Just dxed with celiac and my dr. recommended I take folate (folic acid) along with my multivitamin, calcium w/D, and iron pills. Is this really necessary? I've already had a baby and don't plan on getting pregnant again :)

Yes this is a good idea, you need folate also not just a developing fetus. Make sure though that all your vitamins are clearly labeled gluten free. You may also want to pick up some sublingual B12 if you are fatigued or have any neuro type symptoms like pins and needles, headache, balance problems or mood problems.

2nd on that last posting. I'm taking sublingual B total -- which has folate as well. I've noticed a remarkable difference in my stress levels.
