Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Recommended Posts

So much for this being a safe thread to get help in. Some one comes here looking for help, and we are going to turn that person away just because the topic is contrversal?

Well you just gonna have to abuse your powers as a moderator and ban me. I do not care how contraversal a topic is, or where its posted, if I see someone that needs help that I can give, I will offer it. I am NOT sorry about it, and if I am the only one in the world that will stand by those that need help, so be it. I will NEVER stand with those that turn away ppl just becuse the help they need might be contraversal!

This thread was my last hope too. I guess I am on my own too! I will never feel safe here again knowing that at any time I would be disgguarded to the rubbish heap.

I love your avatars of Seth..... and OMG Cliff Bars are the BEST...especially the chocolate ones...when they're covered in peanut butter

I like the lemon vanilla .... and I don't usually like lemon flavored things!

Have had ONLY about 10 nuggets and that's it for today. Am quite proud of self.

Good girl!! Way to go!

Rachel, thanks for that post. I was thinking that same thing, and you've said it well.

I agree. Last night after I got offline, I thought the same thing myself. This morning I went back and deleted my posts ... they just don't belong here. Even though we don't go back into the scary history of R'ville, I still didn't think it belonged there.

Donna,

Awhile back you asked about the mercury-free dentist I saw. I'm pretty sure he retired cuz I recall getting something in the mail announcing it. I was just doing a search on mercury-related stuff and ended up on his webpage. I'm like "Hey....thats the guy!".

Anyways heres the link...I dont know if the place is still there or what. I think he might have sold the dentristry to someone else in the same field...not positive though. If you're interested you could probably find out. They were really knowledgeable about this stuff there.

http://www.mercuryfree-dentistry.com/symptoms.HTML

Thanks Rachel! I'm definitely thinking I should at least go in and see them...I don't know if mercury could cause the dizziness and the low blood pressure, but I seem to be healthy as far as blood tests are concerned. :( I've book marked this and will spend more time there in a bit.

Carla,

Nothing so "sensible" ever works with me. <_<

I would go back to the freezer...take out more donut...*not* wait for it to thaw (that would take too long)...throw it in the microwave and eat it.

Then I'd be upset cuz there was no more donut.....I'd go buy more and then Rachel the heck out of them.

I ate a frozen cookie yesterday...apparently freezing stuff doesn't work with me...wonder why I have so many cracked teeth.:lol:

and OMG Cliff Bars are the BEST...especially the chocolate ones...when they're covered in peanut butter

Amen SISTER!!!

I had Kinnikinnick Glazed Chocolate Donuts for the first time yesterday. I'm not sure if they should really be called donuts. They are more like round brownies dipped in liquid sugar

I had to hunch over my plate as I ate one this A.M., my wife was circling (like sharks do when blood is in the water) once she saw a chocolate dont in the house. I told her she wouldn't like it, it was gluten-free...I don't think the yummy noises I was making made my argument very convincing! :D

They only bad part is that they only come 6 to a bag! (MMMMMM MORE donuts, please!)

Please try to keep this thread on topic--it seems to be getting way off the topic that it is in. Much of the posts here belong in the Gab/Chat area--or on a different board. I am happy that there is a stong community here, but please stay on topic because that is what will help people here most. Much of what is in this thread belongs in PM's (Personal messages or personal e-mails) and not on a public board. This is not a board that is designed to provide therapy for people who are depressed about various, non-celiac disease things like abortion. There are likely many other boards out there designed for this topic--that topic is not even for the Gab Chat Area. Reminder: This board is to help people with celiac disease or other food intolerance/allergy issues.

Each post on a public forum like this should be done with the idea that it will help someone else down the road. Personal messages, compliments and pick-me-up type comments should be made via PM's to people, not posted for everyone else.

Take care,

Scott

sigh...

thank you Carla, you a kind and loving person, and I appretiate you reaching out to a stranger like me.

I'll write back later.

good night

Donna,

I've read that there's like 125 symptoms associated with mercury toxicity.....probably because it can affect virtually anything in the body. I've seen dizziness and low blood pressure on all the mercury symptom lists but those can be found on so many other lists as well....you know how that goes. Seems like EVERYTHING causes the same symptoms.

I think the main things that stick out for me are timing, circumstances surrounding when symptoms arised, the mouth symptoms (tasting metal, excessive saliva, etc) and then the exclusion of all the other possibilities. It just all fits....plus there is my gut instinct that has told me for 3 years now that the dental work started all this.

