Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Recommended Posts

Patti, if it isn't DH, could it possibly be chicken pox? I know "they" say that you can't get it twice, but "they" have been wrong about most of the problems with our collective health, so why not chicken pox? (And I do know someone who swears he got it twice). Besides, the way the vaccines are affecting things these days, I wouldn't be surprised if the chicken pox virus (and others) could mutate.

Thanks Alison--Yea, I know what you're saying ;) I did have chicken pox, and also when I was pregnant with my first child, I remember being told that I was immune. It must have shown up in my bloodwork.

These don't look like the chicken pox blisters, they're small, deep pink and very itchy. They don't break, though, even when I scratch.

Before I was diagnosed, I had this same sort of thing just on the inside of my arm and fingers. I don't know why it would happen now, after 2 years gluten-free.

Last week, I had my antibodies tested, and they were all in the normal range.

I'm stumped

Patti,

I'm wondering if you might indeed be sensitive to molds?? The trail mix would be very moldy...nuts, seeds and especially dried fruit are all high in mold.

I sometimes get what I call "bug bites" but they only occur on my toes.

They look exactly like bites and itch real bad so the first couple times it happened I thought I'd been bitten several times on my toes.

Eventually I realized it wasnt that...especially since it would happen in the winter too and I'm always wearing socks...even to bed. Sometimes the bites would stay for weeks and drive me crazy and my skin would get raw. They would be on almost all my toes (both feet)...never anywhere else.

It was always because of something I was eating or taking. It doesnt happen anymore...its been several months but I'm 99% sure it had something to do with molds. <_<

I keep coming back to the trail mix myself--only because it's the only new thing I ate. Could be mold or the seeds themselves. I ate it on Thursday and Friday--could that cause more to appear today?

These feel like bites, but they're all over. Only a few on my feet/legs--most are above my waist and under my clothes. Last night, I would start itching and another one would appear--that's how I'm sure they're not bites.

Anyway, I see the DO on Tuesday. I'll see what he thinks. Obvoiusly, I'm not eating any more trail mix :P

This is what I get for eating a snack out of a bag like a normal person

Yeah...I wonder how much fiber 2 cups of oats has? I'll have to look into that..and also the packets of stevia. It could also be the charcoal...I'm pretty sure that can cause constipation as well.

Its just so sad that I cant ice cream because that definately gave me the most normal bm's I've had in a long time. Maybe it would have caused "D" but with me having the tendency to be constipated...maybe the dairy sort of evened everything out.

Yep, my guess is that it was "evened" out, lol. Hum, I'm trying to remember how much fiber is in oatmeal...I think a half cup has around 3 grams of fiber, so 2 cups would have 12 grams...if you're eating that at one time that might be a problem, although I would tend to think it would cause cramping too...if you're eating that much at one time, drink LOTS of water with it. :P

Patti - don't some people with DH have breakouts, even after gluten free? I don't know.

There's no pain with this right...it's just itching? When you said above your waist I started thinking shingles, but that would be quite painful.

Nope, no pain at all--just itchy.

I really don't know anything about DH--at the time I was diagnosed, the spots were the least of my worries so I never even mentioned them. Stupid me--I didn't even know they could have been connected

I was just reading about your BioSet appt. Wow--so many reactions and so many organs affected :o I'm glad they're beginning to unravel what up with you, though. :)

Yeah....its sooo unfair. I wish I could just grab something....anything...and just eat it right out of the bag for once! :(

Donna....I checked and its 4 grams per half cup...so 16 grams. The stevia doesnt say so its probably insignificant. I think it might have to do with the charcoal and/or dying yeast possibly clogging me up. <_<

Today we did food additives--only the last half. I reacted to nearly every category and to almost everything. Sadder, they were cross-reacting with tons of stuff...organs and body systems and such. Then she checked which organs were being affected. Nearly every single organ or body function was affected!

Yikes! :o That's pretty bad. I'll be curious to see what next weeks looks like as well as hearing about your next ART session. :)

Have fun tonight. :0

I would be suspecting that as well. Symptoms can take up to three days to manifest so I assume it's not all out of your system yet.

Rachel,

I forget what DO stands for but it's a doctor who looks at the whole body to treat, not just specialized in one thing. That's not a real solid definition and I hope Patti can elaborate on it. My old doctor was a DO.

Rachel,

Yeah...my bug bite reactions were never happenning immediately so when it was actually occurring I never could figure out what was causing it specifically. I just know that looking back...whenever it happened I was eating moldy foods. Now I'm not and it doesnt happen anymore....so who knows.

