Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Recommended Posts

April,

You would have to check to see if your state allows for exemptions to the vaccines. Here in NYS it has to be either medical which rarely works unless your Dr. will sign and if you have an allergy to whats in the vaccine.

Another you could do is a religious exemption. This is what my sister uses. I'd have to ask her what exactly she used. She got a signed statement from her pastor, and used Bible verses etc....

Also some states have a philisopical sp? exemption and NYS is trying to get this one to pass which would make it easier for parents.

I happen to homeschool which makes is easy for me to avoid it completly. My first born son had high pitched crying and high fever for almost two weeks with the mmr. I vowed I'd never do that again to my kids.

Ok- good to know! For some reason I thought I could only claim "religious exemption" but since I had done shots prior I wouldn't be able to. I will look more into this.

I cannot see injecting either of them with more poison!

At their last checkups, I had called ahead to see if the were due for any shots so I could prepare my speech. The nurse said no. So, apparently the pediatrician said they were due for chickenpox and some others and I sort of froze, and said, "no, not prepared for that today", "I'll come back".

Needless to say, he does not understand my reasoning and didn't even want to see the kids urinalysis heavy metal tests. He pushes the flu vaccine which I refuse of course.

I am currently looking for a ped. with a more non-traditional approach.

Thanks!

April thanks for the info, the Thorne Research product won't work for me unfortunately since I am allergic to psyllium. I am hoping to find some plain apple pectin.

truthsearcher, I did chelation a looong time ago and all the scientificness of it has left my brain so i'm sorry I don't have much info to add to the discussion.

Paula, I usually eat scrambled eggs and grated veggies in them for breakfast, soup/vegetable purees throughout the day, lunch is salads with chicken, hard boiled eggs, or ground turkey taco meat or sandwiches wrapped in lettuce leaves, and dinner I have a portion of meat (chicken, beef, or turkey) with a starch side and veggie side.

I always make sure I eat protein with every meal.

I also have to agree with not going vegan, especially for the chronically ill. The body needs protein to heal, build, and repair.

basically I was recirculating everything.
I believe this is what cholestyramine is used for, if I understand you correctly. Cholestyramine is used when a person is reabsorbing toxins that are in their intestines .... it absorbs bile so you can't reabsorb toxins. I took it for a couple months for this purpose.

I believe if you Google Dr. Shoemaker you will find information on this.

By law you dont have to have ur kids vaccinated now, but they do tell you if there is an outbreak your kid will have to be quarentined. I was worried about this to, cause my girls only had shots once and it was terrible. So i just signed that due to personal reasons they were not vaccinated. My boys all are, but the girls will not be. Check your laws were u live, but i think its a law for all of the usa.

paula

Check out www.909shot.com for information on this. I take the philosophical objection to shots ... but in Indiana I had to take the religious exemption. You HAVE to get the wording right.

She got a signed statement from her pastor, and used Bible verses etc....

All you have to say is that it's for religious reasons. They tried to ask me for a letter from my priest at one point, but they are not allowed to do that .... it can be for personal religious reasons and you don't have to be specific. My letter just said "for religious reasons" with no more explanation than that.

Here in Ohio, I only said I chose not to give shots.

brown rice is fine as long as you don't get symptomatic with it. I read somewhere that as long as the "transit time" is good, you would not feed the yeast with those kinds of carbs. Basically, anything can sit there and ferment in the gut if the "transit time" is slow.

Just to add to this, from what I researched it's also important to eat small amounts of grains (when, or even if, you are going to eat them) and never overeat them.

I am fine with 1/2 cup of brown rice for example, but if I eat more than that at a time I get symptoms.

There are many schools of thought as to what you can/can't eat on these diets so you might have to experiment a little and find what works for you Paula, afterall we are all different.

April,

I had very high tungsten show up in my test as well...I'm guessing it would have been off the charts if I'd been given a full dose of DMPS. My Dr. said not to be concerned with it...he said to look at the mercury when all these metals are showing up. He was mainly looking at the mercury, cadmium, arsenic.

I looked up the tungsten anyway but didnt find anything of interest...I cant even remember what I read about it.

My understanding is that mercury causes all of these other metals to accumulate. When you remove mercury the body doesnt have as much difficulty handling the other metals...the body gets rid of them much easier than it does mercury.

Thats ALOT of metals coming out on an unprovoked urine test! I obviously dont know what a typical 2 year old would be excreting but that does seem like alot.

Its not a rule that calcium has to be elevated for there to be mercury toxicity....just that when they do see it...its very likely. The minerals would have to be skewed to some extent though. A person with all minerals in balance would most likely not have any issues with mercury.

