For now I'm sticking to what I can buy in the store because that way I can have it tested and if it doesnt work for me I can return it. :)

WF has been really good about this...they've never given me a hard time about anything and I used to return a ton of stuff when I was trying various diets.

The brand I have right now is easily digestible....thats one of the main problems people have with chlorella...some are hard to digest.

So far its worked well for me...I think it even helps with the bm's.

I was never taking chlorella (or any type of binder) in the past....so basically anytime metals are floating around they're giving me symptoms until they get redeposited....and hopefully not into my brain. EEEK. :(

I started out taking a little chlorella a couple weeks ago...it seemed like it wasnt helping...maybe making things worse. <_< Then I read on LymeNET that a small dose in a person who is very toxic will worsen the problem.

It was saying that chlorella moves mercury and binds with it...BUT...if you move more than you can bind (because you are only taking a tiny dose) you end up with excess mercury floating around.

I may shop around for a different chlorella. I'm taking it in liquid form that I get from Anna, but I noticed this Saturday that they didn't have any more on the shelf...I'm almost finished with the bottle I'm on now, and I have one more unopened bottle, so I may need to have a backup reserve for those times when the Delicate Balance orders don't come at the right time. :) I don't know exactly how much the one I take costs, but I bet it's expensive compared to the ones I might find at WF, lol. One bottle only lasts 7 days.

Its true...I will never again be oblivious to others and their sufferings....and thats a good thing. :)

...

I was just so happy inside and I realize that that only came from this illness...otherwise I dont think I would have payed much attention...I would still be oblivious.

So very true, and you should be happy inside...you always take time here to help us out even when you're tired, etc.

Hum, saunas are sounding so good right now for some reason. Even I could have one of these in my tiny condo.

Heres a link for Sun chlorella

http://www.sunchlorella.com/home.cgi

They have this at Whole Foods as well as the one that I'm currently taking. The Sun chlorella is alot more expensive though.

I may check into both of these as my backup. I'm also wondering if I could those capsules in addition to the liquid to get a little more in. Anna has me taking only 1 tsp twice a day...wonder how many capsules that equates to, lol, and if two teaspoons are enough to bind with all those loose things floating around, lol. I just know Scott said it was really important for me to take it right now...that showed up clearly in ART. But, he only tested the liquid that Anna sells.

So far its worked well for me...I think it even helps with the bm's.

Always a plus for me.

Rachel, I hope you don't take it that I'm trying to knock the LED testing or question its validity... I was just posing some questions that I had after reading about it on the one website... I try to learn as much as possible nowadays about how all these different types of testing and treatments work... but I'm not ignorant enough to think I can call into question a testing or treatment method simply based on what I learned from a few paragraphs... for that matter, I could probably read a book on some of these testing methods and still not fully comprehend all the intricacies involved... not to mention that I didn't know what gluten, thimerosal, or amalgams were a year and a half ago so I'd hardly call myself an expert on any of this

you seem to have very competent doctors and others involved working at these practices and if they are recommending this LED treatment, then I say give it a try, assuming you can afford it... at the worst, it'll at least give you another thing to give updates on and write about since we all know how little you have to say around here B)

It says they use muscle testing...

I thought kinesiology was muscle testing... I was just curious what type of muscle testing/kinesiology they use... I had thought things like bioset and ART used types of kinesiology but maybe the differences in the testing process are just how they interpret data and not different types of muscle testing

The treatment is supposed to get the body to release the toxic substance (in this case mercury) and there will be a rapid detox. It says it detoxes in 24 hours what would normally be detoxed in 50-100 days.

I did not read that the mercury is no longer an issue after one 5 minute treatment??

It depends on the person...how toxic they are, etc. What I read is that people with chronic illness generally need anywhere from 10-15 treatments to get better. I guess if you were only slightly toxic and not very sick you could get away with one treatment....I dont think thats normally the case.

They work in layers...not much different than Bioset or ART...They use kinesiology to identify the most toxic substance in the body and then detox it...with however many treatments of LED are necessary. Then they move on to the next most toxic substance (usually another metal) and so on and so on.

I read that out-of-towners who see the Dr. stay for one week at a time and get treated every 25 hours for that week.