Rachel--It's an osteopathic doctor. They treat the body as a whole, recognizing that everything is connected, so to speak.. I'm seeing him for the first time on Tuesday :)

Three days--I didn't realize that....and me, the queen of delayed food allergies :lol::blink:

Yes, I don't eat moldy foods normally either--there is such a limited amount of foods that agree with me that I pretty much stick to the same things all the time. That's how it was so easy to pick out exactly what was different. I never eat dried fruit--come to think of it, I stopped eating raisins and dates almost 2 years ago because I suspected they were making me sick. I'm sure we discussed it at the time

There's no pain with this right...it's just itching? When you said above your waist I started thinking shingles, but that would be quite painful.

I was wondering shingles, too, until she mentioned her foot--shingles is when the chicken pox virus goes dormant in one of the spinal nerves, and when it reactivates, it follows the path of that nerve exactly. The whole nerve becomes inflamed, and blisters appear on the skin, exactly following the path of the nerve below.

In short, shingles suck (or do you say, "shingles sucks?")

Patti, if you ever get a firm diagnosis, would you mind pm-ing me and letting me know? My own DH-type rash (which was never confirmed as DH) reappeared recently, although I'm sure I've been gluten-free. It went away after several days of Claritin (and I NEVER take over-the-counter meds!) and diet paranoia on my part, but I still feel very, very itchy, like there are tiny prickles on my skin.

It's quite possible that I've been wrong in assuming that it was DH--but I have no clue what direction to look now.

The other possibliities for my itchies (maybe yours too?) are thyroid (when I'm getting too much, I sometimes get rashes), or CC, though I was never sensitive before to it. Still, things change.

I'll let you know if I happen to figure anything out, too.

Dear Rachel,

Thank you for the info on the enemas. That is interesting stuff! I have heard a lot about colonics as well. I was wondering about the differences. I am not sure if this is something I could do, though. My system is nuts.

Dear Patti,

I think it could be DH. I have those bumps too! They are small and reddish or pink. They look sort of like pimples or blisters. They itch but do not have a head on them. I have them under my nose between it and my top lip.

Dear Alison,

I knew I saw you lurking a few times! How are you? We have missed you! At the moment, I am doing alright, but have felt rough much of this week. I do not know why nothing seems to set well with my system or my stomach lately.

Dear Donna,

Really, the FACE and EGBDF does not help? I am surprised! Everyone needs to learn in their own way, though. Some of us are better at picking up things with visual aids, while others do better hearing. We all have our own individual way of what helps us learn best. I think that is one thing they ignore in schools that should be addressed.

Sincerely,

Jin

Yes, we should definately keep each other posted on this.

Yours sounds very similar to what I have going on. I also have the itchies under my skin, and did the last time this happened. At that time, I switched laundry detergents, soaps--everything I could think of. Even the shower water hitting my skin would sting, and I thought I'd go nuts with the itching.

Going gluten-free helped tremendously, and I didn't have it again until now.

In addition to the trail mix in question, I have gotten cross contaminated twice recently, resulting in being sick with gluten type reactions on and off for the last couple of weeks. Possibly it was a combination of things that got this going again.

I didn't realize that the thyroid could cause itching. I tested borderline low 2 years ago, and then it normalized. I do have other symptoms of low thyroid so I will be asking about that on Tuesday, too.

OMG now I am ROTFLMAO because you all thought pipcs were something. we might have to make them something. HMMMM...what WOULD a Pipc look like. Must think about this.

...

We all, I've decided to cancel getting my amalgams/crowns done this year. I don't want to chance thing with Seth for one and I really need to apply the money to current bills. With prices going crazy, I don't need the added stress of an already far short food budget. Obviously if I need to have a crown done before next year we'll deal with it and go see the dentist in Eastern Washington.

Andrea, this sounds like a wise plan. :)

....

HE SAID WE WILL GET TO THE BOTTOM OF WHY I'M NOT 100%. I TRUST HIM AND RIGHT NOW...IT'S WHAT I NEED.

...

JUDY, THIS IS GREAT!

....

I told my friend that I must be just incredibly toxic and also incredibly sensitive to these toxins....hence all the immune responses.

In the past I would have stopped what I'm doing....thinking I'm making things worse. Now I'm thinking I'm doing the right thing in getting rid of stuff but I'm just gonna continue having these reactions until my immune system isnt so overwhelmed anymore.

......

What do you guys think?? I'm thinking I'm in the range of really high toxicity considering most people dont throw up after the saunas or get these symptoms from a plain enema.

I'm thinking that if you have the energy to work then you should continue doing the detox, I think more you can detox the less your system will be overwhelmed. ;)

ROFL..

Yeah....that weekend I googled the heck out of "sauna and vomit" "sauna and throw up" "sauna and puke your guts out"

and I came up with NOTHING.