I think because of the nature of how I *think* I got poisoned (with the two different metals being in contact and causing reactions)....the symptoms came on very fast and very strong....making it more obvious that something was going on in my mouth. Thats whats always stuck out in my mind the most....and then the development of autoimmune stuff after these symptoms began. It just makes sense to me.

Today would have been the day of my appt. had it not been for the bloodwork mishap. :(

I'm too wound up ever since they ordered the test for Lyme and then having to wait it out....I cant relax ever since....moving my appt. hs made everything worse for me. Not sure why....I've already waited 4 years but one more week is really doing me in. I tell myself its only one week...but it sure isnt working.

I have a lot of the same issues...I started getting sick many years ago but it really hit hard about 3.5 to 4 years ago...I had a root canal done about 10 years ago, then after that had several fillings redone and at least two or 2 of my crowns...then I started getting really sick, so it wouldn't surprise me one bit if the dental work hasn't caused at least some of this.

I don't blame you for having a hard time with this...it's hard to be so very close to finding out something definitive and then having to wait. I felt that same way when I was waiting to hear about the pathology reports from Dr. R. I couldn't even make it through a weekend! I think my friend couldn't understand why I cancelled a trip...I just wouldn't have been able to concentrate on anything except the results! So, don't feel like there's anything wrong with wanting to know NOW, lol.

Well, I just made an appointment with Rachel's dentist, lol. October 18th for a mercury consultation. Lady probably thought I was nuts, lol...I wasn't actually expecting to have the number work and when they answered I was kind of dumbfounded, cuz that meant I actually had to speak. Then I said, um, I thought the doctor retired...then said, um, I'm not sure what I want, but I have a mouth full of metal and probably shouldn't!!  She was sweet and said, well that's what he does.

Umm I'm not sure this is a thread for getting help. To me it seems to have devolved into a thread of chatting and socializing for friends of Rachelville.

I'm only staying tuned to find out Rachel's test results. Which may prove educational for me.

Donna,

Thats great!!

Is the same Dentist there?? Dr. Adams?? I got a letter in the mail last year announcing his retirement.

Thats awesome if hes still there....he was REALLY nice and thorough and helpful in every way. He was actually more thorough with me then ANY doctor I'd seen up to that point. He was the first to tell me about my diet and what I needed to be eating. He looked at everything...not just my mouth. It was actually my turning point. He spent alot of time during my consult....over an hour and I still recall much of the info. he gave me. It turned out to be THE most important appointment I'd had....probaly during this whole mess. I got the most out of it anyway and by following his advice I was able to get myself well enough to return to work!! I really cant say enough good things about this guy...I hope you have the same experience!

Also I'm excited because I had a biocompatibilty test there back when he removed the last 2 amalgam fillings. I never actually got a copy of the results and I'll probably be needing them in the future. They could be helpful. I'd thought that since he'd retired I would not be able to get the records...he should still have them right?? Its been 2 years now but at least the place is still there.

I wanna go talk to him again if I'm not happy with what the new Doc has to say about mercury or if he prolongs testing. Dr. Adams is familiar with all the doctors who will provide chelation and are knowledgeable about mercury....I think its a good sign that my new doc knows Dr. Adams and said good things about him. :)

Yes, he is still there. Dr. Adams...I think there IS another dentist there as well, but Dr. Adams works two days a week. (lol, she said that three times because I kept saying "I thought he retired"--I'm telling you she must have thought I was nuts...I thought it best to leave out the part that my "friend" who referred me is someone I haven't actually met in person  ) I'm excited about it! Don't know what will come of it, and not sure I can afford the work for a while, but we can talk about all that at the consult.

Also I'm excited because I had a biocompatibilty test there back when he removed the last 2 amalgam fillings. Great! I hope he still does the testing. It's reassuring that your new doctor has heard of and says good things about him. They're sending me stuff in the mail to fill out before I go and she already took my insurance info even though I'm pretty sure it WON'T be covered. But, from what I understand, it's better to do the removal slowly anyway, right? Now, I just have to tell my regular dentist it's all over, lol...it's like breaking up.

Both of you (you and Donna) keep us posted as to how things are going.

Donna,

I should find out about the families allergy test results sometime around the 18th also (I hope anyway).

Wow, hopefully good news all around on the 18th then!!! I really should get some more thorough testing done...haven't been tested for anything other than the standard allergins (environmental) and standard foods.

I don't usually say too much, but lately the atmosphere of this place is getting on my nerves.

With all due respect Simply V, you might not think this thread is helpful to you, but it has saved my life. Now I can only speak for myself, but I know that several others have posted how valuable the information has been in this thread so I assume for them they are very thankful as well.