The mercury is not "treated" so that it stays in the body and is no longer hazardous. The object is for the mercury to come out...to get detoxed.....just at a more rapid rate than some of the other available detox methods.

When you kill off microbes...mercury gets detoxed again...in the same manner they do it the first time around. The killing of microbes is not part of LED.

at the bottom of the site, it said that "for some individuals, approximately 10-15% of the LED groups need more than one treatment"... I actually misread that at first thinking it was saying 10-15% of people need more than one treatment for a given substance, but I guess it's saying 15% of the substances need more than one treatment for certain people.. maybe mercury is typically part of that 15% but the site does seem to imply that most substances only need one treatment for most people...

as for the mercury detoxification process, there are 3 distinct parts to it as far as I understand it... the first being identifying if mercury toxicity exists and where it exists in the body (and to what extent)... the kinesiology testing will cover that... the second part is freeing up mercury from anything it's stored in or bound to so that it can be removed from the body... the LED treatment doesn't cover this, right? I think you said this is done with either other antibiotics, medicines, or supplements... so I guess you'd still be taking stuff like cilantro, right?... and then the third part of the mercury detox process is to get the freed up mercury out of the body... which I assume is where the LED treatment comes into play...

I guess my confusion revolves around how exactly the LED treatment gets the mercury out of the body (assuming I'm correct above on what role the LED plays in the detox process)... does the mercury leave through a patient's urine? sweated out? some other way?

So it sounds like whatever they do with the lasers and such...somehow allows for a greater detox of mercury (or whatevers being treated). Like he said....it "opens the gates" allowing the toxins to leave the cells....then you still take some sort of chelator or other detox supplements and these help remove the toxins from the body.

I'm assuming its the actual LED treatment that does something which causes the body to release alot more toxins in a 24 hour period.....as much as would normally be detoxed in 50-100 days.

well, after reading the 5 key points in your reply, I'm probably less sure exactly what the LED treatment does... looks like it's not really involved in step 3 of the mercury detox process I listed above.. so I'm guessing it does play its role in step 2 or maybe somewhat in between steps 2 and 3 as a transport of the mercury after it has been freed up so that other supplements/meds can bind with it and take it out of the body.. either way, looks like I'm still gonna need to read up more on it to really understand what the LED specifically does...

and I don't know if you caught this part, but I'm not sure that the treatment is designed for you: "Avoid the toxin being treated over the 25 hours post-LED... do not use your cell phone"... I know you can handle all these detoxes and food intolerances, but this might be asking a bit much ;)

Has anyone ever noticed how annoying the Redbridge beer adds are in the window pane while you are reading this? I would really like a beer right now, but I don't think it would be a good idea. My mom was telling me about "the good old days" when you could have a drink once in awhile when you were pregnant. Yeah, those were different times, when drinking and smoking were ok during pregnancy <_< .

Donna, you are allergic to air  ? WTF? I know what you mean about hormones being out of whack. I have to shoot hormones into my abdomen. It turned me into an evil woman today . That's why I want a Redbridge beer!

Stupid advertising  !

Can't wait till April 25th! I should know something by then.

Uhh, about that memory thing...I can't remember what I was going to write about next :lol: !

 This is how I feel today. Totally fogged out.

Hey NGG, is your name Jin? I see it in your signature.

Claire, my OB/GYN said that moderate drinking was okay, just moderate. I drank a glass of wine once in a while or sipped on hubby's margarita ... I didn't order wine in restaurants, couldn't stand the judgmental looks, LOL.

The article he gave me defined "moderate" as fewer than 40 drinks per month! :o:o So I guess I drank ultra light!:lol:

I like my doc ... I still drive to Indy for my checkups! Good doctors are hard to find!

Where do the posts go when they disappear into thin air???

Stupid computers.

I'm not happy right now...this is like the 3rd time this week it happened and I had vowed to copy my posts from now on before I hit "submit"....but of course I forgot.

All of my responses have also vanished from my memory...everything is just gone...gonna call it a night...tomorrow is a new day. B)

I'm back...but still mad. :P

In responding to Charlie's last post to me I got a pretty good understanding of how LED is suppossed to work...so I was sort of excited about that....but my explanation was lost.

