Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Recommended Posts

no one in my family or friends really "gets" it and what it's like to feel sick all the time

Aint that the truth. :( I ended up drifting away from almost all of my friends.

It made no sense to them that when I felt a little better than usual on a Thursday, I still couldn't make plans for Sunday.

They can't comprehend any of it.

Hope the ND appt is good! I know mine helped me plenty, even if I DID get very frustrated w/ her at times.

wow you guys have been busy.......

Rachel-

your appointment sounds amazing. I am glad you feel so good about it(yes it is obvious how excited you are) I can't wait to hear more about it.

Oh I have mentioned the oxy powder here a few times. It does work- but be careful- do not follow the instructions on the bottle it will be way too much for you I am sure!!

I do the castor oil pack pretty much the same way you do. I just put it on at night when I get in to bed I always wake up to pee so I usually let myself fall asleep with it and then when i wake up I take it off and go back to bed. I always feel funny when i am wrapping my body in saran wrap it kind of makes me feel like i am putting on a corset or something.

Susan-

I love that you said you were raising your hand- very clever. Ahh..... Mojitos- yum But to be honest I was always a sangria girl- YUM SANGRIA- that stuff is dangerous!!

Donna-

so happy you finished part of your treatment you must feel really good- treat yourself to something - a massage- blue toes

Andrea-

this is a big appt. week for me. I have that massage guy today, wednesday and friday and thursday i have an appt. at my health center.

Laura-

hope everything goes ok with the results. Email me - i miss your emails

****BEV ****My poor baby I can't believe how rough it is for you right now- i feel terrible i wish i caould be there to take care of you . (thats my motherly instinct talking) I hope today is better for you. Stay strong it will pass (even if it dosen't feel like it right now)

Oh My GAWD- I herx hard for a day and all you west coasters go nuts posting way past my bed time. tsk tsk tsk.

Tom- Yes, I am a Nepenther and I love Big Sur so much. My husband 9well boyfriend then) and I lived in san Francisco from 1999-2002 and Big Sur was one of my two favorites (the other was Yosemite in fall or spring). I wish I could tele-transport myself to Nepenthe right now!!!!!!

I may be coming out of my herx.....it hurts!!!!!!!!!!!

Tom, mia and everyone, thank you for your words of encouragement.

Susie- wanna come out with the dingos for the summer and be my nanny? Or maybe we could ahem (clears throat) go live at a spa in Sscottsdale (VERY close to Phoenix) and you can still be my nanny. :P

In fact, they've sent an envoy to United Bacterium to deliver a communique requesting immediate intervention.

And thoughts of the "omg just kill me already" variety might be common.

Yeah- as my friend Mike says 'Ah just take her out behind the barn and shoot her." Meanie. I should post a very silly picture I have of him as my avatar for revenge.    :ph34r:

Reporting in doctor's appointment: I have my first meeting with my naturopath tomorrow afternoon. I can't wait because I'm so tired of feeling so awful all the time.

Hopefully, I'll be on the path to good health soon, and I'm sure I'll have lots of questions for you all tomorrow night!

Thanks again for this thread; it's really like a gift for me at a time like this, as no one in my family or friends really "gets" it and what it's like to feel sick all the time, so I'm very thankful for all of you!

Can't wait to hear about the appointment!!! This thread is near and dear to all of us, that's for sure!

Most of us here don't have a brain, so having a bit of brain fog is not a negative here! :P

So, 45 and single. We're going to need to see a picture ... not for my sake, I'm happily married ... but if you're going to be flirting around here, I'm the screener. Remember, we're shallow!

I find I have very limited energy for conflict these days. I prefer to accept that others see things differently than I do.

Me too...conflict is very draining! I am also making a deal with myself to limit my stress on all levels. I am choosing NOT to be stressed as much. :P

Um, halloooooooooooooo,

Lyme Cl**

Exactly!

What does this mean? Lyme Cl**???

Lyme Clan! A term Rinne first coined somewhere a few hundred pages ago. :P I'll let her explain it.

Andrea, I saw your post about appts: I have mine today to talk about my ig. results. im nervous.

Can't wait to hear about this too!

wow you guys have been busy.......

Got the perfect polish just waiting for me!

Bev - does that mean you're feeling better today?!!

Is Nepenthe the one with the terrace outside...kind of above the neat little store that has the most unusual stuff sometimes?

