Evie,

I will be praying for you....C.Diff is nothing to mess around with. I was found to have C.Diff toxins in my stool but I didnt have any of the symptoms or "d". I was treated anyway....two miserable weeks on Metronidazole. :(

The GI told me it hadnt reached the point of making me sick but later down the road could have....so I'm glad I had the treatment. The toxins werent detected in my stool after the metronidazole.

There is a message board for C.Diff...I spent some time reading up on things over there...I'll post the link if you're interested. Its not always easy to get rid of....like Susan said...aggressive treatment is a must. If Flagyl doesnt work....there is also vancomyacin....ususally used as a last resort.

Good luck...keep us posted.

:o OMG I am so chatty today. too much over-sharing and will probably ERASE later!! My life is an open book.......

:lol::lol:

Yeah....but here in the OMG thread you are amongst friends....over-sharing is allowed. Erasers aren't. :P

I get weepy and anxious and even PSYCHO from gluten consumption,

Me too...but with a whole array of foods that look and taste yummy but end up doing evil things to my brain and hormones.

Just PUNCH HIM if he even says IBS.....at the very least, a withering stare and tell him you will not accept that waste-basket diagnosis......harumph!

I have a feeling our HappyGirl will let him have it if "IBS" even passes his lips. ;)

Maybe she wont *punch* him but she will definately WANT to!

Rinne...am I understanding this right?? You're sweetie accepted your wishes to go w/out TV?? :o

HOLY COW...maybe I've got more growing to do.

I certainly would do alot for love but going w/out TV??? I dont know if I could do it. <_<

That goes for the phone, music and computer as well! :P

Nobody better ever try to go there.

Oh, Evie, I hope you feel better very soon! Phenergan is an antihistimine--it helps a lot with nausea, but is also a big time knock-out (I slept for 17 hours when I took it). How does it help c diff?

Evie, Of course my prayers and hugs are with you! How awful--I'm so sorry you are having to go through such a difficult infection.

Rinne, You poor thing :( What a time you're having. Sounds like everything is just catching up with you. Try and take it easy and get some rest. Leave all of the "stuff" for later.

Hi everybody--I'm outside in the fresh air helping Mark paint the deck--just basically sitting on my butt  The air feels nice! Be back later!

Evie, I hope you're feeling better soon.

Andrea, I'd go see your Dad as soon as you can. Tomorrow is November! Don't wait till he's up to seeing a toddler ... you can have someone watch your son while you visit.

Judy, thank you for the vote of confidence ... I don't know whether I have courage or not, this is just the hand I was dealt and I'm trying to work with it the best I can.

I have a doctor's appt. on Thursday. They said they'd use whatever lab I wanted them to use.

Susan, I know what you mean about baggage. My family has so much of it, I don't really know how I got out relatively normal. My spiritual director says that God was really watching over me ... and it's true. I don't see any of them anymore except for my grandma and my dad. My holistic doctor thinks that when I got control over that part of my life is when I started healing.

:lol::lol::lol:

I suspect my sweetie knows me better than I know myself and that some version of T.V. will be returning. <_< In the meantime I have managed to get this huge T.V. out of our tiny bedroom and it is not living in our main living room either which means that if it returns it will be some tiny thing.

The story behind the T.V. is that twenty years ago when my sweetie proposed I said yes, but I don't want a T.V. , did I mention that was twenty years ago? As a wedding gift his mother gave us a big T.V. with a whole year of cable and that is the way it has been ever since. I thought the T.V. card in his computer would work as a good compromise, that way he can still watch T.V. and I don't have one in the house. I think I just need a way to watch movies or something for those times when I don't feel well, the overwhelming number of channels with equally bad programming makes me feel even worse. Years ago when I was really ill the only T.V. I could watch without feeling nauseous was the I Love Lucy Show and that is what I am in the mood for today. This morning in desperation I went to the garage and found an old T.V. that can't even be hooked up to cable, I managed to get three channels that kind of worked and Rachel Ray was the only show watchable but she made me feel a little dizzy.

Rinne...this reminded me....my older dog Tika/Stinker always wore a strand of pearls, it was her trademark...her nanny, Lauren, who is like my younger sister, used to retrieve Stinker while I was at work (in Monterey, before Stinker was hired at tasting room with me) and they ran around all over town and on the CSU Monterey campus, Tika in her pearls....they wrote two books together also. ;) BTW Tika was wearing her peals 10 years ago, before the gigantic jewelry trend in dogs...she is so ahead of her time.

And you wonder why we love you. :P

:o OMG I am so chatty today. too much over-sharing and will probably ERASE later!! My life is an open book.......

Dear Susan, we are all open books, and speaking of books did you say that Tika wrote a book? I think the Dingo's should write a book about their adventures in Rachelville, how does our world appear to them? :)

I love the image of Tika and pearls, pearls must be a part of the story.