Anyways....Charlie...I'll get back to that later. ;)

I just wanted to say that NO...I didnt take your post in a negative way at all. I dont get offended too easily and in this case...and on this thread...we are all here to learn. :)

I appreciate any questions, or doubts, or specualtions, or whatever....thats how I end up learning the MOST. When I dont know the answer and I need to dig deeper to try to get it....thats how I learn. If people werent curious about stuff and how it works.....I'd be alot more "in the dark".

In alot of ways this thread is like a "think tank". We throw ideas out there for discussion and we learn new things in the process. I think its alot of whats kept this thread moving for so long...that along with the support, understanding and friendships that have been made along the way. :)

So yeah....if something doesnt make sense or seem logical...dont be worried to come out and say so. I will never be offended and it gives me and others an opportunity to learn more.

Because of your questions I went back and re-read until I made sure I could understand to the best of my ability what was written about it. I had skipped over alot of stuff previously....basically because it just seemed too hard.

Thats what I tend to do alot is skip over the hard stuff and just get a basic feel for what somethings about. If noone ever asked any questions I might not ever go back and try to wrap my brain around the more complicated stuff.

So thanks for asking the questions. :)

I'm gonna post what I learned tomorrow.

It would definately give me plenty to talk about....and you never know...it could happen....I could totally run out of stuff to say. :o

Oh...my docs havent actually recommended LED for me. I learned about it from someone online. I still have to ask my Dr.'s what they know about it, what they think about it, if it would be beneficial for me, etc.

None of the Dr.'s have ever mentioned it to me but the online person informed me that one of my Dr.'s will be using this method of detox at some point in the future.....she is not trained for it at this time. I assume she would be the best one to ask about it though....she must know enough about it if she plans on practicing it at some point.

Well...I can tell you this...

I might not have understood 75% of what I read on that site the first time around...but I sure as heck understood that part!!

Yeah...its a little scary to me and it definately made me think twice if I even wanna continue learning about LED after reading that. <_<

I'm thinking....ok...I might have to deal with some horrible detox symptoms, I'll be holed up in a hotel somewhere in Texas or Arizona or somplace, who knows what I'll be eating (do they even have WF over there  )....so I'm prepared for all that.

But the cell phone thing...I dunno. ..that seems a little "over the top" ya know.

I can deal with the other stuff but yeah you're right....they might be asking a bit much with the CELL PHONE restrictions. :P

Do you think they'll make me stay away from computers too???? :o:o

Ok...another post about mercury which I have "stolen" from LymeNET.. :P

This is straight from Dr. K.....for all of the Lymies.

It is almost ironical if someone has a diagnosis of Lyme disease and has not included the biologically correct removal of the amalgam fillings as an early part of their treatment.

Neurotoxins are cumulative and mercury is a more powerful neurotoxin than the ones created and released by Borrelia and co-infections.

The treatment of the microbes should follow the removal of any neurotoxic foci in the body, starting with the amalgam fillings and root fillings.

My advice rearding the use of microcurrent is dependent on the intelligent or at least common- sense-use of other therapeutic modalities in the proper order when Lyme disease is to be treated successfully. It is in my opinion not possible to treat Lyme without the removal of amalgam fillings first.

Does anyone get the feeling that I'm pounding this one into the ground? :P

I dont even know if anyone here with Lyme still has amalgams in....but just in case. ;)

Donna....you oughtta feel really good about being metal-free right about now. :D

The "microcurrent" stuff he's referring to is having to do with electromagentic devices such as rife machines, Doug coils and other stuff that some people use to kill off Lyme.

I didnt post the rest of what he said about using those instruments with amalgams in place....since I dont think anyone here is in this position...but if anyone wants the info....I'll post it all. :)

Dear Claire,

Yep, it is Jin! It is not my legal name, but hopefully that will change one day soon. My name does not fit me at all! Plus, I could finally get rid of any reminder of my family.

Naturally, my mother lit into me again about the doctor's appointment. Now I have to cancel it. She says I am selfish, a brat and ingrateful because I do not appreciate anything and all of that crap. I cussed her out, then she starts going on about respect. I told her, just because she is my mother does not give her the right to treat me badly.

