Rachel--24

Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Recommended Posts

He has a red beard, and would look gorgeous in a kilt of our Forsyth Clan plaid! Can't persuade him to do it though.

Oh my gosh....HE"S SCOTTISH??? Have a weakness for Scots....a man in a kilt - - might faint - - nothing sexier....

Very interesting family history, Cissie! I LOVE Nashville, have a cousin there, doing VERY well in the gastric bypass surgery business...I think I could move to Nashville in a heartbeat, circumstances permitting.

Notice that I am not at all addressing health issues today? Just being plain silly? so sorry. I am in some kidn of weird and slightly sad mood and just trying to find some joy. You guys are awesome.

so now we've gone from water to ...milk? I don't know what to do any more!!! (oh, I drink Lactaid anyway)

Rachel--Good point about the enzymes. Could you try stopping all suppliments (except your new med) and see what happens? You may be surprised. I have yet to find a digestive enzyme or a probiotic that don't make me sick. They're supposed to be helpful, but my system does not like them. Maybe yours dosen't either :(

Donna--My parent's house to this day is completely off-white inside. Very little hanging on the walls, and neat as a pin! My homes have always resembled one of those little antique-gift shops you see in little towns in the country. Lots of color and things around me that mean something to us. Not messy or cluttered, but quite the opposite of the way I grew up!

Mine is definitely opposite...my parent were both very neat...I'm not!:ph34r: My house resembles my life...a little bit of this, a little bit of that and in total chaos.

OMG...I seriously just got bit twice by an ant!! WTF?? I thought only red ants could bite?

I was just sitting here and felt a pinch behind my knee and there was an ant! I flicked it away and a couple minutes later another sharp pinch on my leg and the ant was back!! How can an ant be biting me??

Well I hope you smashed the heck out of the little dude.

Oops, I mean I hope you took it outside and released it into the wild.

Patti,

I'm not taking anything except my meds. When I started this thread I was taking those same enzymes and was reacting to everything. I stopped taking them when all the msg stuff came into play. I was off them a couple months and just went back on right before my vacation. I remember thinking "Why is this happeneing...why am I sick on my week off?!" I had been doing ok before that and my whole vacation I was brainfogged and sick and lost 10 lbs. I hadn't lost any weight for 2 months straight before that. I'm really thinking the enzymes caused the problems and it always takes awhile to get back on track.

Put me in, coach! (arm waving wildly) I can milk a cow!!! :P Willing to try a goat! Where will our farm be?

Patti and Susan, I live in Lilburn.

Patti, go to msgmyth.com. I got that from Rachel.

Susan, damn right! Nothing sexier than a man in a kilt! :):):) Oh, and my dentist is in Decatur. Social Circle is a charming town. Until we found this one, I wanted to buy a house there.

rinne, buckwheat is in the rhubarb family? Well, alrighty then.

Donna, those are my kind of colors!!! Help stamp out beige and white!

Who mentioned dating the 60s and 70s psycho? Was he from the south? Daddy once threw a certain pianist (JLL) off our front porch. That was in the late 50s, I think; or maybe early 60s.

Rachel, no matter what we call your string - book, cult, slumber party, soap opera - it's always gonna be OMG!!! :P:P:P As in OMG, they're all crazy.

Vincent, brilliant!!! missomgophobia :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I'm signing off for the day. Going to have a little supper, then a jigger of Jack, watch a little tv, and toddle off to bed. Have a lovely evening, everyone! :D

That's exciting about your house project Patti. I love to decorate. I can't really do much in a rental other than moving things around and adding accesories and such. So to vill the void, I watch all the decorating shows on HGTV and TLC to live vicariously, and for ideas and inspiration. I'm addicted to it!

I grew up in houses that had white walls, my parents didn't do any painting, but I was fortunate that they liked to decorate and do funky stuff like mirrored walls and stuff like that..... add that to the orange and green shag carpets and avocado green and orange appliances, there wasn't that much of an absence of color! It was the 70s what can I say  They also traveled to Mexico a lot and returned with all kinds of inspiration from the culture and design there. We had lots of Mexican tile, and stucco, and aztec art.

Cissie

Good night Cissie, I'm so glad you jumped in on this thread. :) You'll have to explain the jigger of Jack!

Now here's another one....my daughter was allergic to milk when she started on formula... I breast fed for 2 weeks until I had emergency appendectomy and while in the hospital my milk came out all over and then dried up (another whole story)... anyway... she didn't do at all well on any formula so the pediatrician told me to feed her goats milk......AND you know what? It WORKED!!! She drank goats milk for years and eventually went to cow's milk.... years later I read that goats milk properties are easier to absorb then cows milk... maybe I should get some goats milk for myself.

Try the goat milk and goat milk products. I have read on this board that some people can tolerate the goat's milk better than cow's milk and they seem to do really well with it.

Rachel, ANTS? what is up with this? maybe they are drawn to the ALIEN.......

:lol::lol:

The poor alien baby, we give it such a hard time.

Susan, sorry you are having a sad day. Hopefully all the laughter from this thread has put you in better spirits.

