours to get to his house outside of LA. He was up here with his mom for part of the year. We are about 5-6 hours from Medford OR.

What did the health center say?

I actually had a colonics- and she did not see good things. I have really not been well lately it seems like nothing I am doing is working. I am really frustrated, everytime I make any progress I seem to go backwards and often I end up worse then I was to begin with.

Yes a bit in some ways - and she actually just called me to see how I am feeling- she is an angel! But I am just very uncomfortable she told me I shoulden't try to lay down for a while but I really don't wnat to stat awake feeling like this.