The dog gets to get groomed, but I cannot go to the doctor. I know that does cost a lot less, and she is still paying on my bill from the doctor I used to go to (which I told her is my responsibility). I told her, my doctor cannot order tests if she does not see me. My Thyroid is messed up, but there is not telling which direction it is in. She goes on about how people sicker than me work. I hate her. I have gotten to the point I hate everyone and everything.

They go out to eat five days a week, and to the movies. Gee, I wonder why we cannot afford testing. I told her she did not have to completely give it up, just do it less. Naturally that did not go over well. She has high triglycerides (in the 300s) and cholesterol, but that is what I got for caring. I want out of here so bad. I am probably clinically depressed, and there are days I feel death would be a relief. However, I really just am tired of everything sucking.

I do not like sounding cold, but I do not want to say I love you anymore. I do not want to be hugged or touched. I am tired of being hurt. I am angry. No one counts the dishes I do, cleaning the table and the counters off only for them to be messed up again by everyone else.

No one pays attention to me cleaning the fridge out every week. No one pays attention to the fact I was the one here when the dog had the three seizures the other day, and I cleaned up the dog urine and vomit afterward. I was the one comforting the dog until they were over. I am tired of being unappreciated. I am tired of being abused.

I deserve better. I do not want to talk to her anymore. Just thinking about them both makes me furious. I would also like to point out, if it were not for me, she would not have a car. My Groovy Ruby Mobile is what she is driving! I did not have to let her use my car! I have been to sick to drive it, and I have had it since 1999. She does not take care of my car either.

What I would really like to do is break all of those dishes. I told her she can do her own dishes from now on. She complained that is the case anyway because so many dishes are always in the sink. I told her that is because they make so many! They cannot all fit in the dishwasher!

I said that if she would like to purchase a restaurant sized dishwasher, I would be more than happy to oblige. ;) Thanks for letting me vent.

I really hope this treatment works for you. We are all pulling for you! Before you know it, you will be painting the nursery! You will be picking out little cute onesies and mobiles. Are you hoping for a boy or girl, or do you care?

Sincerely,

NoGluGirl

Noglugirl-

Its so bad that you are in such a negative environment I have to believe that that has to cripple your ability to get better. Is there any way for you to live somewhere else? Didn't you say you had a brother? I know when i feel really negative or am around negative people it really effects the way i feel. Don't forget you ahve all of us- and we are here for you and support you!!! -I know this is easier said than done but Instead of focusing on your parents and all their negitivity focus on us and the positive poeple in your life.

Sun chlorella is supposed to be really great- i actually tried to take it for a while but i was to sensitive.

Today i ahve my 3rd chiropractor appt.

Ok I gave in and tried Peanut butter yesturday. I was already feeling bad and figured pretty much anything I ate would be the wrong thing so why not try it. IT was so hard not to rachel it becasue it was so good- but i was strong!! I didn't have that much.- I didn't react great to it- but not terrible either it is definitly not something i can have often but i am wondering if it is something i can have everyonce in a while.

Carla you are really making me wanna get in a sauna!!!

Donna-

I saw bumble bars the other day at my health food store all these different flavors I was really tempted to try one- do you just get the regular one? I wonder if i should go for it

Well, IMHO, if it's a choice between cell phone and computer...stay away from the cell phone.

I dont even know if anyone here with Lyme still has amalgams in....but just in case. ;)

Donna....you oughtta feel really good about being metal-free right about now. :D

I do...just wish it didn't cost so much. Hum, I'll forever "worry" about the gold crown he put in, even though it doesn't have amalgam under it, it's still gold. :( Someday I'll just have the darned thing pulled and then I won't have to worry at all. :)

I do not like sounding cold, but I do not want to say I love you anymore. I do not want to be hugged or touched. I am tired of being hurt. I am angry. No one counts the dishes I do, cleaning the table and the counters off only for them to be messed up again by everyone else.

My heart just breaks for your situation! :(

Glad the PB wasn't a horrible experience, lol. I buy the chocolate bumble bars. The hazelnut one isn't bad either. The "original" flavor isn't my favorite but it is still good. I think there is also a cashew or pecan or something like that...that's okay too. Still, my favorite is chocolate and with a tiny bit of PB...oh yeah.

