Omg...i Might Be On To Something

anyone

is brown rice o.k. for candida? how about brown rice pasta? any grains o.k.?

Dear Lisa,

Brown rice is okay for the Candida Diet. All grains on that diet are in very small amounts. The large number of carbohydrates is a concern. Many times, people with a yeast overgrowth cannot tolerate gluten. Corn is allowed, but as I said, in small amounts. It is the same with beans and other high carbohydrate foods.

Sincerely,

Used to be. On my first allergy test 4 years ago, I was allergic to them. When I was retested a year and a half ago, I wasn't.

Dear Donna,

I am allergic to dustmites. I sneeze like crazy around them. I cannot handle dust, either. I always have had a reaction to mold as well. I had skin testing done a couple of years ago, and found out I am also allergic to dogs! :o It is not like I can just get rid of my pet! I am not allergic to cats, though. Guess what my parents refused to let me have?

Sincerely,

Jin

Hum, did I miss a post from Rachel? I read that other thread earlier, but have been gone for a couple of hours...that last post by the party in questkion kind of set my teeth on edge...I had to back away a bit. I really am not seeing where she's coming from, but I'm trying to be understanding...I guess I just read things differently.

OMGosh...I may be singing my first SOLO this summer. I tried to weasel out of it, but I don't think they'll let me. :o Just came back from my small group practice and really, really tried to weasel...but nothing doing. :P

I asked because after I tested highly allergic to them last year, I put protective covers on my mattress and pillows and noticed a difference.

Funny--I used to be highly allergic to cats, and last year was found to be only mildly allergic. I think living with a cat so long de-sensitized me

Yes, I used to be allergic to cats and dogs, but this last test a year and a half ago didn't show it...still showed mold though. :(

I have the protective covers on my mattress and pillows. Had an air cleaner too, but the filters got too expensive and I found that I didn't need it any more anyway...stupid HEPA filter was $100! :( Don't even think they make the ones for my unit anymore.

On LN they're talking about a Lyme float ... it's a canoe trip ... we could meet there, it's for Lymies and their families ... we're all family here. Of course, it's only an hour away from my house! LOL Easy for me to suggest.

Every time I see that thread I think of a parade. One would think I would think of food first, but no...I was thinking they were talking about a big parade.

A Lyme float sounds like a frosty summer drink!

I like your version better. :P

I know my right knee still bothers me but not all the time. I used to get pain from my knee down to my ankle and massaging it would make it feel worse. I couldn't handle it. Lately, it's just been my knee.

:(

Oh and just to jump on the mushy band wagon- I love all of you and have no idea what I would do without this thread and all of your support.

....

I also work outside in my yard a lot--my house in GA was on a wooded lot, and in north Jersey we backed up to a wildlife preserve. We used to watch the deer frolic from the kitchen window. Actually, we have them here, too. A couple years ago, I almost hit one with my car right here in town.

It's not out of the realm of possibility that I got bit and didn't know it.

I'm still going ahead with all of the tests the new GI wants to do. I still can't discount the possibility of SIBO or something related. That is associated with Celiac, and I already do have that diagnosis.

Would be a kick in the head if I had both....

Lyme Cl..... :P:lol:

....

Yeah, it was the head thing that really scared me...and the shooting pain in the breast. I also can't drink much water...I was trying to do that while I was at work thinking it would help, but everytime I drank some I felt like throwing up. The nausea has calmed down a lot already, but I'm only taking small sips of water here and there...that may not be enough though.

I'm supposed to get my allergy shots today...when I'm done here I'm cancelling. Don't need the allergic reaction on top of this.

This does not sound good, I hope you are feeling a little better now. :)

.....

I love my enjoy life chocolate chips. I'm not on the candida diet as I don't want mercury floating who knows where.

:lol::lol::lol:

One thing I did think of was looking into renting a kiosk at this little shop in Rockport (it's a very quaint, seaside town near here that attracts TONS of tourists) to try to sell some of my pipcs. that would be pretty flexible.

What are pipcs?

I like the idea of a kiosk and I would add poetry and other books to your wares unless there is another bookstore too close.

PAIN such pain on the lower left side this morning! have been constipated for 2 days or so. What to do and take in this situation. :( I am taking Miralax but I don't think this is working either. milk of magnesia doesn't work also and causes more pain. I dont want to lose my colon but I don't know what to do. All I eat is chicken, squash and zucchini everyday. Do you think it could be to low fiber? I eat beans sometimes but I don't know if that helps. I take probiotics, cod liver oil, and sometimes charcoal. What should I do? I heard magnesium supplements are good but I don't know if they will work on me. What to do when In pain? I'm afraid to eat because of this. This is the worst part of this whole ordeal. Got 2 mercury fillings done. 5 More to go. Did one yesterday

That is a very plain diet, perhaps you could add some other vegetables. I was wondering if you put anything on them that might be causing you problems?