OMG...that never happens...I can always find something....but this time I came up empty. :o

I'm gonna do what you said and take days off for resting my body. There will definately be no racheling with this stuff.

Rachel, I've thrown up from getting overheated, especially if I am toxic.

 I didn't have time to read any of it, but I did see, and do remember, that saunas CAN cause nausea - - and if this happens one is to immediately exit (unless you become INBARASSED and pull a Rinne! but no, tossing your cookies I do not think IS normal!

:P

ok some scientificness-

this is mostly from this candida bk I read that actually had alot of useful info.

" Enemas are a must for most candida patients" he suggests taking a baby enema and filling it with acidophilus, pau d' arc tea or and antifungal med thaat you take so you get high doses of yeast fighters in the more distal and high concentrated zones of Candida. - and he said this is shown to " benefit in eliminating the fogginess of the brain"

Also he talks alot about the spleen- which we have not talked to much about. what I thought was really interesting was that he says when the spleen ahs a deiciency of energy (which is true for most candidites (/I made that word up)) any food intake will be followed by a reaction resembling an alergic symptom to those foods. In reality its not it is the spleen showing it does not have the strength to do its job.

Ok I hope this makes sense I am feeling prettty awful I was going to go down to 1 diflucan again but my doc really wants me to at least stay at the2 for the weekend. I had a horrible day yesturday I don't know if its die off or what but I have not felt this bad in a long time.

Sorry to hear you are feeling so bad. :( Thanks for the info.

So, with no appetite, I'm skinny ... with working out, I'm muscular ... and with lying out in the sun, I'm tan ... who'd ever guess I was SICK?! Adam laughs about it.

Yes, looking good seems to go with Lyme. :(:P:lol:

Hi, everybody,

I can't begin to keep up with this thread, but I try to check in just to make sure you guys are all still okay!

Nice to see you. :)

Interesting thoughts about the rash. ;)

Mostly just reading along, feeling a little overwhelmed at all the work I have laid out for myself in the next few weeks, fortunately my sweetie is home and will be helping.

Hello everyone- just popped into read and check up on all my friends. patti- I'm glad you are seeing the DO on Tuesday. When you mentioned they were near your waist, I thought shingles too. Thet=y are really painfu;l, but I THINK they can start off as itchy. I HOPE it's not that though because Shingles Suck! Or shingles sucks :P I think you and I are similar and we all know I'm sensitive to mold  so maybe you arre too!

Rachel- THANK YOU for the links. I uhm tried this am and it worked well (sorry if that's TMI).

I started doing salt yesterday (OMG- that sounds like code for "I started doing crack yesterday). :P

So now I am doing the Theralac probiotic, 6000 mg Vitamin C, milk thistle, and 3/4 teaspoon of magnesium.

It was so weird. About two hours after I took the salt with 2000 mg of Vitamin C I actually got a fever! Well, 98.8 but for someone who's been waking up with a basal temp of 95 and rarely goes above 96, 98.8 FELT like a fever. It felt bad but in a way, I was excited because I thought, hey maybe my immune system is waking up a little! I haven't had a fever in probably 3 years. I have been much colder than I used to be and yesterday I was hot all day. I even sweat!

I used to be very warm and sweat very easily and the last 4 years I have been cold even when it's 90 degrees out. Yesterday I actually felt like less of a reptile! I didn't feel good but it was nice to be warm.

Jin- I think the way you address everyone in your posts like "Dear Carla" "Dear Mia" is so sweet!!!!!!!!!!!:rolleyes:

It sure has been quiet over here. You guys will probably get all talkative today when I'm not here huh? <_<

Off to my moms in about an hour. Children can't wait, although the weather isn't as nice as we'd like.....they were looking forward to riding there bikes (which are at Grandama's).

Dear Bev,

I think it is a habit I got into a long time ago! I like to address everyone this way so they know who I am talking to! There are a lot of us on the board. Since we are all friends, it is fitting to include Dear. We all have helped each other so much!

Dear Rinne,

It is great your sweetie will be home to help you! ;) We are going to be painting the outside of the house today. I have to be careful, because of the heat. I also have class work to catch up on. Finance is HEINOUS! I am hoping to do okay in this class so I can never take it again! This is the second time around, and should be the last! My brain just seems so slow. I try to make it understand and think, but it doesn't want to! :(

Dear Everyone,

You know the other day how we were talking about menopause? Well, my mother is about halfway through. Menopause has caused her to do some things that normally she would not do. :P The other night, she was cooking beans. My dad always has a bad habit of telling no matter who is cooking how to do it.

He does that to me, even though it is my food and I have been cooking for quite some time. Mom was tired of his crap, so she took the foil and started popping him with it to get him out of the kitchen, and told him he could make the beans if he was going to be so bossy!:lol::lol: Hormones can make us do crazy things! I have another fun story about that involving a classmate. This one has to do with pregnancy hormones.