Love that place!

tom-

what kind of music do you play

I'd play in any kind of band that would have me.

Well, not much interest in a symphonic band, but they may not have much interest in me either.

There's been original rock, cover bands, jazz combos, jazzy funk (or was that funked-up jazz), reggae, ska, blues, ummm should be more but I can't think of them. Aha! And the catch-all - uncategorizable!!

.....

Can you guys tell how excited I am today!! :D

Yup and it is wonderful that you are.

What does this mean? Lyme Cl**???

Hmmm Cl is Chlorine. ** in programming is exponent.

Nope - that doesn't help.

{I could while away the hours,

Conferrin' with the flowers . . . . . . }

Lyme Cl... is the short version of Lyme Clan, denoting the serendipity :lol: of so many of us on this thread with digestive issues finding eachother and then finding out we have Lyme. :)

Lymies: Rachel, Carla, Miamia, Donna, Laura, Beverly, moi. Am I missing anyone. There are others we suspect but have no test results yet or they have been tested by less than reliable means and we are not sure.

Miamia, I hope you won't mind me sharing your story, I think it illustrates Lyme Clan. :) Miamia was tested last year by Igenix and tested positive but was not being treated for Lyme. It was after Rachel and I posted our Igenix results and studied them that Miamia posted her results here. We could see by her results that she was testing positive for Lyme and we encouraged her to talk with her doctor again.

Love that place!

It's been too long for me to keep straight which is which. All I know is, when driving south, one's on the left and one's on the right. Both have ample outdoor seating. Can't be in Big Sur and NOT have that.

Bev? Yooohoooooo!?

YOU CALLED, SENOR? Nepenthe is the one on the right as you're driving south with the ocean fron terrace and that AMAZING store (I am a shopping glutton).

I love Nepenthe (especially the name- sweet elixir).

I also love the Big Sur River Inn because you can go sit in the river in these cool chairs and have your margaritas delivered. I should upload a pic if I can find one.

Yes- Donna- I THINK i feel better and may be at the tail end of surviving my first herx. Holy moly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tom, if he is a girl, would be Tomasina (my dad's name is Tom but he's really a guy :P )

I think he should be Saxy Spice :P

Rachel- It's SO GREAT to see you so excited and Donna to have finished her treatment!!!!!!!!!!!

 Saxy Spice. Yes, it fits. Um, think I have found my male equivilent on this forum. that is SO stinkin scary.

Sorry we padded the whole thread with fluff yesterday, Tom and I, the top two posters of the day. that is heinously crazy! Staying OFF computer today, too much to do, and in abject panic about it......heart is literally racing....

Bev - - you survived your first herx! and look at you, silly as ever! yay!

Okay, then YES, I LOVe that place. A friend and I used to drive down there...we'd go hiking then go to Nepenthe (and of course the store). Great place...miss my friend...she moved to New Mexico.

Hum, never went to the one where you sit in the river...sounds very nice indeed!

Dear Rinne,

I am sorry you dingo'd what you wanted to say! Maybe you will remember later what it was. It was great to hear your mother had a nice birthday! What all did you guys do? Was it a small get-together, or a big gathering?

I hope Alison comes back to our thread soon, too. I did not get to see that other thread. However, I am like you where I avoid drama when possible. There are times I can literally feel the ferocity and hatefulness in people's posts. The negativity is not good to be exposed to at all!

Dear Rachel,

All of this news is so encouraging! Dr. Amy really seems terrific! Those new supplements may just help restore your health. The Mercury and Candida are probably the biggest challenge from the sound of it. Thank goodness there were no new infections to be concerned about! We are cheering you on!

Dear Julie,

We are all anxious to hear about your appointment today. The Naturopath should help. They seem to have more of a pulse on things. I go to a holistic physician. So far, she has been much more understanding that I ever hoped or expected a doctor to be. Keep us posted!

I think it was interesting so many people who are Celiac have your name as well! There are also a lot of people with my name, too. That is one of the reasons I go by my nickname instead. Plus, it fits me better! Sometimes you wonder if all of these people got together and decided to name their children the same thing!

Dear Donna,

I love the newest painting you posted! Pansies are one of my favorite flowers! Did you work off of a photo or live model? The slippers are something I would love to have! Perhaps a pair in powder blue or pink?

You deserve those massages, too! You have worked long and hard for them! They certainly will help relieve the stress from your job. That is badly needed, I am sure! Maybe it will help with that nasty D.