Sorry you are feeling so rotten, last winter I was consitipated for a week at one point and was taking laxatives that did nothing. I know I felt like my digestion just stopped but slowly it came back. I think the castor oil packs and epsom salt baths helped but truly there were weeks and months when it seemed to me that no matter what I did I didn't feel better.

....

I'm home sick today...I think I'm starting to flare again. I seem to be on a two week cycle and its starting. I was worried this might happen as we are leaving tomorrow for my sister's wedding.

Sorry to hear you are flaring just when you need to be travelling. :( Sending wishes for wedding wellness. :)

......blow me if I just don't dingo all kinds of important information.

A Lyme float sounds like a frosty summer drink! :D

Mmmmm, I was thinking a parade. :P

Yeah, I still react to dust, but I guess it's just not mounting an immune thing. I sneeze if there's too much dust and do get congested.

This does not sound good, I hope you are feeling a little better now.

Great minds think alike. Yes, I am feeling much better. D cleared up around noon as did most of the stomach pain...it's still there slightly and the breast pain is still there. Head feels better too.

Dear Laura,

I hope you feel better soon! I am so sorry you had to have a flare while you must attend your sister's wedding. These things always manage to be inconvenient. There never is a good time for them. Perhaps you will begin to feel a little better at least tomorrow.

Sincerely,

Jin

Glad you are feeling a bit better now. :)

If it repeats tomorrow morning I think you may very well be able to implicate the fatty acids supplement.

Hey everyone. :)

I'm having major problems with the board.....aggravating threads aside. :P I cant get to alot of pages and the pages are loading very slow....so sometimes not at all.

Are me and Donna the only ones experiencing this??

I tried to read what I could and I was WAY behind...cant respond to everything so just gonna jump in here. :)

I can only read pages going forward...but not back...I cant go BACK!! :o

Its like every other page that I cant read. :(

I know I missed stuff from further back...but its long gone now. I just wanna know whats on page 1087 now!! Then I'll consider myself caught up. ;)

Can someone quote something from that page so I can try to access it the way Donna did...through a search??

HELP!!

Oh...thanks you guys  ...I did take a little breather and I consider the discussion closed....I wont be responding to anymore posts like that. I've already repeated myself a bunch of times as it is. Yeah...I'm tired from it!!

I just wanna read page 1087. :P

I also wanna know what is going on with Tika??? I was really worried about Susan today....I'll try to see if I can get back into that thread of hers.

I know there is other stuff which I have dingoed already.

I did see Cruiser Bob's newspaper articles. Thanks Bob!! :)

I'm sure I'll be in Tahoe again...I cant see myself avoiding Tahoe. But maybe there are no ticks when its snowing??

Maybe I'll just go during ski season. Nah...Tahoe is just too beautiful during the summer. :P

Maybe I can just get my nerdliness on...pants up high.....legs tucked into socks, shirt tucked in, hat on, boots, gloves...

How scary would that be??

I'm sure I would be keeping alot more than the ticks away.

Hmmm...what else?? Cant remember anything...

Will try to access the pages again...I know there was stuff I wanted to say.....

Special attention needs to be paid to rodents and the ticks they carry in lodging that has not been occupied during the winter months.

So is it possible for rodents to carry lyme. I know they've been blamed for many diseases through the years, but is lyme one of them.

How come dog and cat ticks don't usually  carry lyme?

Its the exact of how my flare started two weeks ago...and two weeks before that...

In the beginning, I was more on a 1/1.5 week cycle..its starting to extend, but its always inconvenient, as you know!!

Rachel,

This is from 1087.

Laura, I assume this means things are progressing if the flares are spacing themselves a little further apart?

Dear Claire,

I have had ultrasounds before. I had cysts previously on my ovaries. The Mayan massage sounds good! I would rather take the time to do it than end up with more problems! Where do you get castor oil packs? Do you make them yourself?

If you are interested, I can post my simple castor oil treatment. It's easier than messing with the flannel soaked in castor oil. Yes, you can do it yourself. That's the beauty of it.

Claire can you eat dairy free chocolate made in a factory that also makes milk chocolate? Anyone else? I feel very stupid about this but are there people who react to even traces of dairy as we do to traces of gluten?

Yeah, I think I can, but I probably shouldn't . It's the sugar that really gets me.

And who else??? Has Carla posted? And halloooooooo Claire!

Haalllooooooooo to you too! Are you really far away? I think you're halfway across the country from me!

Whats the MAyan abdominal massage?