My classmate has been having a hard time with her second pregnancy. She has had bad morning sickness, and on top of that, mood swings. The other day, she got annoyed and took the fan out of the window, and threw it at their big dog! It scared the crap out of the dog! Now he is afraid of her! Now, I am not promoting animal cruelty here, but it was funny.

Sincerely,

Jin

Hi Bev--Exciting news about the increased temperature! It may be uncomfortable, but at least something is moving about and shaking things up in there. I'll be so excited to hear how your therapies are working. You need to start feeling better :D

Hi Jin--My husband is painting the deck floor today--I had planned to help, but it's going to be 90 and it's already pretty humid. I can't take that kind of heat, so I'm staying in and baking him a lemon pie :P Come to think of it, there's plenty inside to keep me busy today....

Menopause--yep, it's a real trip!

Hi Andrea--Have fun today and I hope the kids have a blast on their bikes :)

Dear Patti,

I don' t know how long I will last outside. I have class at 8pm. There is a lot to do in here! I am just going to limit my time on things. That way I do not overdo it.

Oh yes, the menopause is a trip alright! It is a difficult journey for us all! Perhaps during menopause, people should just be locked up for others' safety? PMS is bad, but I hear this is worse! Mom says it is way worse than PMS!

Her hormones are messed up bad, because she had a hysterectomy at 31, but they did not take everything out at once. She had three operations to remove her ovaries, then her uterus, then the rest. So technically, she went throught menopause after that happened shortly after I was born, and now she is going through it again!

Sincerely,

Jin

P.S. I am coming to get that pie, too! ;)

Well my Sunday has started out really bad. I woke up at 7 am and I've been a frantic mess ever since.

So I've been thinking that its strange I havent heard anything yet about the scheduling for Dr. Amys visit in June. I planned on calling this week to see whats up. So I'm going through the mail this morning and theres a letter from Dr. Amy saying she'll be in town from the 7th-10th and to call BioSET for sceduling... the deadline was the 21st!!! :o

New patients will be allowed to schedule after the 21st.

So yeah...I'm sure there are no more openings. :(

I have no idea why I wasnt contacted. I'm pretty sure Amy at BioSET always calls everyone to set up the appts.

I was frantic and forgot it was Sunday...was gonna call BioSET and try to get in. OMG...my cellphone is GONE!!! :o:o Its not anywhere...I LOST my cellphone.

So I went to a whole bunch of places yesterday and luckily my brainfog seems to be improving lately (yay for detoxing) so I was able to actually remember when I last had it...what stores I went to, etc. I knew for sure I left it at Whole Foods...my last stop of the day. I called and they HAVE IT!!!!! :)

I cant even tell you...I almost cried tears of joy. I just got that cellphone too...and I LOVE it. I would have hated to replace it since it wasnt cheap. So I'm really thankful it was turned in.

BIG sigh of relief. :)

So I emailed Scott and told him of my situation and if I cant get in can I schedule with him for an ART session?? I also updated him on my CD57 results...asked for his thoughts on the test and how useful it is, etc. I let him know all my detox issues....throwing up after sauna, etc.

He got back to me within 5 minutes. He's so great about this!! BioSet is closed till Tues. but he's gonna try to contact them via email and see if something can be arranged. He said Dr. Amy has nothing to do with the scheduling...its all done at BioSET. He said maybe they dont have my contact info....and that he thought they had already contacted everyone. However, I definately was NOT contacted....I know they have my number. :(

So he said if nothing can be done he will schedule me for July....but for now he wants to push for an appt. with Dr. Amy and he's hopeful they can still get me in. If not...then theres still July.

MAJOR bummer!!!! I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that I'll get in but its not the end of the world. I can still get a session in July but I wont be able to see Dr. Amy until Sept.

Anyways...keep your fingers crossed for me. ;)

Carla....SEEEEE....remember my paranoia??? It was really my gut instinct telling me something just isnt right...and there is just too much weirdness going on. I dont see why I would be forgotten in the scheduling. <_<

About the CD57...he responded that his experience has been that the results are tracking his recovery. His first CD57 was done after many months of treatment and the result was 65....his latest CD57 was 161....so he's definately done well with treatment. He said those who dont get better when they have high CD57 probably have co-infections or other issues that need to be addressed. He said he thinks we all have other issues and that metals is probably an issue for everyone with Lyme.

I'm sure he sees metals as an issue with every person in ART.

He said FIR saunas are really good for detox so I should just ease myself into it. I would have to buy my own to do this....I cant see myself going to BioSET and having them set everything up just for 5 minutes.

I'll get one of the cheaper ones....they have portable ones for less than $300.