I had a funny experience with pearls on my Calgary trip, have I talked about this? Here? O well, I will repeat myself. When I packed for Calgary at one point my hand was on my pearl necklace, I really haven't worn this necklace but at that moment I felt a strong urge to take it with me. I ignored the impulse and left it at home. When the Naturapath/Acupuncterist did the Meridian Stress Assessment she had me take out my earings which were pearl and diamond and made some comments about the properties of pearls including that once we were done I should put them back in because they would help ground me, apparently the testing can agitate the body. <_< When I returned I put them on and have been wearing them since, I don't really get how subtle this is supposed to be and the whole nuavo thing but I will saying pearls do bring out the ladylike me. :) I think we could add pearls to the Laughing Lyme Ladies ensembles and pearls are lovely with blue too. :)

I had a lovely nap and woke to a friend phoning from New Mexico, she has this fabulous little restaurant between Taos and Santa Fe on the high road and I've spent time there with her. I love New Mexico and we've been friends for nearly thirty years now so it is always so great to hear from her.

Evie, I'm so glad there are smart people who know you should take what you've got very seriously, you being one of them, I learned something today. You are in my prayers.

I've started taking the Noni for the Lyme and will begin the Samento once I clarify the protocol with Hoffman. I am still looking at the Energy Wellness Machine and have nearly worked myself up to trying it, I am finding it intimidating. Okay, off I go into unknown frontiers. Yours in the drama, Rhonda

Post when you can, rest well. I'm sorry you didn't find any help, I know that each time I hope I have found someone that can help me and then been disappointed I have been exhausted by the process. It takes energy just to hope. These days I find I have little patience with those who think they know more about my body than I and I am prepared to be direct with idiots. Sounds like you are too. :)

I don't think many doctors have any real idea of the revolution in wellness that is going on but then that is not a surprise because they are in the disease business. My argument with them is that they lie to us about what disease is and that what they too often diagnose is the damage done by what they couldn't diagnose in the first place. This goes back to the metabolic body not the immunological body which is where the damage manifests.

Last night I spoke to my mother and I felt as if my heart would break. My sister was diagnosed with Celiac five years ago and my brother just two weeks ago. My mother has had 35 years of pain and illness and suffering and they were never able to find anything but she has a list of diagnosis an arm long now including IBS, Diverticulitis, Fibro, Arthritis....and she was told that she didn't have Celiac Disease. I could hear in her voice last night the realization that if she had been diagnosed with Celiac her life would have been different.

I explained once again the Marsh standard for damage and struggled with the rage I feel. We are trained so well from the time we are small to sit in neat rows and to stand in straight lines and to do what we are told, we are shaped into obedience and trust and then we are betrayed again and again.

This is the message I left my doctor who said to me, "you don't have Lyme Disease, I'll refer you for a test for it but then I'm done with you" and as she said it she threw her hands up in the air.:lol:

1) I have a diagnosis of Lyme Disease.

2) I am grateful that I am smarter than you.

3) I think you are a danger to your patients.

Rinne, is your mother now off gluten, and does it help at this point?

I love the message you left your doctor--good for you! Did she ever get back to you with an apology????

Laura, you deserve a good rest. Your doctor deserves a good kick in the pants.

Laura,

I'm sorry your appointment was such a drain. That doctor sounds like he's not up to learning from his patients. Will wait until you are good and rested before you post your update.

Rinne,

Is you mother going to go gluten free now? I used to totally trust doctors until recently.....I'm learning lots. My allergy/intolerance doctor is who I'm going to go through for as much as possible. He's done everything but I think his focus is going to be on intolerances.

Hey I missed it ;):P:lol:

I am home....

but off to nap, so exhausted and drained.

Let's just say that the doctor and I had serious words today. I went "off" on him......he wouldn't even look at me by the end of it. Yes, I yelled.

Promise to post more later....and yes, this all revolved around IBS.

:)

I must say I'm excited to hear more :D

It takes energy just to hope.

OMG.....yes it does take energy to HOPE....and there is a verse in Proverbs that puts it well - - "hope deferred makes the heart sick." and yes, it does.

RINNE - - - your message to your doctor is making me out of my mind!!!:lol::lol::lol::lol:

am goign to have to put Stinker's pearls on her....it IS halloween after all......and BTW you are the most eloquent writer of all. I enjoy it so much.

Went to lunch, had some wine, laughed and got incredibly silly. had SO Much fun. doing it again for my birthday in a few weeks. With more people. Mom's paying. ;) Am taking the dingos on a SECOND walk today, they are just flummoxed and bewildered but incredibly joyful. Mommy has to work off her Food Baby (stomach - it's kicking and I"m getting ready to give it a name) that has developed since malnutrition has reversed. Pshaw!

Laura - - that doctor - - oh holy heck. I"m glad you gave him what for....

gotta go...it's my bro's favorite day of the year - he does some spooky haunted from yard w/ a fire pit, I think I'll go hang out there this time.

xoxo

I am very emotional today, crying at the drop of a pin. Whenever I have reactions to anything I am eating and then try to go without this is what happens, it's like weepy withdrawal or somthing......does this happen to anyone else??

Sometimes...not often, but I have had that happen. Sugar is almost always a culprit for me in that way.

Question, I would like to get your perspective on this sice I value all of your opinions . Edward & Sons Rice Crackers, to eat or not to eat??