Its so bad that you are in such a negative environment I have to believe that that has to cripple your ability to get better.

I just wanted to comment on this separately because this is exactly what Denise (the BioSET lady) was telling me on Saturday. She wanted me to make sure my thoughts were positive about the possibility of having lyme because negativity has a real negative affect on healing. It is amazing what our thoughts can do, and a constant negative environment certainly doesn't help to have positive thoughts.

She was telling me that as I lay there for my 15 minute treatment (the treatment is in a darkened room with music playing) to really think about the healing that has gone on in my body already and that will happen and to really feel good about the steps *I* have and am taking towards getting there.

Jin...you have taken so many positive steps too, keep thinking about all of those things.

I know it's hard for those of you in California to even consider that the land between NYC and CA is not just wilderness anymore, but they do have things like Whole Foods!

See -- http://www.goldenlamb.com/index.html -- other places have been settled for a long time! LOL Actually, this is a very neat piece of history in the next town over from where I live. If you ever saw Harper Valley PTA, it was filmed there... fun place to go junking/antiquing. Twelve presidents have visited the Golden Lamb, including W. Many other famous people, too ... I believe Charles Dickens stayed there.

I actually used to think Dayton, where I grew up, was the center of the universe! The refrigerator, electric starter for the car, the airplane, the cash register -- were all invented there. The Wright Bros. first practical airplane that they used to show the military about flying is here http://www.carillonpark.org/index.html. Orville Wright was disappointed in the Smithsonian exhibit of the airplane used at Kitty Hawk, so he oversaw the restoration of this plane and designed the display.

Cincinnati, of course, being on the Ohio river was an industrial city, a center of trade. Dayton was industrial, too. They've cleaned it up a lot since I was younger ... when I was a kid, we'd have smog alerts, but now there isn't as much pollution as back then. Most of the factories are gone.

There's some very old stuff around here. The town I grew up in between Dayton and Cincy is very old, dating back to 1776. The center of town is all historical (you can't remodel anything without permission) and VERY cool. I never appreciated it when I lived there, but now it's a neat place to go back to. These stone houses are literally down the street from the usual commercial areas that you see everywhere. http://www.mvcc.net/Centerville/histsoc/

So, there's your tour of my little part of the world!

What's interesting about your areas?

Speaking of Arizona, we leave Sat. for Phoenix! I'm really glad my herx started early!

I think you really should look into how you can change your situation. I don't have the answers, but I think you are just spinning your wheels where you are since you can't even be treated for anything.

No way, really!?

I'm in California...what could be MORE interesting. Actually I literally live down the street from the Winchester Mystery House. Winchester as in Winchester rifles fame. When the husband died, Sarah Winchester went on a wild building spree to ward off the ghosts of all the people who were killed by the rifles. It's a freaky house to be sure, lol...staircases leading nowhere, doors that open to nothing. She was told by spiritual mediums that as long as building continued the spirits would not haunt her.

Yosemite (where my one sister lives) is just a 3.5 hour drive from my house. It's a beautiful (but very touristy) place...a frequent subject of Ansel Adams photography.

Of course we have Los Angeles and Hollywood, but that's way down south in SOUTHERN California, lol.

And, I'm about 50 miles south of San Francisco, which all in itself is pretty interesting.

We used to live in LA -- for two years. Morgan was born there, she's a California girl!

That house sounds crazy!

There is a haunted house around the corner from where I live. A woman was killed there one hundred years ago. It was also part of the underground railroad. It's a tea shop now.... I think the Victorian woman is very happy with her house being a tea shop because my son worked there all summer and there were no incidents. On the other hand, the previous restaurant did not last long.

I know someone who lived there when it was a house, and she has all kinds of wacky stories. :o The woman walks around in it and haunts out people she doesn't want there. There is also a slave who sits by the window waiting.

The woman apparently did not like my acquaintance's cat! :o One time they found him stuffed into a hole under the floor boards! Whenever they'd come home from being gone, the parents would go through the house before they let the kids in because the weird occurances were so frequent.

Okay, enough of that ... I live in an old house, too! :P