For anyone popping in occasionally it might look like "socializing" but most of us here here are sick every dang day and we cover topics that jump all over the place from finding a treat/recipe that won't make us too terribly sick, dental work, doctor's appointments, waiting for test results, blood sugar issues, water filter components, ithing/raching, different ingredients in products, adrenal health, cleanses/detox programs, lyme, mercury, msg, histamine, saunas.......

I guess I take offense when it is said that most all of this thread is off topic and that it can only be kept alive if it is helping other people. I didn't realize our posts on this board were only to benefit other people, I thought this board was for us, the members??

Thanks Julie--I think you stated it very well.

I'm one of those who has learned a lot on this thread--and figured things out along the way. If we also found friends through all of this, all the better. We're human! I just don't understand why help and support has to be serious all the time--being sick with no explanation for years on end was serious enough...I don't know--maybe it's just me

A lot depends on when you happen to pop in here--true, you may find some posts where we're goofing around, or trying to keep someone's spirits up. More than likely, though, you're going to find enlightening discussions on topics from heavy metal toxicity to legume intolerance. If it weren't for talking freely about the subject of water (of all things), I'd still be trying to figure out why I wasn't getting better. It was purely through discussion with several people here that I realized that my water filter was the culprit. Who knew?

I will try to stay strictly on topic here, as that is what Scott asked. I do apoligize for my silliness at times and I'm sorry if I offended anyone. :)

Yes Julie,

Thanks for your post.

Patti,

Although we stray from topic, I feel that along with trying to help each other through the trials of the day by offering input, we need the laughter that this thread have provided for the other aspect of healing. We have dealt with a lot of serious things on this thread in everyone's quest for health. Don't feel bad for adding to the silliness that we all need once in awhile.

Donna,

Sounds like you're going to have a real good dentist.

Rachel,

Hope you're doing ok.

This is off topic, but I need to clear this up.

Thank you for all your concern and support in the PM's. I am NOT mad, nor am I leaving the board, or anything like that.

I do skim this thread still, but I know nothing much about whats being talked about currently so do no expect to see much from me.. I will still offer help where I can.

Sorry if I made it sound like I was avoiding the thread out of anger or somthing, I am horrible at english and sometimes its more appearent then others. :D

Great post Julie and very well said. It echos my feelings exactly...this thread has gotten me through so much. I've learned more in the past 5 months than I ever thought possible and Julie....its people like you who have kept me motivated to keep pushing on.

I think for people just popping in (depending on what page they may land on) it may appear that we are just socializing because they have no idea whats in all these pages or what we all go through. Noones gonna go back and read everything....most people wouldnt bother reading everything even if this thread was only 30 pages.

I think there was some misunderstanding with my post a couple days back....stating that this thread isnt for controversial subject matter and that those things can be discussed in pm's. You guys always think I have a way with words....but sometimes I just dont. A couple people felt that I came across rather cold and as if we dont welcome people with problems here.

Obviously thats not the case at all but to someone whos just popping in I can see how it might come off that way. So my apologies for that.

Julie...I feel the same frusteration your feeling. This thread has always been what people would describe as their "safe" place....there was never animosity, controversy or anything of that nature. I wanted it to stay that way but its not always possible with a large group of people and different opinions.

I think that because many of us have found comfort here....in working together and not feeling so alone...we have become quite "protective" of this thread.....cuz like Julie said....its kind of "saved" us. Thats probably alot to do with the way my post sounded to anyone who just came in.

I do feel protective of this thread...I was always happy with the way we conducted ourselves here and even with all the medical stuff it still became a "feel good" place for me to come to. I dont want to lose that feeling of comfort and yeah....if things start to get ugly I want it to stop. Some people are thinking more along the lines of "let things ride out"..."let people voice their opinions"..etc. I guess I'm more along the lines of....this isnt exactly the place for that.

I dont want to watch a good thing turn bad and I feel those who do want to carry on just dont have the same feeling about this thread that some of us have. If this thread were gone tomoorow it wouldnt matter one bit to them because they dont have such a high stake in it. Thats my feeling about it.

I'm sorry for sounding cold in my post to everyone but not sorry for stopping controversial topics from escalating. Believe me...I love to debate things...there are things that I'm passionate about and some of those things would be highly inappropriate for discussion here....and not just on this thread....but on this entire board....so I stick to what we're here for.

I agree with Patti and Andrea that sometimes we just need to laugh....I dont see anything wrong with that....its healthy and sometimes I just need a break from the health issues...as I'm sure we all do. :)