Since his results show that the minerals are not in balance...coppers high (mine was off the charts too), iron is low and the other 2 are high...it would seem like he does have a problem with mercury.

Its not likely that the mercury would be showing up in the test....even less likely since it was unprovoked.

They say that it sometimes doesnt show up until the 4th, 5th...or even 10th challenge...but its usually there....and its why so many other metals accumulate.

I dont remember what kinds of symptoms your kids have??

I would also look into Lyme...as that can also cause elevated copper and low iron.

It seems like they both have similar things going on. My guess is that whatever you find to be a problem for yourself...is very likely going to be the same issues your kids have. My Dr. said that he has many patients (female) whose children also have the same issues.

It might be easier to get all the testing done for yourself and then go from there.

Interesting Carla. My sister had such a rough time fighting with the school district.

I told her hey maybe God wants you to home school? :P

They legally can't do that. It wasn't up to me to PROVE that I had a religious problem with it and it didn't have to be my Church's problem, it only had to be my concern. I wonder how it would have worked if she just said, "You can't ask for that, all I have to say is I have a religious exemption."

In Ohio, there was no problem whatsoever.

For my daughter in college in Indiana, no problem, she wrote her own note.

I think it's only a problem and school districts only do that when they're really ignorant of the way the law works.

I home schooled for 10 years., btw. :) I couldn't handle it anymore because of my declining health.

Well i would be happy not to even eat rice, i do not like the stuff. I will eat it if i have to but id rather not lol.

I was thinking of making like an chicken and rice soup with veggies tho and have that every day for lunch, but i wasnt sure if chicken stock is acceptable, i found an website that said vegatable stock was so im guessing they are about the same.

I didnt think of taco wraps, what seasoning do u use for the taco meat. And i forgot that salads would be safe with eggs and stuff, i think i wont mind this at all. I love salads and i dont care ifi cant have salad dressing cause i havent used it in years any way.

This way of eating does not sound hard at all, im actually kinda excited to start tommorow. Tonight tho im eating everything that i cant eat tho, have to have my starburst and skittles out of the way lol

Oh Paula, what a scarey dream!!! I have very vivid lifelike dreams too, and they can be pretty disturbing at times, lol.

I slept okay...I woke up a bunch like I usually do, but went back to sleep each time until around 3:30ish...I have to get up at 4:30 so if I wake up around 3:30ish and look at the clock, I usually end up not going back to sleep. I have the clock covered, so I have to decide to look at the clock, and I always wish I hadn't.

Sounds like you'll do pretty well on the diet once you get the hang of what you can and can't have.

I'm having a rough morning...I REALLY want coffee with the little mocha creamers they have here. Bad on so many levels for me. So far I've managed to NOT have any, lol. I'll go down in about 10 minutes and walk on the treadmill and once I'm past that point it'll be pretty safe, lol. I just have to occupy myself for 10 minutes. :P

A few months ago we got an thing from the water works and they were saying there were levels of certain metals in the drinking water but not to be alarmed. We do have an filter on the fridge but i keep forgetting to replace it. could this be something that is bringing havoc unto my body. I need to find it tho and see what is exactly in the water. Ill post back what i find.

Hi Paula

I think the answer has to be yes. I'm very skeptical about public utilities and levels that we are told are acceptable. Why would they tell you that there were problems with the water in the first place if they weren't worried about it? We had our water checked for it's lead levels. The water companies are obliged by law in the UK to do those checks if asked. But all they came back to us with were that the levels were 'acceptable'. Acceptable to who?? I've just phoned them and insisted they tell us what the actual numbers are so I can form my own opinion as to whether it's acceptable. Your post reminded me to check this out, so thanks! maybe you can get a report from you water company?

PS Happy New Year everyone!

PS Happy New Year everyone!

When i received it my mom as here and she took it back with her cause she was freaking out, i didnt even think about it cause i was really sick at that point of time and just kept thinking about being celiac. But she was all worried for us. She is mailing it back to me today so i can look at it. I tried to find it online but of course it wasnt cause im sure they dont want people to be afaraid to come here or move here.

Im glad i reminded you to get an copy of it. I do know the numbers for arsenic have changed their range this past year, they are not so wide in the numbers now.

I just know once rachel gets me the info on were she did the hair analyzes im ordering it asap.