Dear Andrea,

Hello Mama Spice! How are things with your brother? Have you heard from him lately? I hope your daughter is doing better for now. Tranquility is often desperately needed for most of us!

Dear Susie,

Yay! More trippy trees! I love these! Thank you for the art gallery link. Now I can actually go to an art show! :)

As far as beaches go, they do sound heavenly! I wish I could go to one! We have a beach, but it is not exactly the best place to go to. Pollution is a huge problem. I am also glad that your ex was not a lousy guy. That is good to hear.

Scatological warfare is dangerous, as you said! These excretory explosives from Celiacs and Lymies are deadly! Evacuation is often necessary from the effected area! Gagacious grenades, tird torpedoes, and popping poops are often causes of being decrapitated! (Losing your head while being attacked by poop.) This is extremely important to avoid whenever possible. You have been warned!

I am sorry to hear about your experience with the physical. Three minutes is a bit short. I had a PCP as stupid as that once. She actually went to Vanderbuilt! How on Earth can someone so stupid graduate from Vanderbuilt?

That would be great if Shakespeare loved my word! Scatological terror is one thing I do not think he used once. Since as you said it did not come about until much later, that would be why! He made everything sound so elegant. I love to write my poetry in his style (iambic pentameter) when possible.

The similarities between you and tomatha  are really something! You guys sure are a lot alike! How unusual is that? We all were guided to be together in this magical place, as you said! It is so cool! I agree that Saxy Spice is good for him!

You mentioned the Jennys. I have heard of them. I like some unusual music as well, that most people have not heard. A few great songs I like came from a Japanese composer named Yoko Kanno. These songs were actually written for an anime called Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex. It is really cool. Check out these songs! Here are the URLs.

http://www.coucoucircus.org/ost/generique.php?id=100 Stamina Rose by Gabriela Robin

Inner Universe by Origa

http://youtube.com/watch?v=H2W9lYMWv18&amp...ted&search= Rise by Origa

This anime is really cool. It is about after the Singularity, when machine and human combine. Major Motoko Kusanagi is a woman leading a team of special agents in 2030 Japan against international espionage. I usually hate anime. Normally the artwork sucks. GITS:SAC is great!

Watch out with those mojitos! Lyme patients do not usually do well with alcohol! If you have it, you might not tolerate it.

From the sound of it, it does not irritate your system like it does a lot of others'. Maybe you are lucky in that respect!

I know what you mean about being clueless with guys. I always either pick the gay ones, or the ones I am attracted to are married with kids. Togusa in that anime is cute, but it figures, even the straight guys that are fake are married with kids! I prefer older men, actually. I like guys in their 30s and 40s like George Clooney. Guys my age are primarily idiots.

Dear Carla,

I am glad you had a good time at the movies! Thank you for clearing up the situation about the other thread. I understand why Scott did what he did. It is best to nip the fighting in the bud before it gets worse. Even so, I hope Alison returns so we can see her again!

Are you trying to set tom and Susie up? They could go on a date here! :P I think they would make a cute couple! Of course, it is cool if they are just friends as well. Susie said she does not do good with men, either. Yet, she has dated so much? Maybe you have to be married before you get them. That is what I am thinking.

Dear Bev,

It sounds like you have a Hellacious herx on your hands! :( I am sorry to hear you are suffering. If you are very concerned, it could be good to call the doctor. Maybe your physician can let you know whether feeling like that is normal. Keep us posted!

Thank you for calling me a ray of light! ;) I am glad you like my wordage. I try very hard to write well. This is very essential. People often view poor writers as unintelligent. That is what I read. Humor is always good to mix with the scientificness, though! Also, I cannot believe you said blow me again!

Dear tom,

Those beaches definitely sound inviting! I wish I could be on one right now! It is so wierd how you and Susie have so much in common! :o This really is amazing! There is no way you guys met by accident!

I bet yesterday was a really difficult one for you and your sister-in-law. :( Not being able to have your loved ones there on birthdays and anniversaries is so hard! I knew someone who was born on the fifth of May and so was his sister, and they were five years apart! Isn't that strange? I went to school with this guy some years back.

So, I am not sure what the R in BYOR means. I am going to guess. Bring Your Own Rachel? The problem is there is only one! :o What are we going to do?