Rachel,

On the days you have reacted to sweet potatoes and other produce, were you eating amaranth or anything else on those days that you might have been reacting to? Or, were you taking the enzymes at the time you thought you were reacting to the sweet potatoes? I wonder if it was the other things instead.

The reason I ask is because I wonder if you would be able to eat potatoes and sweet potatoes in place of all the alternative grains. The diet I am having to do now is fruit, meats, fats, and veggies and then for the carbohydrates I am eating things like potatoes, sweet potatoes, winter squashes, and other starchy veggies, and some wild rice.

Just a thought.

Julie,

The only grain I was eating at the time was rice...but I always eat rice and it doesnt mess me up like what I went through on that week. Besides the rice I was only eating the usual fruits and veggies...and the yams and sweet potatoes. For sure it was the enzymes or the sweet potatoes or both. Before Thursday I hadnt eaten any alternative grains in awhile. The thing is that for 2 months w/out any supplements my weight was stable. Then I started taking the enzymes and lost 10 lbs within a week. I just dont know if the sweet potaoes alone could have done that??

ahhh don't say that word

Julie,

Give me the low down on what your diet is going to be like in the next few days, are gonna try anything? I really am going to get goats milk tomorrow, hey if it worked for my daughter it might work for me, someone said it didn't taste good... wonder if they ever tasted gluten free bread

Here's the lowdown on my diet Celia:

I basically have a variety of fruits, turkey, beef, and salmon, lettuces, zucchini, yellow squash, asparagus, red skinned potatoes, sweet potatoes/yams, winter squashes (like acorn and spagetti squash), and wild rice. For fats I do olive oil and avocadoes. I'm thinking I am going to try out beets, parsnips and turnips as well for starch.

I ate only meat and veggies on a candida type diet for three years and I wasted away I lost so much weight and I felt more malnourished than ever. So I have to eat foods higher in carbohydrates in the form of either grains or starchy vegetables and fruits. Since the grain issue seems to be more complicated I am going to go with the starchy veggies and some wild rice (which is really not a grain) and probably on the rare ocasion have some brown rice.

I have an aversion to goat's milk, I don't know why, I think it's the smell or something. If and when you try it just don't add anything else new in so you can gage if you react well to it or not.

Very interesting, so it could have just been the enzymes? Had you tried sweet potatoes in the past while not on the enzymes, I can't recall?

Well I guess if you were up for it down the road you could test out sweet potatoes again without the enzymes in your system.

Well I hope you smashed the heck out of the little dude.

Oops, I mean I hope you took it outside and released it into the wild.

I tried the sweet potatoes before (w/out the enzymes) but I only had a few so not sure if they would have affected me or not if I had continued eating them. Either way I'm thinking it was an msg issue. Either Auxigro in the sweet potatoes or something in the enzymes. This is why I stopped the enzymes in the first place:

These OFTEN contain MSG or create MSG during processing

Carrageenan, Maltodextrin, Malt extract,

Natural pork flavoring , Citric acid, Malt flavoring,

Bouillon and Broth, Natural chicken flavoring, Soy protein isolate,

Natural beef flavoring, Ultra-pasteurized, Soy sauce,

Stock, Barley, malt, Soy sauce extract,

Whey protein concentrate, Pectin, Soy protein,

Whey protein, Protease, Soy protein concentrate,

Whey protein isolate, Protease enzymes, Anything protein fortified,

Flavors(s) & Flavoring(s), Anything enzyme modified, Anything fermented

Natural flavor(s),

& flavoring(s), Enzymes anything, Seasonings

(the word "seasonings")

This is the reason I didnt trust the enzymes. They have protease enzymes in them but I didnt know for sure if it was the same thing that is mentioned in the list. I didnt know if it was talking about digestive enzymes or not.

I was taking a chance with trying them again. The reactions I was having were definately what I would describe as an MSG reaction in every way. What do you guys think? Do you think the protease enzymes in the list are the same as whats in the digestive enzymes? With my gut being so leaky alot of MSG could probably cause me spiral downward like I did.

Celia,

I tried goats milk and I liked it alot....but then again I'm the girl who likes anything so I'm probably not the best at giving advice on how stuff tastes. Everything tastes good to me. Except today... right now the thought of peanut butter makes me wanna puke. <_<

Julie are you going to drink bottled water? Just curious.

I don't recall the goats milk having a bad smell but it was years ago, my daughter is 24 now so maybe I don't remember, I really hope it works for me to gain some weight, if I have to I'll pinch my nose closed while I drink it.

Ah yes, the bottled water. I probably will look into that. Did you guys say Costco had spring water? I have been drinking filtered tap water from the same water system (a carbon system) for over 10 years so it might be worth it for me to do this "water challenge".

I'm really funny about smells so it might just be me with the problem. My dad drank it for 2 years straight out of the carton by the glass full and on cereal and etc. and he didn't seem to think there was much difference between it and cow's milk. I guess it depends on the person. Good luck with it :)

I would say yes, the enzymes were probably causing you problems. Do you have a list of ingredients on your enzyme bottle?

Isn't that something? It's the main thing we are given with digestive problems too, since we have limited/compromised digestion, and here they are making things worse.
