I have a recipe to make a substitute for cream of ... soup. I like the recipe but does anyone know if it is the equivalent of a condensed can of soup or is it the equivelent of a can of soup with the liquid added? Here is the recipe:

1 cup cold milk

2 Tbsp cornstarch

1 1/2 Tbsp butter

1 tsp chicken bouillon

1/2 tsp salt

dash of pepper

In a small saucepan, whisk milk and cornstarch till well blended.

Stir in butter, bouillon, salt, and pepper.

Heat to a boil, stirring frequently. Simmer on low for one minute more to thicken.

Use in recipes to replace one can of cream of anything soup

Thanks for your help :)

It looks more like condensed soup. But you'd have to make it fresh to keep it from setting up when it chills. Sweet rice flour doesn't tend to harden like cornstarch does.