Pure evil those crackers. ;)

I dont know why but I'm not able to reply....except for the "fast reply"....I cant remember all that I wanna reply to so will have to come back later and see if its working.

Quick question:

Does anyone think that maybe after I've gotten adequate treatment for Lyme I might be able to drink alcohol again??

A normal halloween....when I was healthy would have meant I would get to wear a costume....go out to a club, have drinks and dance with my friends. Will I ever do this again??

Fast Reply means no emoticons...I'm actually quite emotional...dont let my "emoticonless" post fool ya.

Just got off the phone with Dad about 1/2 hour ago.

He sounds much better than last time I talked to him. He doesn't want me to come down right now. He wants to find out more first. I told him I'd call this weekend.

Rachel, I'll probably call Sunday after pictures to let you know how they went and find out about your appointments.

Wow, that's good news that he's sounding better! Yay.

Hello and happy Halloween!

I haven't had time to read and catch up :( and i'm afarid to back  (can't believe this thread is almost 550 pages long! Wow!)

I had posted that I had an appointment today with my physiatrist and I wanted to let y'all know what's going on. First of all, this guy ROCKS! He's in Portsmouth NH if anyone wants his name. He listened to EVERYTHING I had to say (I had a list a mile long) and he sent me for blood work. He thinks that the three biggest possibilities are Lyme, thyroid or fibromyalgia/damage from being undiagnosed Celiac for so long.

Other possibilities are lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and some other scary sttuff.

So he's doing the initial Lyme titer but he was the one that mentioned that this might not show it. He is also referring me to a rheumy to pursue the Lyme diagnosis and get a second opinion. He's gong to call me with the blood test results as soon as they come in. He's testing:

Sed Rate, Westergren (no CLUE what this Is)

Antinuclear antibodies (lupus)

Rhematoid Arthritis factor

Lyme

TSH 3rd generation

CPK fractionate if I have el;evated DLS ( no clue what this one is either)

I left upset, but at least we're getting somewhere!

I managed to gluten myself. :(

Nice to see everyone else--going back to lay down for a while. My husband took the day off today so we could hang out and get some things done here--and I'm absolutely useless. Stupid roasted nuts

Hope you're feeling better soon!

Sorry to hear that. :(

I'm in the San Jose area.

Ditto! I'm so sorry, and I too live in the San Jose area.

Rachel, you'll be having drinks with your friends again before you know it. I have a small tolerance of alcohol, but I can have a couple drinks and be fine. You'll at least get to that point.

Beverly, another one of us getting tested for Lyme ... maybe Rinne's clan theory is right.

I am in need of all your prayers, have picked up a very bad problem. Possibly when I had a 36 hr. stay in the hospital early September I picked up c. diificile (very virulent diarrhea problem). Have been on a med for it for nearly 10 days with no improvement, now Dr. wants me to start phenergan and lomomotil. Sure hope something will help, am also using Pedialyte but getting quite weak and losing weight. I had done so well getting better from celiac, was so thankful for that. Thank you all so much for all your help and understandingi.

You got it Evie! Said a prayer and will continue!

Dang, it took me so long to catch up! Wishing you all a day of good health.....no more time to write, actually going to Fleming's today for lunch w/ my mom and nieces, am excited! My mom had to put her 14-y-old cat Bob down yesterday......they are a mess. Well, my stepfather is.....a grown man sobbing.....so sad. :( So we are honoring bob's long life today and having some laughs.

What a very cool thing to do! I was a blithering idiot after each time I had to put one of my dogs down. Complete blithering idiot!

I have a doctor's appt. on Thursday. They said they'd use whatever lab I wanted them to use.

Wow, that is really fantastic!!! I like your doctor!!! :P

MMMMmmmmmmmm  Lyme.

Sisters.

Rachel, I drank three glasses of white wine last Friday night, got a little tipsy and too talkative, had fun and was a little achy and hungover from it and I won't do it again until Christmas but even now I can get away with it. You will for sure be able to indulge again, you'll just know that you'll have to pay for it, maybe just a small price but then maybe you won't be needing to indulge quite so much. :)

I think my mother may have finally gotten it.

Hallowe'en, this is the day my Grandmother of the Yellow Table, for anyone with an exceptional memory, who remembers back into the ancient past of this thread  and it was quite the day with her. She loved to laugh and I have no doubt she chose Hallowe'en as her day to pass on, she would enjoy being remembered today.

Hum, I've not thought about this at all, but I can't drink at all...I get physically sick. Even if I only have 1 or 2 drinks, I'll wake up the next day with terrible D and head foggy, light-headed and nauseated...basically a hangover without the headache...and NOW I might even get one of those too. I used to do my fair share of dancing with drinks, but haven't been able to do it in YEARS. Now, that you've mentioned it...I'm wondering if once I find out all that's wrong, I'd be able to have one now and then. I really don't like the taste of alcohol, but like a belini once in a while. ;)

I left upset, but at least we're getting somewhere!

Upset because it might be something serious? It sounds like he's running a lot of tests. I like your doctor too! :P