It's this cool massage you do on your abdomen that helps your reproductive organs. An American woman named Rosita Arvigo learned it from a Mayan shaman named Don Elijio. Here's the link to read more about it:

http://www.arvigomassage.com/definition_and_history.php

Rosita came to Boulder, and gave a workshop on Maya abdominal massage. She was awesome! I learned so much about my uterus that a doctor would never teach me. I started doing it when I found out my fibroids were huge! Her workshop pretty much convinced me that I wasn't going to let someone totally cut me open. I ended up having laparoscopic surgery last year, which is a lot less invasive than the abdominal surgery I was first recommended.

Well everyone whos tested has been diagnosed with Lyme....but not everyone on the thread has done testing...so you're not the only non-lymie. ;)

I guess I'm a Lymie-limbo. I was talking with a guy at work the other day. We were talking about weird diseases we are exposed to working outside, like West Nile Virus. How come no one talks about WNV around here? It was a big deal in Colorado a few years ago. Anyhoo, he says to me, "you know what I really worry about? Lyme disease". I say, yeah, I'm sure I must have it, after all the ticks I've been exposed to. I used to live in upstate New York, which is one of the Lyme centrals. If I have it, I don't think it's a huge issue for me. I found someone around here who does ART. I'm thinking of going cuz I don't feel like plunking down a huge sum of money to get more tests done on me that my insurance doesn't cover unless I know what to look for. I'm kind of ambivalent about it though because besides being a little tired, I feel pretty good these days.

Oh, I tested like 10 on that sensitivity test <_< . I thought the questions were pretty arbitary and that just because I didn't test higher didn't mean I wasn't sensitive! Andrea, I could relate to your daughter. Whenever I have lint balls in my socks, it drives me crazy. I once read that's an ADD thing. So, I can understand if tight clothes would bother your daughter. I think ADD symptoms can be caused by a variety of things, including head injuries, toxicities, and even nutritional deficiencies, like a lack of B12.

She just had me pull out a pair of culotte type pants that she originally didn't want anymore. They obviously don't bother her too much.

I also wanna know what is going on with Tika??? I was really worried about Susan today....I'll try to see if I can get back into that thread of hers.

I think we're okay....still not sure.....Tika is stumbling around like a drunken dingo....it scared me so much last night as it came on suddenly and abruptly, and I found her this way when I came home from work (um, from teh job I no longer have - - walked out today. Long story of HEINOSITY!!!! ) FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS LATER  (well, Annie got a physical too and de-worming for both and other things), we don't completely know what's wrong (blood/urine results Tuesday), but suspect vestibular disease - - it's like an inner-ear infection that typically afflicts older dogs. Stinker is SO confused and disoriented....I just stay as close as I can to her for now, and guide her as she walks, keep her comfy. She's on antibiotics, and good Lord, I hope that's ALL it will take.....not steroids - which it will be if she doesn't get better. :( But, I thought she'd had a stroke....and our amazing Sandy, the vet tech/veterinarian's wife, really gave me some good info. :)

rachel - - locked out of Rville!:o so scary - - someone needs to HOLD YOU!!

and your nerdliness - - love that word, I wasn't around when it came about - - - well now that is fantastic, and yes you WILL be keeping more than ticks away in your getup, but better safe than sorry, eh? I don't care WHAT diagnosis or disease I might have, nothing would ever, ever keep me out of the wilderness......ever. I think you feel the same way. ;) Oh, except the !#&$@!!*$ bloody gas prices - - now THAT keeps me in the Valley much more than I'd like. HARRUMPH!

How come dog and cat ticks don't usually  carry lyme?

I don't understand this either....I"m sure someone knows. But, I have a dear friend who lives in Carmel that got severe and sudden Lyme - - and you know what - she had a doctor who evidently knew right away - how crazy is that? - and was treated and cured within a month, I think. Pretty unusual, from what I"m hearing....

Laura, I assume this means things are progressing if the flares are spacing themselves a little further apart?

 I think I"m confused about Laura. Laura, I know you were tested NOT to have Lyme, but babesia, if I recall......so, you guys said ask, if I"m confused, and I am. So - - what are flares? and the spacing apart and progressing - is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Haalllooooooooo to you too! Are you really far away? I think you're halfway across the country from me!

Claire

silly, it's only Colorado to California, is that halfway? :P Not that far....

Shoot, I forgot what else.

'night, all.

Laura was positive for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever so I think it's being treated like lyme......I think it's part of lyme.

Flares are like herxes in a way I think. I'm assuming it's part of the cycle of the critters. Flares are worsening of pain.

Am I right guys?

Rachel, I ventured out of Rachelville to visit the thread we shall not speak of :lol::ph34r: and I would only like to say it made me very grateful for you and this thread.