It is really cool you play the tenor sax! Those are nice! Do you like jazz? My best friend thinks I could be great at singing that with my voice. I do not know. I really do better with R&B and Alternative.

Dear Claire,

It is so nice that you popped by! We miss you! Thank you for the information on the easy castor oil packs. I am not sure if I should use them yet. What do you think? Could they help me?

Dear Judy,

Hello Spunky Spice! What are you up to today? How is Jim? I have not gotten to read your e-mail yet. I will do that soon!

Dear Mia,

We are all wondering about your massages. They will be nice, I bet. The guy doing them seems really fascinating. He also appears to be incredibly aware of various approaches to wellness. Be sure to let us know how things go!

Sincerely,

Jin

 Jin said gagacious and decrapitated in the same sentence! OMGosh, too funny!

The pansies were from a picture...that was my one attempt at watercolor and didn't go so well, lol. Actually I did attempt more, but they are WAY worse than that was so think I destroyed them all. I may have some Chinese Brush paintings left though. I actually liked some of my practice stuff.

Yep, they've got those slippers in light blue, and Macy's has them in a soft pink...the pink at Penneys is, well, bright.

Dear Donna,

I am glad you liked my silly sentence! The picture is nice. Watercolor is not the world's easiest medium. Have you ever tried Japanese Sumi-e painting? It is really fun! It also is very relaxing. I am also good at Chinese calligraphy.

Those slippers would be awesome to have. I want a ton of pairs. Purple or lavender would be pretty, too. Pink is one of my favorite colors. I am girly.

Sincerely,

Jin

oh my gaaaaaaaawd....you' re kidding me, right???

:lol::lol::o:P

um, this is why I am still single.....cannot read men very well  how coudl YOU guys know this and not me, when I"ve dated WAY more than you ever have, sinve you've been married your whole lives?

:huh::lol::lol:

When I checked, you were the top poster. Don't feel bad, all of us are always in the top 20!

I've always been able to read men ... women, too, but men are much easier to read. And, yeah, I think I was born married!!! :P

Who was flirting here? PMs don't count as 'here'.

I thought I was doing great to not tip my hand. Just a small non-sequiter inside joke and she didn't even CATCH it!! (Ya it wasn't easily deciphered)

Umm, who said anything about PM's? Now you've told us!!! ;) I know flirting when I see it.

There!

A pic! Action shot, even.

Like I said, I don't *have* pics of me. This was from when I was doing the website for a band I was in.

Great picture. I agree that the tenor has a richer sound than the alto.

I play flute. I have trouble playing sometimes when my babesia symptoms flare ... can't get the necessary breath support. I finally learned to play with my braces. Right now I just play at Church, but I was in three groups when we lived in Bloomington, IN. That was fun. None of it was professional, all just for fun.

tom-

what kind of music do you play

I was going to guess Jazz.

I may be coming out of my herx.....it hurts!!!!!!!!!!!

Susie- wanna come out with the dingos for the summer and be my nanny? Or maybe we could ahem (clears throat) go live at a spa in Sscottsdale (VERY close to Phoenix) and you can still be my nanny. :P

Glad you're getting through it! They are miserable. EVERY one catches me by surprise ... even when I'm expecting it.

Here's the spa! http://www.sanctuaryoncamelback.com/content/index.html? Their chef took very good care of me when we ate there. Can I come, too???

Are you trying to set tom and Susie up?

Nope. Just recognized the connection and the flirting. I don't set people up ... bad idea.

this is a big appt. week for me. I have that massage guy today, wednesday and friday and thursday i have an appt. at my health center.

Haven't heard from my brother. I tried calling Saturday and he wasn't in. I only have something like 3 minutes on my calling card. Hopefully will be recharging that later today since it's payday. :) Course almost all the money is gone already........bills.....don't you just love 'em. <_<

Nope. Just recognized the connection and the flirting. I don't set people up ... bad idea.

I shoulda been more specific. Meant to be adding myself to the list of those waiting to hear how the herx was going.

So yay! Only 1 day? Not fair, mine was 3.

Considering the (at least)theoretical benefits, that wasn't so bad was it? For me the best part was knowing it was temporary. Spent way too many years w/ health worsening nearly every week. Certainly every month. I figured out how many months once, but sure don't remember now.

Three is a short one for me ... every 24 days, 3-6 days long. :( Last time was two weeks, but I had a cold at the time, so I can't blame it all on herx.