Had to go to the drs this afternoon because my sinuses have been getting worse. He prescribed antibiotics :( I'm not very happy about taking them, but DH thinks it's a good idea because they're so painful. What a great way to start 2008! Anyway, I shall be making New Years resolutions about my diet etc Anyone else going to make a special new year effort? I could do with some encouragement (it's the chocolate that always ends up getting me... )

Donna, 'just' isn't a word I'd use for the candida diet lol! Good luck :)

Paula, our water company just phoned back. They said our lead levels were 4.5 parts per billion. The current 'safe' limit is 25 per billion and in 2013 it will go down to 10 parts per billion, so I guess our water's OK for lead. They didn't test for anything else.

The problem with that is that if you are already suffering from some kind of toxicity or something like candida, parasites, ect. your body is not as likely to excrete the lead or other metals as efficiently. Plus I don't think they really know what is "acceptable". What is acceptable to me is NONE!!! LOL

It would definately contribute. We drank brita filtered water here for 1 year or so. We didn't know the water here was fluoridated. I know Brita takes care of some things but definately not fluoride! This was when I was pregnant with our 3rd and he's the one that broke out with eczema after his 2 mo vac's and started down the spiral of food intolerances. I had also had some dental work done, unsafely, about a month before we were expecting and a root canal (which I've recently had pulled) my 3rd trimester. I sincerely believe that he would have become autistic had I continued his vac's.

I dont remember what kinds of symptoms your kids have??

My little boy, the 3 year old, was born with issues. Constant diarrheah, gas, bloating, butt rashes, dark circles under his eyes, thrush while breastfeeding. He started going backwards on the growth chart instead of up. It was then that I made us all go gluten free and he responded very well to that. He had/has allergies to cats and with all of that he had constant ear infections. I finally put tubes in his ears to help keep him off antibiotics. That worked. I had to pull him out of any dayschool, daycare situation because his body could not handle the germs. He was sick all the time. I went through his medical records and made a notation of all his sicknesses and it was monthly like clockwork.

Now, he is doing much better. The last diet change I made was to take him off goat milk and the dark circles under his eyes finally have cleared up. (you gave me that idea, btw!)

Although he is doing better, he is not all the way back to "normal". I was and have been considering Lyme and now that you said that about the copper and iron I am definatley going to persue it further. That is the main item that is similar on both of their testing.

My little girl didn't have as many symptoms as he. She had gluten and dairy antibodies on her enterolab testing. The low iron caused her to have extremely bad leg pain. She wouldn't even walk on it sometimes. Of course 7 doctor visits later and the neurologist finally mentioned low iron - go figure. If only I had taken her to the ND she would have probably figured it immediately. She wasn't surprised given they had metal issues. I learned later that lead can displace iron - so that made sense since they both had lead issues.

I recently went over her medical records from when she was a baby and although she wasn't as sick as Aiden she did have some issues. Just not as extreme. I was sicker when I was pregnant with Aiden.

They are both on the thin side. Now she is having early puberty type issues. But her hormone levels seem to be normal right now.

Thats ALOT of metals coming out on an unprovoked urine test! I obviously dont know what a typical 2 year old would be excreting but that does seem like alot.

YES!! I know! i couldn't believe it!

Does the chelation remove the arsenic as well? I was wondering about this.

I blamed my husband for the tungsten.....he has a shop in the basement that I have always had issue with and he has tungsten carbide cutting tools on the machines......he didn't believe it could cause a problem but I insisted!!

Then later I learned that there is tungsten in light bulbs and toaster ovens - which is probably more likely where they got it. <_<

Yes, my little one broke out in eczema at about 4 months right around the shot sight on his leg. It all seemed to spiral downhill after that. I believe mine would have gone autistic also, thank goodness I started figuring stuff out.

I have not ever had dental work, but my mom has and I am sure she had a lot of fillings while prego with me.

Julie,

Do you eat eggs every day? I love eggs but had cut them back to once or twice a week since we all (I think) came up with eggs on our ASYRA. I used to eat them at least 4 times a week, and I always have 2 at a time.

I typically don't have breakfast as I don't know what to have. I have wraps for lunch with hummus most times, sometimes almond butter and then our dinner is protein, veggie and rice something. We eat way more rice products than we should but with our budget constraints it's hard to eat the amount of veggies we are supposed to. We are quite deficient in that area and I rarely have fruit as I save it for the rest of the family.

Do you guys think I need to work on having some animal protein more frequently, instead of the major bulk of it being for dinner? Sometimes I have some protein earlier in the day.....depends on leftovers.

I'm glad you figured it out. The thing is, I got Blaylock's new book the day after his vac's. Had I got it before I probalby would not have gotten them. His eczema was on his face though.

It's amazing how interconnected everything is. We got a lot of toxins from our parents and passed them right on down. :( I was pretty clueless about this stuff 2 years ago.