......

I think ADD symptoms can be caused by a variety of things, including head injuries, toxicities, and even nutritional deficiencies, like a lack of B12.

Claire

Thanks for the link Claire and I agree with you about the ADD and there being different causes.

I think Vitamin B and D deficiencies have an enormous impact on people's health, of course the question is what caused the deficiencies in the first place and how to remedy that but in the interim supplements make a huge difference.

I know that by the time I found out my B 12 was in the critically low stage I was having neurological problems and emotionally I had no patience at all, I could go from relative sanity to the feeling I was losing my mind over minor things in seconds. My poor sweetie.

Getting our B levels checked is no big deal and standard doctors do it when you have a physical, if you have had a physical in the last year you should be able to find out what they are. On the sheet my doctor had it said the acceptable range was from about 178 to 788 and mine was 226. 226 is not acceptable, anything under 500 is low. The first time I had a B 12 shot I bounced out of the doctor's office, I had energy and I felt happy. All those nerve endings that felt strung out suddenly relaxed.

I think it is becoming clearer from this thread that people can have Lyme and cope with the Lyme but not with it's nasty friends like mercury and candida. I know I feel I am in that category although recently with my night sweats I am thinking F Babs is looking for a fight too.

Susan, I hope Tika will be okay. :(

I had a long day doing a food handling course. I'm pretty sure I passed, I'll be very embarrassed, not inbareassed since I will have clothes on, if I don't pass. :P:lol:

Jin, have you had a chance to check out the Lyme Strategies site?

 oh my gosh, it's all the letters and numbers, I think. When people throw around their number readings, and letters - - see, I'm so confused I can't even remember. and the "bands" - - that's confusing too......I think that involves letters and numbers. Oh, and the names of the @*$!&*!! germies, all the babs, chlorella (and is that a virus, or a beverage you all drink? ), and all the other weird names of the evil bugs, and all the treatments, I forget what is for what and who's taking what for what..... and then this mysterious HERXING...... See, I was gone for a while, and when I came back, and I still do come and go, and there are new things all the time from your brilliant scientifness, and dang if I just can't follow it all.

It can get confusing--for a while there I was just reading but not posting much. I'm glad that everyone is figuring things out, though--and don't feel alone in getting confused sometimes. ;):P

I still would like to do that. Just don't know that we'd ever have the extra money. :(

And with all of us spread out all over, it would be a logistical nightmare! Still, it would be nice....

(raises hand) I KNOW! We print out and send this entire thread to.....let's see......Oprah? Dr. Greene? Lyme Central? Richard Branson? (with Virgin Atlantic) Or - who's the richest man - - is it Warren Buffett? Elisabeth Hasselbeck? is she the wealthiest Celiac we know?

just brainstorming here. :)

Actually, that's a great idea! :D

Dear Donna,

I am allergic to dustmites. I sneeze like crazy around them. I cannot handle dust, either.

When it's feasible, I've found covering my mattress and pillows in an allergy-proof cover helps greatly. :)

Mmmmm, I was thinking a parade. :P

So was Donna

Is this how we spell it when we think it's a possibility but don't know for sure. :P:lol:

YAY miamia...I'm excited for you! :)

I need to schedule one too....I know it would help with drainage.

Sorry you've had 2 rough nights. :(

Is the estrogen having any positive affect on you?? It was for appetite right? Is that getting any better?

Rachel-

Its so funny I really want to scehdule a massage I was definitly gonna do it yesturday and I didn't- sometimes the nice things we can do for our selves are the things we put off. But Clare posted about this mayan massage and it sounds really interesting I think I might look into it. I think and abdominal massage could really help me. The problem of coursewith all of this is money but If It made me feel any better it would be worth it.

I have mixed feelings aboutt the estrogen I think it has had some positive effects but also has agrevated the candida so I ahve had major candida symtoms I am really hoping the diflucan will help to quiet some of those.

Good for you. :) and thanks. :D

I do worry about you with the diflucan and such.

Do you think it's your meds or combo of meds? Did you eat something that your body doesn't like?

Sounds miserable. I do hope things calm down for you.

Yep, I can say New Jersey. :P

You did a lot of hiking though.....don't know if she has/did.

Hey Patti!.......are you avoiding all the talk about you?

Andrea-

thank you so much for your concern. I think the combo of the estorgen and the diflucan is hard for my body but I think if I am going to take the estrogen I need to take the diflucan because of the candida. Its very frustrating. But I want to give the estrogen a chance to help me if it can.

Is talitha any better?

Ok by the way you guys are all gonna think i am a freak but even though I can't take it right now When i did I really did not mind the taste of chlorella- I kind of liked it. I know I am a weirdo
